MAIN BODY Explaining role of 4P’s in Uber The marketing mix is the technique which is implemented in order to attain markets in the best way possible. Uber is influencing employment as gig economy is increasing because of technological advancement in effective manner. It can be analysed that firm will be able to provide right to workers by implementing rights in effectual manner. The 4P’s of marketing are as follows- Product- There are various services which are offered by Uber such as X, XI, Pool, GO, AUTO, Access, MOTO, Premium, RUSH and EATS. From starting the business with to connect the drivers and riders, Uber has greatly enhanced its market portfolio of services and is providing variety of services quite effectually. There are variety of rides and Uber EATS has been added to the service portfolio which provides clarity that customers can order the food on the go on online basis. Price- The price offered to customers are required to be analysed as people are to be offered services at competitive prices in order to make them loyal. The competitive pricing strategy has been implemented by firm which has proven to be beneficial for it in attaining goals in effective manner and competitors are outreached (Marquis and et.al., 2018). It can be analysed that Uber has implemented gig economy in which business could effectively able to support workers’ rights to earn more. It can be assessed that in traditional economy, they would be working at restaurant and under it, economic situation is similar. The Uber’s driver can effectively initiate control on how much they work and attain work-life balance. This means that new variation in Uber employment would be beneficial for company as employees will become happy. Place- The place is important thing in marketing mix. Uber has its presence in 83 countries and more than 650 cities which it makes it a giant in the field. The offices are not too many in these countries as it focuses mainly on networking in effectual manner. In simple words, it has implemented network nature of business model in it. It has also created lot of buzz because of its differentiated services which are proven to be effective as publicity has been attained. The promotion is also done on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that has enhanced its services to customers and profits are attained by offering discounts on services through regular posts on Facebook. Gig economy and Uber’s Influencing Employment Gig economy has evolved a lot in recent years due to advanced technology being implemented in the company in effectual manner. The zero hour contract has been implemented which provides clarity that firm can hire workers in accordance to amount of work and employees are hired on contract basis leading to achievement of desired work. It can be analysed that people are not bound to do work and as there contracts get completed, they can disband from the job. On the other hand, it can be analysed that firm will be enhance the rights of labours in effective manner. Ubercanaccomplishitsworkers’rightsbyengaginginprovidingfreedomof employment so that they may be able to attain efficiency in the best manner possible. By providing freedom, workers will be satisfied and as a result, satisfaction level of them will be increased (Malos, Lester and Virick, 2018). The rights of employees can be protected by it using zerohourcontractineffectualmanner.Itincludesprotectionagainstunfairdismissal, redundancy pay and minimum notice period allowed and time off for meeting emergencies in the best manner possible. Moreover, it can be said that firm will be able to attain work in a desired manner and also employees would be free from permanent nature of job. Thus, no compulsion will prevail on them to complete work. It can be said that gig economy is being supported by Uber and it could satisfy workers by initiating rights so that they may attain freedom from their time bound jobs. In addition to this, workers will be able to maintain work-life balance with ease. On the other hand, firm will be able to attain efficiency in its work.
