BUSINESS ETHICS IN TECHFITE COMPANY 2
Part A
Corporate policies
The three corporate policies, aligned to the ethical standards and culture in the TechFite
Company are; Policy A involves the promotion of fairness among workers through promotion of
equality in opportunities that ensures all employees are given equal benefits instead of giving
bonuses to top management only. Policy B is that the company needs to strive to have better pay
including increased number of work hours that give employees an opportunity for full-time
employment. Policy c- involves developing of a corporate social responsibility policy to rebuild
the company reputation through investing on local infrastructure and events and solving the
issues affecting the community.
I. Rationale of policies
By having workplace policy on fairness, TechFite promotes a good relationship among
workers. The move ensures that all the workers including staff and management get benefits that
keep them encouraged and motivated to work. Better pay and employment makes the workers
gives them a sense of belonging and of being valued and thus increases their productivity levels.
Social responsibility ensures that the Dellberg community benefits through infrastructure
development and other social areas based on the company culture (Carroll, & Buchholtz, 2017).
II. Ethical and legal issues
Ethics and legal issues differ in that law controls peoples’ acts regarding what they can
do or not whereas ethics describes their moral obligation regarding what is good or bad in terms
of behavior. Legal issues get governed by a country government while ethics are controlled by
individual, legal and professional norms (Weiss, 2014).
III. Ethical issues at stake

The issues include a conflict of interest in which the firm realizes the need for community
involvement but fails to fulfill the commitment to solve the problems of people. There is also
misuse of resources when working hours are reduced against the company policies. Labor laws
are violated when employee benefits are being withheld. Leadership biasness is noted as workers
in UK are treated differently from those in the U.S. There is whistleblowing from the workers
due to this action.
IV. Ethical officer
The purpose of ethical officer is to ensure that the company executes the identified
policies and solves the ethical issues at stake as identified. He ensures that the rights of workers
and community people are not violated including the protection of company resources. He
ensures that promises made to Dellberg people are honored.
Part B
I. Social responsibility
The social responsibility enables a company to operate in a manner that is socially,
environmentally and economically viable. TechFite Company failed to honor the promise of
developing infrastructure in Dellberg. It also failed to sponsor communal events in the
community as promised. Lastly, the company failed to promote fairness in work place based on
benefits and wages. The outcome is ruined reputation for the firm.
II. Course of action
TechFite needs to set some revenues that cater for community infrastructure development
and sponsoring of events. The move can happen in phases that gradually happen in small bits to
win the people trust and have issues addressed as well. It needs to harmonize fairness among
workers by having all workers enjoy similar benefits (Carroll, & Buchholtz, 2017).

company culture. Better pay improves their status of living (Weiss, 2014).
