Subset of Artificial intelligence (AI) is machine learning. This means all machines
learning count as artificial intelligence (Michalski, Carbonell & Mitchell, 2013). AI can be
defined as a capability of machine to copy intelligent human behavior. The penetration of AI
in IT sector cannot be discounted. This essay will analyze the effect AI has in IT sector and
will provide its benefits.
For quite a few years, IT sector has been researching AI but now the adoption of AI
by giant organizations is in full swing since the benefits are huge. Companies like Google and
Facebook have developed their own artificial intelligence. The main aim of each organization
is to maintain competitive advantage and this is the reason why there is wide scale
deployment of AI. Across all business units, prediction at scale and AI-powered automation
are the need of the hour (nibusinessinfo.co.uk, 2018). Integrating AI into business has some
benefits but there are certain disadvantages too. The main disadvantage can be reduction of
job creation because of automation (Bostrom & Yudkowsky, 2014). This essay will mainly
focus on few benefits that AI has to offer. The first benefit of AI is it minimizes error. AI
helps the IT sector to maintain accuracy. The second benefit is daily application. Employees
in IT sectors uses application that are already AI powered. The AI system provides automated
response to an input which helps employees. The third application of AI in information
technology industry is maintaining finances. There is wide variety of applications that
maintains finances of a company and those applications require minimum or no human input.
Companies such as Google, Amazon and Facebook have developed their own digital
assistants. Digital assistants can actually interact with humans and thus these companies in a
certain way can reduce human resources and save money (WiseStep, 2018). The fourth
benefit of AI can be repetitive jobs. There are certain jobs that are monotonous in nature. For
IT industry, this type of jobs can be carried out by machine intelligence. The fact that a
