1BUSINESS ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSBILITY
Question 1
The ethical issue that could be found within this video is the fact the lack of empathy and
the morality within the minds of the business leaders today. It has been shown that these leaders
are quite corrupt and they do not have the basic empathy and concern for the people with whom
they work. Apart from that they are also very much self centered and only care for what they
believe in (Pbs.org). These corporate leaders are sometimes very much egoistic and do not care
for the feelings of other people. They are kind of without any feeling for the people around them.
They even do not care about doing their work by the unethical means as well. Psychopaths might
be regarded as similar to criminals but sometimes the corporate bosses also behave like certain
psychopaths as well (Boddy: 537). This hampers the natural balance of the social structure on a
whole. This is why they lack the conscience by which the moral and immoral points are being
decided.
Question 2
There are some important stakeholders as far as this video is concerned. These
stakeholders are mainly the corporate leaders, the common people who believe they can get
bright future if they can work very hard for the company and the psychopathic brain of these
corporate leaders. It is because these psychopathic brains of some corporate leaders are
completely regardless of remorse (Pbs.org). They do not even have an idea that they should feel
sorry if they have committed some mistake or hurt the feelings of someone. They are so much
focused on their business and prioritized their business profits in the ultimate ways that they are
without any emotions. Their lack of responsibility has hampered the social structure and this
means they always ignore the demands of other people. As a primary stakeholder, they should
always take up some major responsibilities for the betterment of society.

2BUSINESS ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSBILITY
Question 3
The involved corporations have a lot of roles to mitigating these problems. It is quite sure
that these problems are completely based on the social psychology of the corporate leaders. The
leaders should keep the thing in their minds that the behavior of the employees always has an
impact on different people within the society (Documentaryheaven.com). It has been observed
that the rights of the employees are being humiliated many times and the corporations involved
in those scenarios, had not taken the proper actions (Cheang and Appelbaum: 170). This should
not be the case. Sometimes the power and influence of such leaders have worked to stop the
corporations to initiate the necessary actions. It is clear that the corporations are not able to
restore the rights of the common people as it should be. This is the reason that they might have to
be strict and behave in a responsible manner (Boddy: 152). Needless to say, corporations should
be able to control their leaders and guide them to work in an ethical manner.
Question 4
The role of the government is also very much crucial in this scenario as well. The
government should always look into these issues as their primary responsibility is to safeguard
the rights of the common people. At first, the governments must issue some obligatory notes or
instructions to the corporation’s (Documentaryheaven.com). They should always identify the
corporations with negative reputation based on the complaints launched. The consumer form
wings of the Government should be active and punish the offenders. However, it has been
reported that the Governments are also not doing their works swiftly enough. They are impeded
by influential leaders of the corporation’s (Boddy: 115). It might be because Governments also
need the help of powerful corporations for completing different responsibilities. If this is not

done properly, the rights of the common people will be hampered badly. So, governments should
take these roles seriously and take some serious steps on that (Boddy: 115).
Question 5
Now the overall role of the society will be discussed. The society has always been
respondent on these issues related to well being of the common people. Rather the Government
needs to be more conscious and give fair decisions on these challenges (Cheang and Appelbaum:
170). These challenges are indeed very crucial for the common people. This is why they must
play the role of the pacifiers. The society should stand against these leaders and ask the
lawmakers to take up the most necessary actions. Through these actions, society should be able
to teach these leaders that they must act in an ethical manner.
