TASK 1 Benefits of Keeping Waste Minimum There are many benefits of keeping less waste at the workplace which is related to good and hygiene working environment, feeling of motivated and dedicated to work, good impact on personal state of mind which are important in order to complete the purpose of which an individual is working in an organisation or any institution(Heald, 2018). Making reduction in wastage through reuse and recycling efforts impacts positively on the environment. Following Agreed Procedures for Recycling, Disposing of Waste and Maintaining Equipments An individual working in the organisation or institution may also work upon the agreed procedures of recycling, disposing of waste and maintaining equipments, by making their proper and optimum use, putting the wastes in dustbin, educate others also about keeping safe the workplace and many more so that positivity could created in the environment in which an individual is working. Ways to Reduce Waste in Business Environment It is important for all to keep their environment safe,clean and hygiene. For this, the focus should be on making reduction in the waste made by them. There are many ways with the help of which it could becomes possible for the employees working in an organisation to reduce waste from the business environment. Implementation of One Suggestion Provided Above The suggestion regarding waste management that can be implemented in the organisation is reduction in packaging, companies may make reduction in the packaging in which plastic is used. It is because plastic is difficult to dispose off and in case of it is burnt than this will impact negatively on the environment. So reduction in the use of plastic during packaging will be helpful and in making reduction in the wastes created in the organisation(Dodge, 2016). Impact of Change With the adoption of this suggestion in the organisation, the changes will be related to the look of the workplace, employees will also feel motivated to work as the environment is good, the workplace will be clean and hygiene and free from diseases, reduction in the employees absenteeism as sometimes employees not only take leaves but also leave the organisation forever. So the adoption of this suggestion to waste management, there are many benefits that could be derived by the organisation as well as the employees working there. TASK 2 Meaning of “Diversity” in Business Context Diversity can be defined as the uniqueness and differences which makes an individual different from that of others. In the business context, diversity has a different meaning. Here, it refers to the people working in the organisation which are coming from different backgrounds, differencesintheircolour,race,dimensions,ethnicity,gender,sexualorientation,socio- economic status, age, physical and mental abilities and many more(Lyskova, 2016). So these kinds of consideration are taken when in business “diversity” word is used. Benefits of Diverse Workforce There are many benefits which can be availed by an organisation in diversity which are related firstly to the variety of perspectives which the organisation will have in case of diverse workforce as the perception of individual to individual is different, increased in the creativity and productivity in the organisation, improved performance of the organisation, knowledge about people of different cultures and their behaviours and many more. There are many reasons behind this statement such as the revealing of company's secret process of making their products and services and in case this is disclosed than the results will come in shut down of business(Picciotto, 2017). Another is related to the faith which the public is having in the organisation about keeping their data safe and secure. In case, this trust has been broken 3
than it will not be possible for the organisation to survive in the market. Hence, secrecy and confidentiality is important. Ensuring Property and Information Kept Secure with Organisational Procedures and Legal Requirements Companies should make proper procedures in order to make sure about fulfilling the legal requirements whether in case of keeping the property or about the information. It should not only meet with the organisational procedures but should be capable of fulfilling the legal requirements also(Tadajewski, 2017). It is because with the help of organisational property, the working processes are carried on and with the help of information it has become possible for the company to make and increase their profits. Possible Consequences of Failing to Maintain Security and Confidentiality Due to the increased criminal activities and other offences, the government in today's world, is very much concerned about the safety and security of data and the breach or non fulfilment of this, will make the companies to face severe results. The possible consequences of this breach will make organisation to bear many unhealthy outcomes such as penalties, fines and could may even the closure of the business forever, as it cannot be predicted that the leaked information will be used to what extent in carrying illegal activities. TASK 4 Identification of Risk Within Place of Work An individual could find many risks associated with the work which they are performing in the organisation. It could be related to psychological stress risks. In these type of risks, it is possible that the individuals may make defects in the work performed due to unstable mind conditions due to which the whole work goes in the wrong direction. Sources of Risks In case of psychological risks that could impact upon the working of an individual as well as the organisation are related to many reasons. These could be fear of loss of job which gives stress and tension to an individual, getting married creates situation of excitement or joy and in this situation also the individual will not be able to focus on the work provided, chronic illness or injury which removes the whole concentration of an individual from the work. 4
