Introduction
Fast Track Courier is a courier company which is situated in Sydney and established
15 years before. The company is running in New South Wales from the last 15 years.
They help their customers in every aspect if the customer faces any problem. The
main work of the company is to deliver small and large all types of packages across
Sydney. They provide services in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide. They
have been working with DHL, FedEx, Fastway from many years. The company helps
people to compare courier companies and also helps them in selecting the best one.
3. Analysis
Need for change:
Fast Track Courier Company has faced a lot of internal and external challenges in
their organizational structure that’s why they need to improve their organization. If
they increase their market share and provide delivery of packages in a short period of
time then the structure of the company will need to improve and people of the country
prefer to use their services over others. Only this thing will make the company unique.
They deliver the packages late from the scheduled time. It is clear that the company
didn’t arrange any training sessions for the employees (Eisenhardt, Graebner and
Sonenshein, 2016). Human resource management of the company should arrange
some training sessions to improve the organizational structure of the company.
Organization’s strategic plans
The Strategic goal of the organization is to expand its business in metropolitan areas.
Their aim is to increase market share by 7.5%. For the smooth delivery of the
packages, the company has planned to utilize technologies like GPS and PDA devices

(Chen, 2015). They had also started some training sessions for the employees so that
they work properly.
4. Organization’s performance
People:
The goal of the company is affected by the employees as they don’t feel safe in the
company. Employees don’t feel motivated which affects their work and decrease their
productivity. It is also said that the organization has planned to implement a tracking
system in the vehicles because of which employees think that employers don’t trust
them (Podsakoff, MacKenzie and Podsakoff, 2016). The Organization has also
changed its policy that from now only one driver will be there in one truck, not two
drivers.
Process:
The distribution process of the organization is very slow because of which company
delivers the packages late and disappoints its customers. The company has
implemented PDA systems in their vehicles to improve their delivery but employees
think that the PDA system is the only reason for the delay of the delivery (Boström, et
al., 2015).
Technology:
As the company improved its technology by implementing GPS and PDA devices in
the vehicles because of which employees thought the company has lost trust in them
which leads to the late delivery of the packages (Shahin, Babar and Zhu, 2017). The
increase in technology created a lot of issues in the organization between employees
and employers.

Structure:
The General Manager of the company doesn’t participate in the operation because of
which they don’t know about the problem and issues prevailing in the organization.
General Manager of the organization has implemented a lot of strategies and policies
to improve the condition of the company based on the report (Sîrbu, 2018).

Competitors and Government Legislation are the two external trends of the
organization.
Impact of external trends on organizational objectives
Competitors: Many courier companies in the market provide good services with
advanced technologies, as every courier company has tracking devices in their
vehicles (Roblek, 2018). Other companies have also maintained trust with their
employees by providing them incentives, bonuses, salary increments, and health life
insurance plans.
Government legislation: Government is increasing road taxes day by day because of
which company has to increase their prices. The company has already increased the
prices of its services in September.
6. Operation change Requirements
Changes due to gaps in Performance: The organization has implemented a new
strategy that only one driver will go in one truck, not two so that they assign more
drivers at a time and deliver the package on time. PDA devices are the only reason
why packages are not delivered on time as employees think that their employers don’t
trust them. The organization has also purchased new trucks to improve their
management.

Changes due to Business Opportunities: The Company has planned to increase its
market share by 7.5% and the organization has also planned to buy 8 to 10 new trucks
to increase their efficiency (Melkonyan, et al., 2017). They have also planned to
expand their services in rural areas as this will help them increase their customers.
Changes due to Threats: Fast track Courier Company has faced a lot of problems if
we compared to other courier companies and the government has increased road taxes
because of which company has to increase its service charge. This is the reason why
the company lost popularity in the market.
Changes due to the decisions of the Management Team: As it is already known that
the management team didn’t organize any training sessions for the employees.
Without any training session employees and the drivers became uninterested in GPS
and PDA.
7. Identifying change requirements
A requirement of Specialists: Company has to hire some IT specialist for the
improvement of technologies which they have recently implemented. IT specialist
will tell the employees and drivers of the vehicles about the new technology which
will lead to the improvement in the organization. An organization should also hire
some human resource specialists so that they motivate the employees and drivers and
increase their productivity (Beckham, et al., 2016). Employees of the companies don’t
accept the change easily that’s why the company needs one human resource specialist.
Requirements of Models: The organization needs to implement the Harvard Model of
Human Resource and the company analysis model for the market analysis.

This model comprises of six components:

Company analysis model: The company analysis model is used to analyze the market.
This model is very helpful in improving the company’s reputation.
The company will use the Harvard model of human resource management to engage
specialists because it deals with all the problems related to humans and this problem is
related to employees and drivers.
8. The requirement of change management
Change management is very important for the company because it helps in
implementing three types of changes i.e. Structural change, process change, and
cultural change. If these changes will take place in the company then the market share
of the company will increase by 8%. An increase in 8% of the market share of the
company will lead the company to the top.
Structural change:-The changes take place in an organization that affects how the
company is run. Sometimes changes are negative and sometimes negative it depends
upon the organization.

Process change:-When the change comes in the process of the organization is known
as process change. Every process includes some steps so increasing, decreasing and
modifying those steps comes under process change.
Cultural change:-The change in the culture of an organization is known as cultural
change. This change is the most difficult change because it affects the goals,
objectives, and aims of the organization. But all three changes help the organization to
rise and improve in the market.
9. Information required to the managers and change requirements
The General Manager of the company should be informed first as he/she never comes
to the office. General Manager of the company generally handles the challenges of the
road and don’t have any idea of the office and operations. It is clear that the
organization needs four types of changes i.e. employees to change, structural change,
process change, and cultural change and it is the work General manager to bring those
changes in the organization.
Change requirement:
Employees change:-When organizational changes take place it reduces the negative
impact on the employees. Change the mindset of the employees by providing them
good training.
Structural change:-There is some structure of every organization and on that
structure, the only company runs, change in the structure of the company is known as
structural change.

Process change:-The change takes place in the steps of the process. This change is
very important because it helps the Courier Company deliver their packages on time
and before time as it sometimes decreases some steps.
Cultural change:-The change which directly show an impact on the goals and
objectives of the company.
10. Recommendation
Fast track Courier Company is very popular in Sydney as it compares many courier
companies but due to some reasons, it was losing its place in the market. The reason
for the company’s degradation is bad management and less use of technologies. We
live in a Modern world where technology plays a vital role in everyone’s life. If the
company improves its technology then they would be able to deliver their packages on
time because no one has time nowadays as they are so busy in their lives. The
company should make changes in its structure, process, and culture so that they trust
employees and employees trust employers. The organization should hire some
specialists for the employees as they will help them in learning new techniques. The
General Manager of the organization should visit the office frequently to improve the
management system.
