Promotion is a marketing mix strategy with
the help of which the organisation aims to
communicate to the individual so that the target
audiences can be made aware of the products and
the services so offered by the organisation. Nike
focusses upon various methods for promoting their
products such as advertising, personal selling,
public relations, sales promotion, direct marketing
and many more. The objectives with this is to build
the image of the brand, persuade customers to buy
their products, reminding them of their products
etc..
They focus upon various paid form of advertising which they do
through celebrity endorsement such as they endorsed Micheal Jordan.
Also they use TV commercials, magazines, internet to promote the
brand in accurate manner.
Through personal selling by the trained people at the stores the
relations with the customers are improved and maintained as they can
be catered personally.
Nike sponsor various events and activities with which they aim to
promote their brand such as they sponsored FIFA world cup ball, NFL
in which the jerseys of the team player were made by them.
With the help of sales promotion as well they promote their brand for
which they offer various coupons, gift cards, special discounts etc.
that helps them to increase their sales.
The strategy of direct marketing is used by them for launching new
product and for targeting market effectively as with this they
communicate with them through mails and messages.
