Until his death in 1888, only two years after producing this became the world ’s most powerful flavored soda, Dr. Pemberton sold parts of his company to different individuals, with the bulk of the property being sold to Asa G. Candler, an Atlanta entrepreneur. Under Mr. Candler 's guidance, Coca‐Cola sales spread outside Atlanta to drinking fountains. Among the greatest obstacles for early bottlers were rival imitations of the brand combined with a shortage of quality in the labeling across the 1,000 processing operations at the period. The bottlers decided that a regular and distinct bottle was required for a distinctive drink and in 1916 the bottlers accepted the special contour bottle. 1

Therearedifferentstylesofleadershipthatthemanagersorleaderswithinan organisation can adopt based on the behaviour and needs of the team members. The different leadership styles are explained below - Autocratic Style –This is a type of leadership style wherein the leader makes all the decisions. Without taking an input from any of the team members. The employees are not asked to share their inputs and thoughts during the decision-making process. This can include the manager changing the shift of working hours within the workplace. This type of leadership style is not considered to be effective. Democratic Style –Leaders who adopt this style of leadership are supportive of their team members and encourage participation(Eckhaus, Klein and Kantor, 2017). They ask the team members for their suggestions, inputs and feedback before making any decision. This makes them feel valued and important, due to which they work more productively. The leaders at Coca-Cola are democratic and they encourage participation within the team. There is open communication among the team members and lower levels of conflicts. In the present context of Coca Cola, it is said that higher authorities of the company adopt various methods to motivate and encourage their staff members so that they will be able to perform all their functions and operation in most effective way. This as a result changes the perception of employees towards their organization and conduct all the operations by considering it their own work. Along with providing benefits and advantages to employees for motivating them in order to conduct a their functions in best and most effective manner, there are some theories and frameworks which can also implement by higher authorities within the organization (North and Kumta,2018).Theseframeworkshelpinmotivatingstaffmembersandchangingtheir 11
perception towards the business entity which increases their overall performance and efficiency in a positive manner. Some of the most effective motivation frameworks includes Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Vroom’s expectancy theory, Hertzberg’s two factors theory and many more (Gummesson, 2017). In the present context of Coca Cola, managers of the company adopt Maslow’s hierarchy theory in order to encourage the workers in an positive manner. With the help of implementation of this theory, performance of workers will be improved in a fruitful way. Maslow's hierarchy of needs: This is the effective strategy related to motivation of employees within an organisation. Thiswillprovidinganopportunitytoimprovetheirlevelofperformancesandattain organisational targets within stipulated period of time. This works by focusing over fulfilling power needs in initial period of time. Afterwards, focus is provided fulfilling al other different needs of employees. The detailed description of these is provided below along with application over employees of an organisation; Physiological needs:This is the lowest needs which an employee an want to fulfil from the performance of functions within an organisation. In today's modern business era, organizations are work on a specific aim and objective and for attainment of those objectives theyquest to develop employee performance, investing a lot developing suitable strategies and time aspect that are aimed at motivating employees at workplace. Therefore, the influence of assorted motivational efforts on different workers are not 12
the same, because what motivates individual employees is as complex and as diverse as humanity itself. For these aspects, the same motivational strategies and leadership styles will not have the same impact on different employees. However, in the context of business it is important for the management to encourage employees for the purpose of developing effective and positive perception to perform organisational operations effectively, thus a positive perception will helps an individual to work with more collaboration and enthusiasm and highly motivated employees are effective for the business to develop entire performance. In addition to this, management of a business encompasses over encouraging employees via providing them benefits like incentives, compensation, extra bones, higher salary and so on, thus these aspects are effectively important to influence individual to be stated at the place and put their significant strength in the growth and success of the business.Perception and motivation are interrelated factors and behaviours which tend to influence the performance of an organisation. A perception of an individual working for an organisation can directly influence upon his motivation to complete the allotted task. For instance: if an individual perceives that opportunities and environment that has been offered to him contributes to personal development and gains then he will be highly motivated. On the contrary, if an individual believes that there are lower opportunities in the businessenvironmentthenhe/shewillbelesserpersuadedtoperformbetterwithinthe organisation. Therefore it is very important for Human resources team to make attempts to change perception of employees so that they perform better within the organisation. Along with this, motivation also affect the overall perception of employees as they get motivated towards their allocated job roles at working area. If workers are satisfied within the company then they put their best efforts for accomplishing their set goals and objectives in stipulated time frame. Mainly, motivated employees always ready to complete their work correctly and at the same time also focus on executing their task along with higher effectiveness (Waring, 2016). As employees who are perceive that they have ability to put their greater efforts and also control over their working activities then they likely be more motivated towards the company and its set objectives as well. function as a team effectively, clear communication is very important. During the meeting we discussed the topic and analysed our understanding of the same. Once this was done, we broke down the complete project in small and manageable tasks. This was done in order to track the success of each task individually as well as the project on the whole. The different tasks were allocated among each of the team members based on their area of interest. The main reason behind doing so was to promote active engagement in the project. Working effectively in a team can help the team members in performing in the expected way and acquiring new skills. There were different tasks that had to be completed by each of the team members. These includedtakingdownnotesandcollectinginformation, analysingit, selectingthemost appropriate information for the project, compilation of the project etc. Also, each of the tasks were assigned a deadline so that there were no delays in the completion of the project. I was assigned the task of collecting information for the same and for this, I referred to various books, journals, online websites, newspapers etc. Initially, I found it difficult to collect the required information, but as I started going through different sources, I was able to collect the information easily. The behaviour of all the team members was participating and cooperative, leaving two members. They did not cooperate and did not take the tasks assigned to them seriously. Due to this, they failed to submit their part of the project and as a result, the submission of the complete project got delayed. Since the tasks were allocated to each of us based on our interest and skills, all of us took this as an opportunity to learn new things and develop new skills. All team members belonged to different backgrounds and thus, it was a very learning experience for all of us. I got a chance to enhance my overall communication and time management skills. This is because communicating effectively was one of the most challenging parts for me during the project. Cooperation from all the team members was what made it possible for us to complete the project on time. A team can help all of its team members to grow individually and enhance their overall skills as well as knowledge. Also, dividing and allocating different tasks can help in easing out the burden of completing the whole project at once. Working in a team fosters creativity among the team members(Maunder, 2019). During the project, we went through a lot of brainstorming sessions and discussions, which helped us in gaining a new perspective of the different situations. Initially, all the group members were motivated about the project, but during the project, some of them started losing interest. This could be seen in their performance and overall level of 14
productivity. During this stage, other team members motivated them and ensured that they were not facing any difficulty in their respective tasks. During the project, there were other problems that were faced. This included a situation, where there was a conflict between two members of the team. There are different theories and concepts of leadership and management behaviours, motivation and perception. Thus, in order to decide on which theory or concepts could be included in the report, different team members were of different opinions. This made the whole process a bit confusing and as a result, a discussion had to be conducted. This helped in analysing the concept that was suitable for the company, i.e., Coca-Cola that was chosen for the project. Effective team work allowed each of the team members to actively engage in the project and provide their inputs on how could the project be completed effectively. Apart from this, regular team meetings and discussions helped us in determining the content and the overall layout of the project. Besides facing difficult situations, all of the team members were able to complete the tasks that they were allocated. We all got an opportunity to work collectively and learn new things from each other. Motivation and perception play an important role and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of the project. Personally, I developed effective communication skills as well as learnt to share responsibility. The practical experience of undertaking the project will be helpful for my professional career as well. CONCLUSION From the above discussed report it can be concluded that business management is one of the effective process that contribute in controlling as well as managing all the business activities so that predetermined goals can be easily attained. As it is evaluated that proper planning about the business activities is crucial that support in improving the overall performance of company. For attaining the same, proper leadership and analysing management behaviours is support in makingemployeesabletoundertakethetask activitiesinsystematicway. Thiscanbe contributes in enhancing the productivity level of the company and its workers as well.In addition to this, Tuckman's team development model is also effective as it help in developing an effective team that directly contributes in accomplishing their common targets in a systematic way. By analysing their overall performance or team members behaviour is also appropriate which directly support in reducing conflicts among team members. Furthermore, analysing 15
employee perception and providing better motivation is also beneficial in developing employees performance at working area. 16
