INTRODUCTION
The pandemic COVID-19 has given significant impact to various businesses in which
businesses are facing severe issues in order to manage their business functions and to acquire
their aims and objectives (Balderson, 2016). The period of lock down as highly crucial for all the
business as they faced several issues in managing the business which has developed business
threat. The report is based on Bedford Town Residency which is associated with providing
appropriate housing to local community for the purpose of giving support to vulnerable people.
The organisation has ordered their employees to perform their office workings from home in
order to to mandate with protocols of COVID-19 and to up-keep safety precautions. The purpose
of this report is to analyse such ways which can be used by Bedford Town Residency to develop
safe working environment to their employees.
PART 1
REASONS
Bedford Town Residency is an organisation which is providing services of appropriate
housing for local community for the major purpose of giving assistance to vulnerable people.
The organisation is divided into two blocks such as general purpose housing and supported
housing. General housing purpose is located with various blocks around Bedford in which
individual management office is provided to each block. Whereas supported housing is
associated with emergency flats, hostel for young people and young mothers. Due to the
implication of COVID-19 the business functions of Bedford Town Residences disrupted and due
to which organisation was facing issues in managing their day to day business activities. After
the national lock-down the organisation has allowed their employees to perform work from home
so that to maintain safety precautions at workplace (Geller, 2017). The organisation has observed
that due to the pandemic communication and collaboration was not suitable for performing
remote working. Due to this employees are facing working frustration and in order to mitigate
this issue the senior management team has organisation zoom call meeting so that to identify
level of such issues and practices to mitigate the same. On the other hand this meeting gave
solutions to various issues faced by the organisation. In the current time as the workforce is
going back to the offices which means that the organisation is required to develop such aspects in
which they can understand needs of their employees and may provide smooth transition to

employees as well. For organisation this is significant to develop such environment in which
their employee may feel safe and perform their working in appropriate manner. The given case

BUSINESS OPTIONS
There are various issues which are faced by the employees of Bedford Town Residency
and in this communication barrier is one of prominent barrier which was seen during remote
working culture. This is observed that due to this issue employees were not able to develop
business working and completing daily activities. This is analysed that the company is leading
their business in providing housing facilities to their customer so that vulnerable people may get
assistance (Ashkanasy, Zerbe and Hartel, 2016). The company has called off office after much
long duration. There are various options which are required to be used by the organisation so that
to provide smooth transition within office working. These are the methods which are required to
be undertaken so that employees may work in effective manner rand develop their business
objectives.
In this context communication is the major option which is required to be used by
Bedford Town Residency so that they can gain effective involvement of their employees. This is
the method which is value for money and could be helpful in giving edge in appropriate manner.
On the other hand the company is using weighted score-card tool which is defined as one of the
prominent project management tool and could be helpful in prioritising actions taken within the
project. This is analysed that Bedford Town Residency is taking assistance of such tool and
model so that they can identify issues possessed within their workplace and this could lead the
organisation in developing their vision in overall manner.
Similarly, 4D's model is regarded as the tool of time management which can be used by
Bedford Town Residency so that to utilise their time in most efficient manner and to discern
tasks in true manner. For Bedford Town Residency the major issue is linked with using such
strategies in which they can develop smooth working aspects to their employees so that in
overall manner employees can be involved in decision making and at the same time focus can be
rendered in respect of attaining vision of the organisation (Ahmed and et. al., 2020). In terms of
post-covid practices the organisation is keeping employee's health on priority which would

The major objective of Bedford Town Residency is to develop such working environment to
their employees so that they can work in effective manner and at the same time high
measurement of safety can be followed as well. There are two major methods that can be used by
Bedford Town Residency such as to promoting health code and to to develop environment of
open discussions. These are the methods that can be used by Bedford Town Residency to
mitigate issues faced by the employees in developing smooth transition.

There are various benefits which are seen by Bedford Town Residency as the company
adopting environment of open discussion in which views of employees can be examined and at
the same time significant conclusion can also be drawn. With the help of open discussion
Bedford Town Residency may get to know about diversified views of their employees and
resultantly organisational vision can be attained (Pithouse, 2019). On the other hand this is being
observed that when employees are working with higher collaboration then this will lead into
providing greater efficiency to the business and in individual manner as well. So using this
method as as pace to develop smooth transition will lead Bedford Town Residency to acquire
their objectives and vision within the organisation.
EXPECTED DIS-BENEFITS
With the help of open discussion employee engagement can be enhanced and at the same
time conflicts can be seen as every people is having their own perspective in which they may
have several conflicts so that employees may not be consented at one object. This is one of the
major drawback of this method and would lead into minimising of organisational vision.
TIMESCALES
Timescale are being classified in two category:
a) Gantt chart: A Gantt chart is a project management technique which is used by the
organisation to a lot time the time for a particular size of the project. In short they divide the
project in different sizes and then a lot the time which is been required for the completion of the
task. It is represented by horizontal bar chart where the starting date and the ending date to a
specific size of the project are mentioned.

b) Work break down structure: WBS is a method that is used when the project is complex or
there is multiply project are to be done. Work break down structure is in a tree form where there
are so many roots. While using WBS the larger and complex projects are divided into smaller
tasks so that completion of project is in effective manner. This is used so that project can be
managed properly.
Gantt chart is more beneficial to identify the time for completion of the project because it
identify task in a parallel manner so that a proper analysis can be made about the task which
cannot be started or finished until and unless the others has been completed and in this resources
are allocated in a very good manner (Huber, Lechner and Wunsch, 2016).
COSTS
There are two major cost which have incurred in order to complete the project such as
operation cost and maintenance cost. These are the costs which are associated with developing
significant edge to the project and in the same manner assistance can be given in order to
complete the overall project. In context of operation cost € 250 which would be used in order to
develop the project and in this manner objective within project can be attained. Besides this in
terms of maintenance cost €200 has been occurred so that to develop the overall project in
significant manner.

Reflection
When I was studying in London college University, I noticed business foundation is
important task for each individual as it helps to develop understandings what needs to do and
how activities going on. My tutor has taught me various things which supported me to get good
opportunity and maintain high performance. Learning is the area of deciding goals and learn
something that supports to complete task and manage performance. My tutor taught me how to
do journal entries in BREO which could help to manage work. According to me journal entries is
most important as it used to keep records of all transactions and comers at the workplace that
make work smooth and increase production. When I was studying in college my tutor has
assigned me a project of organizing a seminar for fresher’s where I was playing a role of team
leader (Rolfe, and Freshwater, 2020). By using Kolb model I am sharing my experience that how

I completed my project and influence people to managing work. This became most important for
me to handle the project by building an effective team.
In concrete experience I realised new experience and situation that is encountered by
removing existing experience. As I started to work a project of arranging a seminar I has to
prepare guests and students list that would be invited and develop their understanding in
particular areas. This seminar is related to explaining future opportunities for students and
providing them best chances to make right decisions. In this stage I felt nervous and challenges
to start a seminar as most of the work not started. The reflection observation is used by me to
maintain relation between understanding and experience by managing work effectively. While
running the project in my colleges days I needed a team which I selected by analysing the skills
and abilities of students who were interested to take participation. I realized that I am much good
in communication skills, ICT skills, collaboration skills, and decision making skills which I used
to build an effective team. I used communication skills to share information with team people,
collaborate with them, and making decisions which helped to manage the all functions. The
communication skills are helpful for me as I build effective team by communicating properly,
understanding their problems, and providing a good solution which supported to complete the
task. I allocated the task or activities between team members as I have good knowledge to
analysis skills or abilities which used to manage a team effectively (Lanaj, Foulk, and Erez,
2019).
In stage of abstract conceptualization, I got a new idea to bring change in seminar and use
visual presentation, experience of pass year students and providing them more growth
opportunities that would help to develop their career. In this, introduction of many courses which
was running in college, is provided to students that helped to influenced the number of students
and maintained higher performance. Other than this, I used Belbin typology for the purpose of
specifying role of team members such as plant, investigator, team worker, resource investigator,
motivator, evaluator, completer, monitor evaluator, co-ordinator, and implementer that could
support to manage each functions. This was my good experience for me where I learnt many
things for managing the work and becoming specialist. I analysed that work will be done in
certain period so that work assigned between members as per their skills and willing to work.
This helped to bring changes in existing work and complete roles effectively. The ending stage is
Active experimentation that helped me to share what I have learnt in classes and how I

implemented in working. This became most important for me to complete the project with
appropriation that helped me to develop understanding and managing all work effectively. As I
used my skills and abilities to complete the project by implementing plans and strategies that
provided me opportunity to get more future based project (Fekry, Dafoulas, and Ismail, 2019).
During the project and conducting seminars me and team members answered all
questions of students and showcase a good path. I come to analysis the project and completed
effectively. I learnt that Belbin role is most effective for me that also helped to resolve the
conflicts, risen while doing the work. Team work is essential part for arranging, managing and
completing the project as it develop understanding what needs to do and work is being divided
between members according to their skills and talent. This was a great opportunity for me which
I grab in my college days and I got placed in Hotel as operation manager where I need to handle
all guests, using journal entries to keep their records, make available rooms, and proving all
accommodation services that makes happy and satisfied. With the help of project, I developed
my understanding in different areas to build effective team, managing work, arranging people
and gusts and providing different services. As I used my ICT skills in running micro soft office
programme and numeracy used in reading data and statistics that will help to get more
opportunity to work (Bednár, and Ljudvigová, 2020). I also used Tuckman model for bringing
changes in work and controlling it effectively by sharing with team members that help to
accomplish goals and get good employment opportunities.
CONCLUSION
From the above report this can be summarised that Bedford Town Residency is required
to use various measures of dealing with post-covid impact at workplace so that higher employee
engagement can be attained and at the same time business vision can be acquired. There are
various tools and practices which are required to be adopted by the organisation so that to
mitigate such issues and to develop their business in appropriate manner. These are the methods
which are associated with examining the manner in which organisation may develop their edges
and acquire prominence as well. Besides this the report undertook model called 4D's which is
regarded as one of the prominent decision making tool and could be helpful in attaining overall
objectives.
