INTRODUCTION
Professional development may be referred as the process of identifying objectives or goals and
acquiring new skills in order to grow and succeed at work (Albanese and Paturas, 2018). In
simple words, it is a better version of individual in his current job. Learning new skills leads to
many opportunities that an individual can grab to promote growth. It keeps individual up to date
about various trends along with learning new skills. So it is important to improve current skills
which leads to better career option. The core purpose of professional development and placement
is to give individual that opportunity to learn and use new skills that they can use in their current
job and career. This project report is based on career path that I have chosen is manager of bank.
It will cover a brief introduction of chosen career and importance of training and qualification
framework. Further it will cover skills and attributes that are needed to become successful
manager. At last it will include skills that I have and how they do match in my chosen career
requirements.
TASK
Professional development plays an important role in defining success of any individual. By
acquiring new skills, it helps in promoting growth in current career. It is required to formulate an
effective plan which will help in getting new career opportunities by learning new skills and
attributes. It has numerous benefits for both young and experienced professionals (Konar, 2021).
Career path introduction
I want to become a manger in my future and have a desire to control back floor. I am having
keen interest in this field and good command over accountancy. I always have interest in banking
services and curious to know about its functioning and operations. I want to make my career in
this field because of interest. I am very passionate about my career and want to follow my dream
to become a manager. I have taken advice with my teachers too and they have advised me in
polite manner. They have told me about each and every aspect that I have to considered while
becom8ing manager. Earlier, I’m not aware about the roles and responsibilities of manager but y
teachers helped me in getting details. It requires various skills but I have some of them which
makes me fit. Bank manager undertakes many responsibilities of branch operations and is liable
for any fault of him or of his subordinates. He is responsible for managing tellers, product

experts and other back executives in order to render better customer service to customers. He
ensures that all the functions that are carried in bank are according to pre-determined plans or
not. In addition to that, he is also responsible for organising operation function of credit unions
and banks. I have chosen bank manager as my career because there are various opportunities that
I can grab on while opting this my career. I have some skills and attributes that meets
requirements of a good manager. In my academics, I was provided with a task related to banking
service and I was leader of my team. Because of my communication skills, I have ability to
effectively manage my team mates and can convey right message without any barrier. Along
with responsibilities of a branch manager. They can work in various financial institutions such as
in Investment bank, brokerages and commercial banks. Along with that, they can work in any
insurance and consultancy company. As when I become a bank manager I will apply all my
skills to work for customer in order to provide better service experience. I will take help from
various people who are working in bank and seek details on internet. I will read journals and
articles of successful managers and their traits which makes them successful in their work. It is
an interesting and passionating career that I have chosen and will try my best to become branch
manager.
Training and qualification framework
Banking can be rewarding for me as I am interested in finance, management and numbers. I
have strong customer service skills and in depth knowledge of banking functions and
operations. I am also good at formulation of financial strategy which makes me fit for this
role. Following are basic steps in becoming manger.
Get a basic education – To become a manager, it is needed to have at least basic bachelor’s
degree in finance or management. It is must to have bachelor’s degree when an individual
want to become branch manager.
Gain experience in banking – There are various institution which provides on the job
trainings sessions and vestibule trainings before placing individual to actual floor. This
makes them aware about their roles and responsibilities that they have to perform in bank. I
have taken online classes from a well-known management institutes to get aware about the
roles and responsibilities. They have provided me every details regarding banking
operations.
