Introduction
The report will present the career path that I'll choose after completing my graduation.
I prepared this report by keeping in mind my area of interest that is to run a beauty Salon
Business. This report will help me in identifying the knowledge and skills I should have to
run the salon. It will help in identifying the future trends in the industry that will affect the
profession. The report with the help of primary and secondary data researches summarize the
areas of knowledge and expertise one should have in the beauty salon business. The report
will specify the trends in the Salon industry that impact the profession and the jobs and what
are skills I'll require in dealing with the changes.
General trends influencing the chosen industry or profession
Beauty Salon Industry is the growing and leading industry in the World because of its
rapid growth. With the change in trends, the references and demands of the customers have
also been changed and thus the industry is constantly developing with the new technology
and customer demands. Many industries such as nails care, hair care industries have been
shown a gradual increase in the beauty industry. The technology has eased the jobs and work
of the employees at the salons.
The emerging technologies and trends have boosted the need of beauty salon industry
but employees and new candidate joining the industry need to have the expertise and
knowledge of the technology. Nowadays, salons have adopted the Online Scheduling
technique to make appointment hassle free (Nindito, and Alianto, 2019). This also helped in
connecting with the clients carefree through messages and texts. This technique reduced the
need of front desk staff, which led to unemployment for the one with good communication
and client handling skills. The innovation in the beauty industry includes 3D face masks,
smart serums, 3D foundation, virtual imaging and thus this all needs software and technology
knowledge to be practiced. The employees working in the salon were facing the issues in
adopting with the new trends and technologies. With the increasing technology and new
equipment's, the hair market can result in around US$87 billion growth by 2023. Many of the
people start with their own salons and parlors while most of them provide specialized
services at resorts and spas. Globalization led to emerging of new talents and new products
in the market, diversifying the need and choices of the customers (Ananda, and Wisudawati,
