INTRODUCTION 1. Background information on the topic Beauty industry is referred as the industry that majorly covers the broader variety of personal products which include hair care, fragrances, colour cosmetics, skin care, beauty appliances, brushes, combs, day spa, salons etc. In this modern age, beauty industry is known as the industry that is continuously growing and it is also using various online channels for promoting its various products. This industry is already quite strong and getting stronger by every day (Hong and Kwon, 2020). The main purpose of the beauty industry revolves around an individual’s beauty and also seeks to improve their natural features through producing innovative products that must be safe to use. It is continuously growing, coming up with new brand every time and also considers the feedbacks of existing customers as well as needs of potential customers. 2. Purpose of the report The purpose of doing the current research is to help students in deciding their career choices and making apt decision related to their ideal career. The research will focus on accumulating data to investigate best career choice. I want my future profession to be in beauty industry and there I work as marketing manager. There are many reasons that I have selected beauty industry to work in my professional career because it is the industry that is growing at faster pace and every individual need beauty product to maintain their beauty. The beauty industry is focused on the beauty of person by giving importance to variety of needs of different individuals (Stokinger, E. and Ozuem, 2018). This industry helps people to look good, feel good as well as build confidence among them. METHODOLOGY In the current research, different kinds of methodologies are used for the collection and analysis of information. In this primary and secondary data collection methods are used in the current research. Primary data collection has helped in gathering raw and first-hand data directly from the source. In the present research, interview is used to collect information from human respondents who work in the beauty industry (Mishra and Alok, 2017). On the other hand, secondary data collection is also used for the collection of already carried out data. People have shifted to e-commerce sites for the purchase of their various beauty products. Technology has provided customers the ability to “try on” make up by updating their photo on mobile devices. The biggest advantage of technology for customers is virtual reality and augmented reality. Globalisation:Globalisation also plays very important role in the beauty industry. This is also known as the greatest trend because it is helping in changing societal perceptions of beauty in different parts of the world. Globalisation is providing greater diversity in beauty ideals again. This is providing opportunity to beauty industry to promote, sell and expand the products and business in the global market (Banet-Weiser, 2017). This information could also help in guiding a student whether they should go for beauty industry or not. Respondent 1: Respondent 1 has answered that technology is major trend because it helps customers to try products without buying them. For this virtual reality is increasing more and more importance among customers. Respondent 2: Respondent 2 has said that natural products is the major trend because people are now looking for the products that are natural and organic. They are also looking for the products that have sustainable packaging. Q2) As per your knowledge, what are the needed skills that an individual needs to work in beauty industry? Respondent 1: Respondent 1 has answered that an individual must have the skill to observe and analyse the needs and requirements of customers because beauty is known as one of the concerned factors for customers. Respondent 2: Respondent 2 has answered that an individual must have knowledge of various beauty products and services because then only they could help their customers to buy products and services according to need of customers. THE SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED An individual requires certain general skills, and they are must to get success in the professional career especially in this competitive world (Quade, 2018). In these required skills are showcased that need to be possessed by an individual to get job for the post of marketing assistant in the beauty industry. Knowledge about the latest technology to promote different beauty products and services. This is important for manager to have accurate technological knowledge because it helps them in promoting and marketing products to the customers. Skills to manage resources such as money and time. This is essential for the manager to must have skill regarding the resource management because it facilitate an organisation in maintaining its financial statement such as balance sheet, P&L etc. Great communication and interpersonal skills are significant for business manager in communicating accurate information about the products and services to the customers. This turn to impact in increasing business sales and profitability. Skills to work in a group and team is effective for manager because it helps them in completing each and every tasks within given time period.
Giving attention to largest things to smallest things is essential quality for manager because it assists them in completing small as well as largest activity easily. All these skills are very general in nature that should be required by a candidate with appropriate academic qualifications in business or marketing.
