INTRODUCTIONInformation technology regarded as one of the essential and pivotal part for each andevery organisation. The reason is that, it helps to run or operate the business in smooth way anddecline time for completing some tasks in the workplace. The current project is based on TescoPlc which has worldwide presence in the retail industry. The study shows various manualsystems incorporated in the workplace which will be replaced with relevant IT systems. Apartfrom this, proposed IT systems are evaluated in terms of operating smoothly, enhancingperformance ans sustaining in the market. Further, about the CRM system is discussed which issupportive for managing customer relations up to the greater level. At the end of project,practical IT solutions are suggested to the Tesco Plc. Introduction of the companyFor conducting the present research of IT systems, the Tesco Plc is taken into accountwhich is UK based public limited company. It was founded in the year 1919 by Jack Cohen andas of now it is 98 years old enterprise. Further, it operates under the retail industry and has higherlevel of market share worldwide as compared to other retailers across the globe. Key productsoffered by Tesco up to its customers are supermarket, superstore and hypermarket. Under this,food and bakery items, cloths, grocery products are provided by it in the world. Apart from this,it contributes a better percentage of its profits in the growth rate of economy. Along with this, ittakes initiatives of corporate social responsibilities and provide financials to the charities andlocal community organisations. The Tesco company faces higher level of competition in theretail market where its major rivals are Morrison, Asda, Sainsbury and The Co-operative Food(Company profile for Tesco, 2017). However, in terms of financial performance it unable toperform well since last three to four years. The reason is that, it considers less marketing usingsocial media and other IT systems. P1:The role of IT system The companies today no longer make use of manual system that is register and pen inorder to store data .Tesco is making use of sophisticated and comprehensive databases due touse of information system in the business. About the company this system contain all theimaginable pieces of data. The information about the company is being stored, analysed andupdated by the information system.
