Inorder to efficient conduct of this study, researcher has selected ASDA and UNICEF as a mediumto highlight prospect of profit and non-profit organization. Researcher has provided briefinformation about organizational overview and the purpose of each organization. Moreover,through discussing the size and scope of both organizations, researcher has linked about how thebusiness objective and structure is getting affected. Task a. Overview of the selected organizations Background, objective and structure of ASDAA group of farmer was responsible to establish the second largest chain of supermarket of UnitedKingdom in the year of 1965. Currently the company is holding 16.8% of total grocery market inUK. The wide range of product and services offering to consumer such as drink, generalmerchandise, food and clothing and so on has been a success pillar for ASDA. ASDA is famousto provide most economical services and products to consumers compared to other. However,two marketing campaign of ASDA is always a deep concern for the competitors as “ASDAPrice” and “Rollback” campaign. Moreover, the crown of “Lowest Price Supermarket” of UKhad drawn the huge concern over approach of ASDA. With global presence over 631 locations,ASDA has deployed around 180,000 employees. Being a profit company, ASDA was ownedprivately (Referenceforbusiness.com. 2017). The main purpose of ASDA is to entertain the UK consumer with the rate of product as per theirwish. The company is committed to widen the gap of price between competitors of ASDA thus,improving the source to recognize and encourage the customer value. Through reducing the costof packaging, ASDA focus on increasing the cost of fresh product selling loose from the boxes.In order to supply the quality products and services at lower price, ASDA purchases the productsfrom high competitive suppliers. Focusing the goal and objective, UNICEF had strong prediction of completeeradication of childhood polio through 2005. UNICEF is regarded as better-known organizationconsidering the welfare and health of children. Being a public and non-profit company, UNICEFis highly regarded to provide the quality services to children in the context of health and socialcare. After the end of World War II, the adverse impact was remarkable in predominating theserious health issues to children thus, rose of UNICEF took place in order to aid and providingthe emergency food to children affected from the war. Talking about the voluntary contribution of UNICEF, the establishment of national committeewas observed in all over 34 countries. These committees are responsible for collecting fund fromthe private sector and adding one-third of the annual income of UNICEF. Since most of the workof UNICEF is conducted in the field, the presence of staffs in over 190 countries and theterritories states about the sustainable development of the company. The added milestone in thesuccess of UNICEF was crowned with Nobel Peace Prize (1965) and Prince of Asturias Award(2006). The strong commitment of UNICEF towards achieving the goal of making children poliofree world has been significant remark (founded, 2017). Task b. Scope and size of operationsProspective of ASDA After the establishment of ASDA, company experienced rapid growth in the retail industry. Withthe presence in 631 locations, ASDA has set a milestone for reaching to the maximum customer.It has now become a primary choice of UK customers as well as many Asian and Americanconsumers. Apart from that, with over 180,000 employees, ASDA is giving tough challenge tocompetitors and focusing on investment to the customer interest. Despite of decreased sales inthe year 2015, ASDA could avail the annual turnover of 1.013billion pounds followed by 946million in 2014. However, the profit was experienced lower at the end of 2016 with 12%decrement in sales and net revenue. After 2003, ASDA became world’s second largestsupermarket chain.
