Executive summary
Sudden onset of mutations in the genes that are responsible for the growth and division of
cells. These mutations result in the uncontrolled division and/or multiplication of the cells in
a chaotic manner. Breast cancer typically develops in the ducts and lobules of the breast and
are also found to occur in the fibrous connective tissues that are located in the breast. The
report found that alcohol consumption, smoking habit and overweight were major risk factors
that predisposed Jade to breast cancer. Furthermore, she might have also become susceptible
due to heredity. Liverpool Cancer Service Centre was identified as the best service centre that
Jade could access for her treatment.
