INTRODUCTION
Managing change in an organisation is related with planning and implementing change in
company so that employee resistance can be minimised along with reducing cost of company
which can help in maximising the effectiveness of change effort. Leading and managing change
in company can help in bringing innovation in its processes, products and services sop that the
changing customer demands can be efficiently met and a competitive advantage can be gained in
market. In this report the ways in which change can be efficiently managed in an organisation
will be discussed. Samson Media is taken in this report so that change management can be
studied in an efficient manner which can help it in becoming successful in the market and
increase its sustainability.
TASK 1
1) Explain the key phases of a change management process
Change management process is the sequence of steps or activities which are followed by
the change management team so that change can be efficiently applied in company.
Identify need for change: At this stage the need for introducing change in company is
analysed by determining the opportunities and threats that are present in business
environment (Al-Ali And et. al., 2017) Preparing teams: This stage relates to aligning employees of company so that they can
embrace change in company.
Implementation: This relates to the stage where change is finally implemented in
company which can be done by breaking down change into smaller and more actionable
components.
2) Explain three reasons why an organisation might initiate change
Organisations implement change so that they can adapt with the changing business
environment along with following other reasons: Change in customer taste: With the changing customer needs and wants company needs
to implement change in their processes, products and services so that they can achieve
high customer satisfaction. Performance gaps: In order to improve the performance of employees it is important that
changes are brought in company so that employee efficiency can be enhanced.
