For the purpose of this paper, International organisation for Standardisation or ISO
has been chosen for the Quality Management System which requires an organization to
demonstrate its potential to provide quality products and services meeting the statutory and
regulatory requirements for serving the customers. The ISO needs an organization to satisfy
the requirements of the customer by effectively applying the systems of standardization in
order to improve its quality and service. Therefore, applying these requirements of the ISO on
Columbus Café, it must improve its present quality to serve the requirement of its customers
better. As per the ISO 9001: 2016, Columbus Café would be required to minimise its waste
and uplift its quality standard by following the requirements as stated in its official website
(Sciqual.com.au, 2019).
By following the ISO standards Columbus cafe can increase their profitability by
improving their productivity and efficiency. It could change their approach towards their
employee which would automatically improve the way such employees contribute to the
organisation in return. By following the ISO, Columbus Cafe would most definitely improve
on their food quality as well as their service which matters the most in terms of consumerism
in the market. Better implementation of quality and standard to make use of raw ingredients
to turn them into final products and at the same time cutting down on waste, it would not only
save money for the company but would also save the environment from wastage and
unnecessary consumption of food grains and other necessary edibles. Most importantly the
implementation of the ISO standard would help the company serve its customer in a better
way thereby improving customer satisfaction (Sciqual.com.au, 2019).
