Managing of Supply Chain includes managing the flow of goods as well as the flow of
services in an organization. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is considered as the integral part
of the business as well as it is considered as an essential part of the company success as well as
customer satisfaction.
Proper management of SCM helps to boost the customer service and customer expects
correct product assortment as well as quantity of the products delivered. The customers expects
products that are available at right location and right delivery time (Heizer et al., 2017). The
SCM helps to reduce the operating cost by decreasing the purchasing cost as well as decreasing
the production cost of the product. Proper management of SCM helps to decrease the cost of
SCM in the organization.
Proper SCM helps to improve the financial position of the organization as well as
decreases the fixed assets of the organization. This helps to increase the cash flow in in the
organization. Management of SCM helps in sustaining the human life and improves quality of
life (Stadtler, 2015). SCM in an organization creates job vacancies in the organization by
involving transportation, inventory, packaging, transportation, and logistics information in the
organization. Managing of SCM helps to develop the career and provide protection to cultural
freedom as well as development in the organisation.
A real life example of implementing SCM in the business process is The Coco Cola
Company. The preparation of their products, distributing them, as well as transporting the
logistics are done through SCM and segmentation strategy for their customers. The company has

SCM technology and also participates in the sponsorships, alliances as well as partnerships that
creates management as well as increases the marketing of the products.
Leadership involved in Supply Chain Management
SCM plays an important role in a business success and it is included from small
companies to large multinational companies. The leader who manages the SCM in an
organization might include owner of the business who conducts operational logistics and
delegate the operational logistics to their staff members and to all other logistics companies. In
many organization, the departments are included in the logistics development system and are
included in execution, information system, market analysis, transportation, and in research as
well as design.
The main essence that is included in the supply chain mainly consists of seeing the
product and the service of the company from the beginning including all the different
departments as well as in the production stage and in the delivery stage. The leader of supply
chain does not accomplish all the tasks that are necessary for organizing the process of supply
chain management. Leaders include hiring of people with the right skills, training them
accordingly, as well as monitoring them and upholding them with the performance standards
(Fahimnia, Sarkis & Davarzani, 2015). The leaders in SCM make use of the industry metrics,
market the data, as well as include the tools of other information system and improve the
performance of the organization implementing strategic innovation as well as decision making.
SCM leadership can be clearly understandable by the example of Colgate Company. As
their products are sold in many places that includes pharmacies, stores, whole sellers, as well as
