the firm improves.
With the increase in globalization, the rise of international business is significant and
this rise results in the incorporation of employees from varied cultural backgrounds. In the
cross-cultural business organizations, there are often cases of hindrances caused by the
difference in the cultural backgrounds of the employees. These barriers can be removed by
the proper implementation of business communication among the employees. To support this
view, the views of Silveira and Carlos can be incorporated, who state that with effective and
efficient communication among the people belonging to different cultures, the firm can
flourish (Silveira & Carlos, 2013).
The advent of the social media platforms has made various firms to promote their
brand identities through several online avenues. The marketing of products online also gives
rise to the communication with the customers online that in turn is an aspect of the business
communications. With proper feedbacks from the customers the firms can enhance their

perspective can be supported by the views of Baruah, who discusses the efficiency of the
social media to enhance the communication between the firm and the customers (Baruah,
2012).
Another facet that implies the significance of the business communications is the

organizations in order to spread awareness among the consumers regarding various subjects
such as protection of the environment, feminism and so on. With the proper implementation
of the CSRs, there can be an enhancement in the firm’s communication with the consumers.
The aforementioned view can be verified by taking the example of the views presented by
Story and Neves, as they state in their paper that the CSRs improve the productivity of the
employees and also provide avenues for communicating with customers (Story & Neves,
2015).
With effective business communications, the functioning of the firm is enhanced. This
view can be reinforced by the views of Drury-Grogan and Russ. In their study, Drury and
Russ displays how the incorporation of the business communications in the curriculum of
students can enhance their performance (Drury-Grogan & Russ, 2013). The simulation
conducted by the aforementioned authors indicate the fact that with the better understanding

the functions of management. Therefore, the importance of the business communications can
be perceived from the performance of the students after the simulation was conducted.

employees. With enhanced communication system among the employees and their employers
and managers, there remains a clarity in their relationships. The employees can function
better and with the proper communication with their supervisors, the employees can also
voice their concerns more promptly, which shall also improve their individual productivity.
The same can be proved with the views of Mishra, Boynton and Mishra, who claim in their
paper that the transparency in the communication between the various levels of an
organization can prove to be beneficial for both the firm and its employees (Mishra, Boynton
& Mishra, 2014). Hence, the importance of business communication is immense.
