Introduction
The project plan consists of project aims and objectives with some success criteria for the
project. The scope of project, its assumptions and also constraints are identified with proper
scheduling of the plan. The project stakeholders are identified those are involved in the project
work with a communication plan to interact with each other. Risks are identified on time before
it affects the project completion time and causes delay into finishing of the project. Cost is
estimated by providing justification on cost with its control.
1.0 Background of the project
The project plan is based on building of monuments in coastal town of Portmouthempton
to celebrate the success of their town. Twin monuments are built on either side of the main road
in the town. The council of the town is concerned about the completion of the project on time
and within estimated budget. The council estimated the budget as £ 10,000,000 and the total time
to finish the building work of twin monument is within two years.
2.0 Project Aim and objectives
The project aim is to plan and design of twin monuments for the success of coastal town
of Portmouthempton with representing of complex architectural challenges. It needs of civil
engineering along with coordination of labor. The purpose behind building of the monuments is
to bring the monuments as well as local heritage into heart of the community. The coastal town
of Portmouthempton helps the community to embrace the heritage and medieval the town wall.
The main aim is to build the monument for serving the focal point for the heritage, educational as
well as recreational activities to encourage the population of the town.
The objectives of this project plan are:
To build of twin monuments in coastal town of Portmouthempton to celebrate the
success of their town.
To involve into conservation as well as interpretation of the heritage sites into the

3.0 Success criteria of the project
The success criteria of the project plan are that the entire project plan is discussed with all
the departments so that each and every one should provide their feedback on them. Before
building of the monuments, the quality of soil is being checked. All the raw materials for the
building work are to be procured properly with better quality. The raw material should be of best
quality along with the ordered should be delivered on time. A report is being made based on
length as well as breadth of the pillar of the monuments. The leveling of the monuments and the
side road of the twin monuments should be same as estimated by the civil department. From all
the departmental heads such as civil, mechanical, financial, electrical and procurement, the data
reports are gathered to become familiar with the project status. The project plan should finish
within estimated time and budget so that there should be no possibility of project delay.
4.0 Project scope, assumptions and constraints
4.1 Project Scope
The scope of this project work is to include of work surface cleaning, preparation as well
as painting of the twin monuments which is built on either side of the main road in the town. The
building of the monuments are based on providing historical education to people of the coastal
town of Portmouthempton in order to celebrate their town’s success.
4.2 Assumptions and constraints

1. It is assumed that the project resources are manpower as well as materials. It is also
assumed that the human resources work for 40 hours per week on day shift. All the
materials required to complete the project is available.
2. The estimated project budget should meet with the actual cost of the project plan. It is
assumed that the total cost will not increase on daily basis. There are no such changes
into personnel cost, material cost and resource cost.
Following are the project constraints:
Design constraints: It includes of technology availability, design materials, specific
requirement of performance, site form and restrictions of planning in addition to building
regulations. When the design of the project work will not meet with the building plan, then it
becomes a constraint for the project plan.
Technical constraints: It consists of processes to complete the construction activities
such as building methods and construction standards. At the time of construction foundation, site
is leveled before excavation is taken place. Other constraints are tolerances related to
construction, available storage, site access routes and others.
Time constraints: It includes of project schedule and milestones. There should be proper
start of the project plan along with on time completion within scheduled date.
Economic constraints: It is related to the project budget along with resource allocation.
When the cost of the project plan becomes over budgeted, then it provides a negative impact on
the project success along with its quality.
5.0 Implementation and project schedule of the project

The project is based on building of monuments in coastal town of Portmouthempton with

Initiation phase takes of 227 days starts from Tue 12/5/17 to Wed 10/17/18. Planning phase takes

with duration of 53 days starts from Mon 8/6/18 to Wed 10/17/18. There are no sub-activities
under the planning phase. The execution phase has sub-activities of site work of 19 days (Tue
2/19/19- Fri 3/15/19), Foundation with 79 days (Mon 3/18/19- Thu 7/4/19), Electrical work of 47
days (from Fri 7/5/19 to Mon 9/9/19), Procurement is total duration of 27 days from Tue 9/24/19
to Wed 10/30/19. Finally, the closure phase has no such sub-activities.

owner is Project Manager.
Monthly project status meeting: The objective is report on status of the project plan and

Project status reports: The objective is discussing the status with the team members and

Civil incident report: The objective is discusses all the civil work in the plan such as
design and layout of the monuments with design of blueprint through email. Immediate after the
civil work is the frequency. All the project stakeholders are the audiences and project manager is

minor. Therefore, the risk level is medium. The risk response strategy is proper project
