Discussing the general theories for the organizational communication
To the existence of the organization communication is demonstrated as the central
component. Theories of the organizational communication are:
Bureaucracy: Max Weber, German sociologist developed the theory of Bureaucracy. According
to the theory it assumes that in the organization each member follow the hierarchy approach in
which the communication reaches from the one member to the top-level person for the
command. From the classical school the Bureaucracy comes for the communication of
organization (Manning, 1992). To the organizational communication it is important to ensure
absolute chain of command, controlling of workers and predicability of behaviour. An
impersonal structure should be assumed in the ideal organization according to the theorists, also
the rules should be clearly set. It will help in the protecting the workers from the abuse of the
power.
Tompkins and Cheney's organizational control theory: The theory of Cheney's and Tompkins
organization control is the extent of the Weberian theory. The organization which were moving
past to the bureaucratic mode were yet to amorphous totally. There are the four kinds of control
which were hold in the theory (Charles, 1979). The concertive, technical, simple and the
bureaucratic were determined in the exercise power in organization. According to the
organization progression the four types of control were defined.
Theory X and Theory Y: Douglas McGregor developed this motivation theory. On the nature
of the human the assumption was directly opposed. On the contribution and the performance of
the worker they were rewarded as suggested by the McGregor (Manning, 1992). It also
underlines the people recognition, creativity promotion and the self control development was
considered as the greatest assets in the organization.

The barriers discouraging students from studying abroad.
There are many barriers or challenges such as academic barrier, administrative barrier
and pressure of culture shock that discouraging students from studying abroad:
Lack of family and or friends support
for students, family and friends is everything, their support is only thing which is required
for students to study and make career. Everyone need someone to take care of and need support.
But lack of family support and friends helps can lead to problems like feeling lonely and
depressed. It is not always easy for students to make friends overseas or in a new city. The
problem occurs when student is introvert or shy person (Curtis and Ledgerwood, 2018).
Language barrier
This is one of the top listed barrier discourage students from studying abroad. For
example- if student wants to study in countries like US, UK and Australia then they must know
how to speak and learn in English language. The people living in these countries often use
English as the first language. Students coming from different places find it very difficult to speak
fluently in English. The reason behind that is people use different phrases and words as they live
in different countries follows different language and culture. This create cultural
misunderstanding between people studying in the classroom which can also lead to conflict
between them.
Discrimination:
International students can be perceived as outsiders and feel discomfort while studying in
classroom. They are judged on the basis of culture, religion, caste, race due to this they face
problem. Many people in the class make fun of student as they are not much fluent in English.
They are often misunderstood and subject to false assumptions about the native culture (Gong
and et.al., 2021).
Financial Difficulties:
Every student face struggle life while studying abroad or far away from native place.
They have to manage time, finances and plan accordingly everything. Irrespective of all their
efforts to plan finances, budget and manage time and track on expenses throughout their stay at
new place, sometimes it really tough for students to manage everything by their own. This in turn

can lead to heavy depression as well as mental pressure. Even if they are managing everything
perfectly they still end up broke or having less than they need.
Psychological Difficulties:
Some student may feel anxiety disorders and depression while studying far away from
home. This is just because of homesickness, it is something very common among students when
they go for studies in abroad. When they are away from their loved ones especially their parents
the feeling of being homesick occurs. This is also known as emotional difficulties as it is
compounded by social, financial and academic pressures (Curtis and Ledgerwood, 2018).
However, it will impact them immensely when they are bored with everything, so it is always
suggested to stay active while making career in abroad.
Recommendations as strategies to overcome the barriers
Tutors support- It is important for the University management to effectively and
appropriately overcome the certain barriers, that students faced while studying, in the
university (Lei, Cui and Chiu, 2018). They can take key strategies and actions into
consideration, such as planning for tutors support, because majority of student face
barriers to study appropriately, due to lack of family and friends support. It can lead to
decrease their morale and confidence, which is essential during academic years. With
support of tutors, individual learner can feel positive and focus on aim achievement,
better than the last few months or weeks.
Behaviour change and training session- Another strategy along with above one,
University can implement in systematic manner and that is to change the classroom
behaviour, in form of conducting meeting, where all the tutors are invited. This strategy
can help them to make a general, but important discussion about how to make students
stress free and collaborative, so that their study and learning level can be improved or
increased. In the context of similar barrier, training and development session can be
adopted as key tactic, because training is the best source of improvement and
development of skills and practices among individual. It enables teachers to change their
teaching style and make some improvements in the current one, so that they can create a
positive environment, where students prefer to engage themselves, instead of avoiding to
study further.

Adopt new management style- another barrier occur in the context of students who
study abroad is current one. In regard to the administrative barrier, university and its
management can consider the approach or tactic of adopting new management style,
which enable administrative to manage the study related practices of students
appropriately (de Dios and Lapuz, 2020). By using a new management style, they can
take pleasure of increasing the knowledge and learning level of all learners, which is
important for them to do that without making any mistake that affect negatively, upon
both learners and tutors as well as whole university.
Group activity and task- cultural misunderstanding is the major issue that determined or
find in the university where students are studying in the abroad, for purpose of fulfilling
their dreams. In order to eliminate the causes behind current barrier, management can
take approach of planning for group activity and providing team or group based tasks, so
that individual student can develop better understanding of other cultures. It can help to
create positive environment in the classroom, where each culture will be respected by the
others, instead of disrespecting the norms of learners, that they follow under a specific
culture. Group activity can give them opportunity to understand the different cultures and
reason behind why people follow the same. The current term of strategy, along with
above one can benefit students in form of focusing on studying abroad to achieve the aim,
either short, long or medium term, that further enhance the performance of individual
learner.
