INTRODUCTION
The child development refers to the biological, emotional, psychological changes that are
responsible for many changes in the child. There are lots of changes occur with in this period as
the child grow from his birth to the preschooler. In this period, high quality of health and food
are requires to provide to the child so that the development can occur effectively. During this
period, the child depends on their parents in order to build the influence towards life. The child
development can be promoted through various element such as parental care and good amount of
nutrition (Yule, 2019). Basically, the child development from the birth depends on the mother
nutrition. There are lots of theories are occur which stated about the development of the child.
The below essay is about the analysing the impact of different aspects that can effect the child
learning in related to the development.
MAIN BODY
The critical analysis of significant aspects of young children's social, emotional, physical,
cognitive and linguistic development and develop arguments on the interrelatedness of
development and learning.
The child development bring up the collective of social, biological, emotional factors
which affect or influence the learning and developing of the child. It is a process from which
every individual go through. In this process the children learn different skills such as sitting,
talking, walking and other activities. There are some skills are required to be learn by the child in
a specific time period. There are lots of consequences can occur if the child dose not attain these
at particular time frame. The stage of birth from the 3 years is the vital stage in which the child
requires the most care and attention from the parents and guardian. Right from the birth, the baby
starts responding to the world as there are some milestones are present which are adapted by the
child (Kirby, 2017). The adaption of these milestones depends on the reaction of outsiders that
are closely present to the child. It also includes the premature birth of a child who faces more
difficulties in adapting milestones. This stage of life is very important for a child in developing
his physical and mental health.
The proper health refers to the presence of all abilities that help child to grow with
milestones. The good parenting is the most dependable factors in developing the child as the
child is more familiar to his parents. The child development also depends on the genetic factors

which passes from the parents. This can be enhance through effective intervention that help in
understanding the cause of development of child. The child development is important factor so
that the child can meet the essential milestone of the development. With the help of intervention,
the possible perception of development can be measure which can reduce the development
reflex. The checklist of milestones are necessary to check whether the process is delay or on
time. There are many problems can occur at time of developing child such as prenatal
consequences, presence of specific disease, etc. The child development includes some skills
which are necessary to be achieve by the child (Taylor and et.al., 2017). These development
skills includes the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and linguistic development. The each
skills have significant effect on child's development and they are described.
The Social development refers to the initiation of positive and healthy interaction with
the child. With this, the child can communicate easily and freely to the other individual. When
the child comes into the world he started rely on their needs on the other human beings. After the
months of birth, the child start recognising themselves and start developing interaction with the
parents and family. This skills are necessary to built with in the child as from the birth to 3 years,
the child aware of its needs and requirements. This is a important aspects as it brings the
development of language in the child. It has ability to develop the language and speech in the
children (Pennington and et.al., 2016). It is necessary to develop socially in the children as it
helps in creating the relationships with others. With this the toddler can connect to their parents
abut his needs such as food, sleep, etc.
These social development can only be learn by the parents and adults. It is important as it
develops interaction in all stages of life. With this, the behavioural problems can be reduced
which is also a cause of the social problems that can be occur later on. According to the
Eriksson's psychosocial theory, the impact of parents and external factors are occur in the
development of a child from infant. During the starting phase, the child develop the trust,
confidence and feels secure from the care which is provided by the parents. So it is necessary to
maintain the speech with the child. He stated the the first stage of child after the birth is totally
depends on the caregivers that how and which type of care they are providing to a infant. The
infant is fully dependent on the adults for their requirements and needs. So, it is necessary to
develop the social connection to the infant so that the trust can build with in the infant among
adults.

The Emotional development is necessary to build up in the child as it is the combination
of kindness and caring. This is basically the ability of maintaining and managing the child's
expression and emotions respectively. This is define as the management of different feelings at
different period of time. It also includes the positive and negative emotions of child in which
there thinking is developed towards their parents and family (McWilliam, 2016). This also
develop the reaction of a child to the surroundings which makes the bond between the child and
adult. This also includes the understanding of emotions which can lead from birth to the adult.
The emotion can develop differently at each different stage such as at the time infant a
child develop coordination with others. At the time of toddler phase the consciousness and self-
awareness of own emotional needs are occur. In this, the toddler express the happy, angry, sad
and show curiosity in the other things. The other activities plays important role in understanding
the feelings of others. According to the Bowlby's attachment theory, the child development is
depends on the attachment that can develop from any people or with the thing. As this will help
the infant to survive in further stage of life. With the effective responses to the needs of an infant,
the child can develop a sense of security from which they feel safe with adults. This is necessary
to build between the infant and people for healthy brain development of infant.
The Physical development includes the abilities to coordinate with the external
environment which also includes the changes in size and maturity of the whole body. It is also
related to the growth of the brain which help in the problem solve of the life. In this, the growth
of the muscles of child also includes which is necessary for the physical development of the
child. It is necessary to develop fully in the child during the infant from toddler stage. During
this stage the muscles of a child are mostly weaker so a proper development is necessary to be
occur in promoting the mind and motor skills of the child. As the reduction of this will cause
some adverse effect on mind of child which can bring the difficulties in various aspects.
The Cognitive development belongs to the developing of memory and thinking in a
child. After the birth, the child slowly recognising his parents and start evaluating them. This is a
type of sensory information that develop easy in the time in the child. It is based on the thinking
and understanding of a child that how a child interact with others (Luund et.al.,2016). This will
develop also the emotional state in the child in which a child communicate about his needs to the
other people. The brain development also occurs with in this development as it includes
memorizing and understanding of the external environment. According to the Piaget's cognitive
3

development theory, the infant develops his senses to learn the things in the environment. They
start accomplishing their act about their needs by start thinking how it can fulfil. It is basically
occurs from the interaction with the environment. He believes that the child take an progressive
role in learning and understanding process. When the infant interact with the surroundings they
develop the new knowledge about any information. The Linguistic development refers to the
language development in the child from which they can understand speech of others. As the child
mainly tries to communicate and express their feelings in the first 3 years of development
through speech and language (Hendry and et.al.,2016). It also includes the sounds which are
used by the infants to aware the adults about their needs. This supports the child in maintaining
and developing the relationship to their surroundings. In this, the child also initiate the
understanding of others language and speech.
The interrelatedness of development and learning is define as the effect of these
factors on the learning and reading development of the child. As the cognitive development helps
the infant in learning and analysing the other behaviour. This will develop the child's ability to
adapt the surrounding by understanding and this will influence their development. The social
development help the infant to develop by interacting with others in which they try to
communicate with others about their requirements. This will help them to develop the mind state
of the infant in which a child can freely interact. The physical development refers to the growth
of the body and brain which help in the development and learning process of the infant. With
good strength of brain, the infant find easily to adapt new things and can learn quickly about the
new things. This also includes in helping the infant many activities such as games and other act
which increase the understanding and developing of brain power. In the emotional development,
the development and learning of a child depends on the child ability to express their feelings and
emotions to others. This will help the child in his development process as he slowly start
understanding of communication with others (Menon and et.al., 2016). The linguistic
development helps the child in reading and learning process during his day life. As the infants
start growing, they start developing speech which help them to communicate in a better way.
Describe, analyse and critique the impact of the social, environmental and cultural context on the
development of babies and young children

factors. A crucial relationship among social, environmental as well as cultural aspects has been
found for the successful development of a growing baby. Such factors affect the habit, lifestyle,
surroundings and upbringing of the child, which majorly affects them in their later part of life.
The impacts of given factors may be positive or negative, thus their influence shape the life of a
baby and determines the type of life the infants ranging from 1-3 years will lead. The impacts of
social factors are many, the social development define as a procedure through which the baby
learns to communicate with other people in their surrounding. As the child matures, they sooner
or later build their personal identity within their society, during this process they learn the skills
to interact with other people (Chalmers, 2016). The social environment affects the kind of nature
and attribute the baby will build with their family members and society, because such factors
actually decide how the baby after growing into adult will interact socially.
The physical surrounding like housing, education facility, literacy rate, health status and
area for recreational activities. Such physical factors are covered under social environment,
which basically include the surrounding of baby. The nature of such factor is determined by the
parenting method which eventually influence the welfare of children. The accessibility of
community resources like support from the society, knowledge, political influences, government
policies, organisations which are existing within the community. The degree to which such
resources are available in the society heavily affects the individuals health as a child or as an
adult. Babies who are sustaining in underprivileged, socially deprived societies has antagonistic
impacts on the child growth. The impacts of such factors affects the self esteem of the baby.
Development of healthy social relationships are necessary to build confidence and self esteem.
Generally, people develop relationship with each other to attain a common goal. The child who
is unsuccessful in making new friends may become frustrating and less confident (Dillon, 2016).
Development of healthy group of friends results in comforting the child and aids in forming their
own identity among the community. Fortifying learning qualities is another impact of good
social development. Attaining good relations and high interaction leads in strengthening the
adaptive and learning skill which helps in adjusting in the school settings and assist in facing
future challenges. Children who have been observed to have trouble in settling and
communicating are due to bad social influence. Due to the development of self esteem and high
learning qualities , the baby adopt in resolving conflicts more effectively as compared to those

who does not get access to proper community resources, high physical surroundings and smooth
social relationships.
The environmental factors also play an essential role and can be as powerful as other
factor in development and maturation of infants. Nurturing environment delivers overall
psychological and mental growth of the baby, thus clean and healthy environment must be
rendered to the baby in their life's first three years. These years have been considered as most
crucial because the cognitive capacity of child is highly sensitive at this age, thereby the affect of
external environment is broad. The bond with the family widely aid in nurturing as well as
safeguarding the baby emotionally. The role of parents including, discipline, fun, easy going and
well mannered positively affects the environment of the baby and they learn to behave decently
and sophisticatedly (Sarkar and et.al., 2016). During this period, the required motor skills are
developed which is learned easily while playing with the family members. The children who
does not get proper parenting advice and being mislead with the house surrounding are tends to
be more aggressive, depressed and manner less. The infants who are raised by such parents who
argue in front of their child or fight over many issues are often observed to sacred and less
motivated.
The financial situation is another environmental factor which affects the growth of the
baby. Money has been always considered as a influencing factor which decide the type of life a
person will live. The access to wealth form the initial stage of life has a large impact on the
maturation of the child. Parents who are rich can supply good stuffs to their child and can render
such facilities which a normal parent can not afford. The child of such rich parents are more
extrovert and has high cognitive development. The baby who is born in poor or average
family may not get proper access to the resources needed for the high development of cognitive
growth, due to such cause the child may face difficulty in learning or may suffer from poor
language formation. Wealth also assist in securing the future of child by providing better
education, opportunities to explore more and high training, such access make the child more
confident and independent in their life (Dong and et.al., 2017). The quality of nutrition provided
to the child greatly affects the physical and overall growth. Type of food and nutrients eaten by
mother during pregnancy also influence the mental build of a baby. Unhealthy diet may lead to
physical complications like less birth weights, stillbirths, stunned growth. The breast milk
contains all necessary carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, fats, proteins and antibodies which may

get affected by the type of food and surrounding the mother is in. Infants that sustain on breast
milk are more healthy and free from diseases when compared to the one who does not such
milk. These babies have better cognition. Access to healthy food after six months is necessary as
it provide the baby with vitamin A, calcium, iron which make them free form serious disorders
like goitre, anaemia and so on. The child who does not get such minerals and vitamins also have
low motor skills (Von, 2016).
Cultural factors like costumes, beliefs, social behaviours of individuals in a society is
known as culture. It plays an important role in the development and growth of babies and young
children. Children gain some particular inputs from the environment as they are growing up in
different cultures. This is the most common reason that there is a big difference between beliefs
and behaviours of young children. Culture are basically a set of beliefs, attitudes, behaviours and
values which are share by a group of individuals in a community. Babies as well as young
children are consider as product of culture they have been exposed to within and outside their
home. In a period from birth to almost five years of age, children mostly goes through large
number of transformational such as size, biological organisation, behaviours and many more.
Impact of different cultures on the development of young children could be negative or positive.
Familial culture is a certain culture which is followed in each an every home. As the child's first
learning starts from observing what is going on in the home, it is obvious that the culture which
is being adapted in a home greatly influence the behaviour of child weather negatively or
positively. As a parent, it is important to develop a healthy and a safe environment inside the
home so that it will cause a positive impact on the babies and young children.
Community culture also plays a major role in the growth and development of the young
children and babies. Bel ifs and value of the individuals in a community directly impacts the
learning and development of a child. It can be positive for children through putting investments
which supports cognitive and a healthy social development (Meredith, 2019). When a child
develops in a positive and a supportive environment, he/she is most likely to be succeed in
school life and be able to build strong community in future. Community developers work can
impact the quality of surroundings where the child is growing and developing. For instance, high
quality of care, affordable and safe housing, community centres for health, playgrounds and
some food outlets help in nurturing the overall environment for children. Such environments also
help in to do peer interactions and will provide safer place for socializing as well as contributing

in after school activities. There are number of resources available to the parents such as
educational toys, governmental policies and progress reports for evaluating the growth of their
children. However, such methods are use for making them count, draw, talk and respect others,
but how they has been developed is totally dependent on the culture. How a child think or behave
come directly from what they are receiving from others and from the surrounding environment.
Outside-home culture also plays a significant part in the growth and development of the
children. Number of educational institutions like schools has the most crucial role in shaping a
culture for a child for adapting it for the rest of the life. It can be negative or positive but children
mostly grab and observe things at schools as there is a proper environment for learning there.
Language also plays an important part in maintain and creating a positive culture (Dalli and
White, 2017). Many parents talk to their children differently an in their ow native language
which cause the child to do so in his/her future days. Thus, culture can be consider as a sum of
ideologies to which children are exposed to from a large number of sources and different
environment surrounding to them. It is necessary to keep the young children and babies in a
healthy and positive environment for their overall growth and development.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it can be concluded that the early years specially from birth to
three years is the most crucial period for overall growth and development of child. Brain of the
child develops rapidly in the starting of first three years. It is basically a period of social,
cognitive, motor and emotional development. Each and every child's experience in the early
stage of life effect the overall health conditions, well-being and skills for the rest of the life. Safe
parenting is very necessary and crucial in this particular stage. Different aspects of development
of young children such as emotional, social, physical as well as linguistic development play an
important role in learning and development. However, the impacts of social, cultural and
environmental aspects on development of babies an young children could be both negative or
positive and totally dependent on the quality of care being provided to them.
