Introduction
Business firms exist, run and operate their operational activities in a business environment which
consists of micro and macro factors impacting the performance of a business in long run. In
order to function and manage business operations successfully it is essential for the organisation
to conduct ongoing analysis and evaluation of the impact macro and micro environmental factors
have over business with the aim of mitigating the risk and readiness to deal with future
uncertainties and challenges (Mercadé Melé, Molina Gómez and Sousa, 2020). Nando’s is well
recognised fast food chain which is specialised in Portuguese and African food with its signature
flame-grilled peri peri style chicken. The company was founded in the year 1987, headquartered
at Johannesburg, South Africa. The objective of the report is to analyse the impact macro
environment have over business with the help of PESTLE and SWOT analysis and influence of
globalisation over Nando’s business strategy and decision making.
The type, size and scope of the Nando’s
TYPE
There are the three basic types of organisation in the business environment such as private,
public and voluntary organisation. The Nando’s is the private food chain organisation based in
South Africa. The company is considered under private type of organisation therefore owned by
individuals that are not the part of government bodies and is driven for profit. Under the private
organisational sector the company is partnership firm means it is owned by two individuals who
are the founder of the organisation named as Fernando Duarte and Robert Brozin (NGUYEN and
DO, 2020).
SIZE
The Nando’s operates more than thousand outlets in approx 35 countries. Company has
employed large numbers of unemployed young recruiters of the South Africa and trained them
and provided them skills to get ready to enter into the workplace of Nando's. The company has
provided more than 3000 graduates a job in the recent years. Recently the company has 8,000
employees in the UK, 2000 employees in India and many more in other 33 countries all around
the globe.
