Information for students
Knowledge questions are designed to help you demonstrate the knowledge which you have acquired
during the learning phase of this unit. Ensure that you: review the advice to students regarding answering knowledge questions in the Business Works
Student User Guide

submit work which is original and, where necessary, properly referenced
submit a completed cover sheet with your work

Note: You must complete and submit an assessment cover sheet with your work. A
template is provided in Appendix C of the Student User Guide. However, if your RTO

Provide answers to all of the questions below:
1. Explain what is meant by each of the marketing concepts, by completing the table below:
Marketing
concept
Description
Production Production term simply means manufacturing or making of the products by the company
where in the context of the marketing the production concept assumes that the consumer
favors the affordable products and services from where the company is required to keep their
focus on the production and distribution process and can be able to improve their marketing
and attracting the consumers in definite manner.
Product Product is something from where organization offer and deliver to the consumer which fulfill
the needs and requirements of the people and allow them to grow and develop in effective
manner. Product should be in better quality from where the people needs can be fulfilled in
definite manner and can result appropriately. However, the product is the thing in marketing
where it is the only purpose from where the people gets attract effectively.
Selling Selling is the part of the marketing where it is kind of strategy to sell the products and services
to the customer from where the company or an individual organization can be able to obtain
the effective results and outcome. In general, it is the process of selling the products of the
company to the customers from where the customer needs and market needs can be fulfilled
effectively.
Societal Societal marketing is the concept where the organization keeps their focus on their society
needs and desires from where organization can be able to provide the obtain the effective
results and outcome. However, the concept refers where they hold the organization to take the
appropriate marketing decisions not only by considering the consumer wants and company
requirements and have to consider the societal interest.
2. Explain the contrast between internal and external data.
In the marketing field there are two types of data which has been collected by the company to
increase their productivity in definite manner. The term internal data simply refers as data and
information gathered from the internal areas of the workplace which includes business
management team, finance, maintenance, operations and such more whereas the external data is
collected from the outer side of the company such as customers and market.
3. Provide two examples each of the sources of marketing information by completing the table below:
