Introduction
Psychology refers to science of mind and behaviour. Basically, it is a phenomenon of
scrutiny of conscious, unconscious, feelings and thought of an individual. Video game is
defined as electronic game which is involved within communication among users interface for
generating visual feedback with respect to two or three dimensional video display device like
virtual reality headset, touch-screen, etc (Anderson and et. al, 2010). The activities which are
carried out by individuals create a probable impact on their behaviour and it is assumed that
same is being done by playing violent video games. This essay will provide an insight into
impact that is being created on individuals by video games on their behaviour in terms of
aggressive nature. In this context research will be carried out with respect to work done by
different researcher.
Main Body
Video games are kind of entertainment that is being enjoyed by adults as well as children
on daily. They can be related with dance, sports or mystery games which furnishes hours of
entertainment. But there are certain controversial violent video games which make people
aggressive as well as develop hostile attitude among children. To understand the concept of
video game violence and aggression an instance can be taken like Pubg is a video game which
can be played in groups and if someone dies in game due to mistake of other then they get hyper.
When such kind of games is played in continuity then this is obvious that there will be sudden
impact on their aggressiveness levels or the way in which they behave (Ferguson, 2020).
Exposure to video games is not harmful but excessive involvement within them and spending lot
of time playing them will have significant impact on individuals. For an instance any online
game is played with different players those are from different cultures and same game is played
for hours then different sort of conversation takes place then obviously the environment which
prevails within game is completely different from the one in real life so this will have probable
impact on their intensity levels or ways in which they behave.
Studies illustrates that when violent video games are played then it leads to enhancement
of aggressive behaviour, feelings and thoughts in both short as well as long term (Teng and et. al,
2020). Violent video games desensitize people to see aggressive behaviour along with this
