BPM Model for the Book Selling Process
Narrative of the business process
The model depicts the process of book selling and buying of books by customers that is
students in this case. The process begins whenever a customer that is student requests to sell or
buy a book. The students willing to sell their books are being procured as second hand with a
certain percentage of discount. Only 30% is being given to seller of the book and the books are
procured as per request of teaching staff. Then the book is updated in the inventory so that it
becomes available for buying by other students. A 10% fee on every book being sold has to be
given to the university as concession license fee. The books are checked for their condition
before acquisition so that those can be utilized in the next study period by other students. The
delivery of books is being carried out with the help of courier service that is DHL or FedEx.

Hence, the process model has been designed to digitize the existing process of procuring second
hand books and delivering it to other students. The process depicts that an Online Bookstore
system will helpful for carrying out the required activities in selling and buying of second hand
books. The seller and buyer both in this process is student hence, it has been decided that
development of an Online Bookstore system will be suitable so that students can place their
request for buying or selling as per their own convenience. In the process model, appropriate
BPM (Business Process Modelling) notations has been used to ensure success of the system. The
checking conditions have been implemented to ensure that the customers can be aware about the
order status such as whether the requested book is available or not. If a particular book is not
available then request is being forwarded to procure that book. Upon successful placing of order
the customer is notified about the delivery and after successful payment the courier business
confirms payment. The customer then confirms delivery of the book and payment
acknowledgement upon which the process is stated as complete.
Online book shop structure is the central limit of the trading stage for the site, customers
would interface be able to with the Internet through the PC into the online book shop and after
that check the book information and make a purchase. With the online book shop structure,
clients do not need to aimlessly go to various spots to find their own specific books, anyway just
in a PC related with the Internet sign on online book shop system, in the chase box, type you
have to find the book information recuperation, you can beneficially know whether the website
page has its own specific books, if you can online direct purchase, if not, you can change the
home book shop to continue seeking or offer advice to the seller to supply, This uncommonly
