INTRODUCTION
The report aims to provide an analysis of business problem that the client is facing. The
business works into both internal and external environment which consist many complexities and
challenges for the company. There are several decision which might seems to be ineffective and
not meant for the current marketplace. Therefore, this shows that the organisation needs to focus
on targeted customers, external market crises and issues which causing difficulties for
organisation (Bustamante, and.et.al 2021). This report is going to analyse the issues for London
School of Science and Technology. The college is working for building better future for students
by providing effective teaching and learning tools. The main aim of the college is to make
students learned with technology and science. The report will described the issues through
analysing external market situations.

Overview of the client and the problem they are facing
The client is London school of science and technology which is a well established
university. It was founded in 2003. It provides many sources like business, computing,
management, IT and health and social care (Allca, 2021). The university has scattered in many
areas which is dividing into four campus. Mainly in London, Birmingham and Luton. The
purpose of this university is to provide effective education and teaching to the students across
worldwide level and all these campuses has easy assess through public transport. In the
education field, there are many issues faced by the college in the current market. One of the main
issue faced by the LSST is to hire professional experts to provide quality learning. The issue
reflect in the situation of Covid-19 which creates problems in providing training and
development, retaining talented individuals and serving better online teaching. Therefore, the
college is focusing on hiring professionals who could manage to grow the university in other
locations also.

Breaking down the problem
As the college is facing problems related to serving great quality education and attaining
growth and development. It is necessary for the college to understand industry factors which are
described below:
Porter's five forces: this model is required to analyse various factors which impact on the
industry. In context of LSST, some important consideration are described below:
Threat of new entrants: In the education industry, threat of new players is high for the
colleges and universities. As there are many educational institutions are opened who are
delivering best services. So that, this factor also causing hurdles for LSST and for that instance,
the college needs to hire more professional expertise to retain students and provide experience of
online teaching.
Bargaining power of suppliers: This factor is important for the LSST college. The
college needs has low low impact of suppliers bargaining power due to having large number of
supplier. The college provide effective services through maintain effective tools and technique.
Bargaining power of customers- As per this tools and technique, bargaining power of
customers has low impact for the college, due to having their standards and quality education,
the college provide great services in all the campus (Calderón Canchanya, and.et.al., 2021). So
that, the students has not bargaining power in education industry. Their courses are in affordable
fees with great facilities which attract students from many places.
Threat of substitute goods: this threat is also prevailing in the education sector. As per
education system, the courses and fields of subjects are same for all. So that, it gives choices to
students to select most appropriate college. This shows that LSST has high threat of this factor.
For which, they need to get more prominent in their quality of services.
Competitive rivalry: This factor shows that competition Is affecting current educational
institutions. due to rise in technology, LSST has facing rivals threat in the market which required
their ficus on providing better learning and enhancing students skills.
STP analysis:
This analysis helps in identifying potential and targeted customers across the
marketplace. This could be done through focus on its crucial elements for LSST college:
Segmentation: This marketing factor is crucial for every organisation. segmenting is
important as it divides the market in sub groups. This makes the targeting easy and assessable for

organisation. The LSST group of college segment the customer above the age group of 16 and
irrespective of their gender, size or any other factors. Therefore, the college segments students to
easily target them and hire professional experts to guide and instruct them.
Targeting: this factor is also important for the organisation to target the most potential
clients for the company (Torre, and.et.al., 2021). Targeting makes marketing perfect and
competitive. The LSST targets those individuals or students who have high interest in
professional learning and focused towards their career.
Positioning: as per this factor, the organisation must build an effective image for their
clients and market. How the customer talk about them, give ratings to their services are all
depends on how they position their brand. Therefore, LSST needs to position through involve in
more active marketing through social media.
Pest analysis
It is the most significant tool to analyse the external market environment. This will help
in analysing macro environment uncertainties to make better strategies.
Political: The UK has good political stability but somehow the organisation are impacted
with some trade barriers and taxes. Therefore, the LSST college has impact of Brexit through
which, they face restrictions to carry out their operations in EU.
Environmental: As per this factor, the companies are required to be environmentally
accountable for their products and services (Dicción Virrueta, and.et.al., 2021). They need to
focus on environment stability through looking for reducing carbon emission, pollution and other
hazardous substances. Therefore, the LSST has positive impact of this factors due to having good
sustainability practices in terms of waste management and hire effective resources such as
professional individuals.
Social: this factor is all about working on the need of society and their demands. The
education sector of UK has high growth and mainly knowledge for quality teaching and services.
Therefore, the LSST college has positive impact which needs to be maintained in the nearby
future by providing professional guidance and fulfil students demand.
Technology: This shows that technology is the impart factor in external environment.
The organisation needs to be focus on technical up gradations and advancements to serve better
society demands (Toralva Safora, and.et.al., 2021). The LSST college has high positive impact

due to having high growth in IT. The college needs to enhance use of software and tools which
will helps students learning and improving skills.
Top three issues of LSST and the ways to mitigate them
There are many issues affecting in the business environment. The LSST college has
facing top issues which are identified below:
Professional expertise: The LSST college of London is facing issues in hiring
professional expertise. These experts must have IT and technical knowledge which require great
hiring and recruitment process. Also, due to Covid-19, they are facing shortage of experiences
lectures and teachers to deliver guidance via online platforms (Thompson, 2018). It shows that,
the college needs to work on providing trainings and developments to the existing professional.
It would eliminate any shortage of workforce and save cost of recruitment and hiring.
Communication issues: These issues are also affecting the business of every industry.
Due to lack of interaction with students and staffs, the college is unable to serve better facilities
and guidance to the students, this impact on the growth of college and retention of students.
Through this way, the college will deliver sound earning practices (Rios, 2021). This creates
competition among colleges due to improver communication. The students are not able to solve
queries that becomes hurdles for college working operations.
Inactive promotional strategies: as per this issue, the LSST unable to promote college
activities and courses in frequent manner. This issue impact on the profitability and reach to the
students. Bad promotional tactics are the reason behind shortage of professionals due to which,
many experts are do not wants to be the part of organisation.
CONCLUSION
The report has concluded that there are many issues and challenges which are faced by
the businesses. There are micro and macro environment uncertainties which causes hurdles in
carry out business activities. The report has shown the issue which are faced by the college.
Also, by analysing pestle tool, the college has impact of political and technological factors that
needs to be overcome. As well as, the report has providing STP analysis which shows, the main
targets of college are career oriented individuals. The top three issues are mainly impact on the
organisation.
