Introduction:
This paper aims to present my personal reflection on the completion of a research paper
which I have completed in my class. This paper would put forth the discussion of my personal
contribution on the topic selection, developing the problem statement and developing the tea
charter. My contribution on carrying out the literature review and developing the research
methodology section will also be discussed in the paper. Furthermore, this paper will also shade
light on my overall experience after completing the research.
My personal contribution to the topic selection, problem definition, research
question, writing of topic approval submission, and team charter:
Quinlan et al. (2019) said that selection of the dissertation topic is one of the major and
most complicated tasks. As the completion of research is very lengthy process, selecting the
research topic is incredibly important factor. Being the major team member, I have taken
significant care in the way of selecting the research topic. Initially, I have analyzed the class
lecture of my professor and conducted extensive research for the sake of selecting unique
research topic. At the time of selecting the research topic, I have tried to develop unique ideas on
the smaller topic. While selecting the topic, I have ensured that no research on the same topic has
been conducted previously.
As opined by Myers (2019) taking guidance from the mentors is the best way of selecting
the research topic. As I was novice in the process of selecting the research topic, I have taken
help from my mentor in the way of selecting the topic by conducting in-depth research. Problem
statement is defined as the statement which plays a critical role in illustrating the clear vision of a

research (Chevalier and Buckles 2019). In order to define the research problem, initially, I have
focused on establishing fundamental aim and objective of the research which is the key of
attaining main subject matter of the study. In order to frame the research question, I have set the
research objectives.
My personal contribution to the literature review report, i.e. search process,
summarizing of relevant articles, designing the outline and structure of the
literature review:
Literature review is one of the major chapters of the dissertation, from which
comprehensive knowledge about the subject matter can be acquired. According to Khalil and
Khalil (2019) in-depth literature reviews provide the researcher with a new interpretation of old
material and thus enable them to combine new ideology with that of old. I have searched relevant
information on the topic from internet and accessed multiple books and journal articles on the
same topic. In the searching process, I have collected the data base and rake guidance from my
mentor in order to implement the discipline-specific search strategies which are very much
needed in order to get relevant information regarding the research. I have summarized the
relevant articles by evaluating the key points on the given topic. I have studied the relevant
portions of the individual documents and reviewed the data properly for the sake of acquiring
comprehensive outcome. Bonitsis and Brown (2019) put stress on the fact that systematic
searching is one of the key aspects of carrying out the literature with utmost efficiency.

My personal contribution to the research methodology report:
Research methodology is a major portions of a research as it gives the study with a proper
direction, based on which the research can be conducted in an effective manner. Hofmann et al.
(2019) opined that the research methodology section is the best way to convince the readers that
the research is applicable in the current scenario. I have put my best effort in the way of
conducting the research methodology. By taking guidance from my mentor, I have tried to state
my research problem by stating the questions which are to be answered in the way of getting
comprehensive outcome of the research.
While restating the research question, I have tried to incorporate the underlying
assumptions, which I have made regarding the research. In the methodology portion, I have also
established an effective methodological approach for the sake of carrying out the entire research
in an effective manner. Here I have implemented quantitative approach in terms of getting
relevant information about the measurable social trend and thereby establish the relationship
between the dependent and non-dependent variables. Buckley et al. (2019) highlighted by saying
that research design is one of the major factors of the research methodology as it supports in
giving the research with a proper direction. I have also selected a proper data collection method
and provide justification of choosing each of the data collection method. I have gathered
knowledge about the process of presenting the data in a graphical and logical order. In addition, I
have also gained insight about the process of collecting the quantitative data by conducting the
survey session among the targeted samples.

My reflections on the research experience:
From the process of completing the research, I have learned several things. Initially, I
have the knowledge about the structure which is to be followed in the way of carrying out the
research in a comprehensive manner. Successful completion of the research has helped me to
gain multiple skills. It has helped me to explore and evaluate the stages that are to be followed to
complete the research in a systematic. Initially, there was certain challenging situation due to the
conflicting attitude of the team members. They have showed negative attitude in following the
instruction of the supervisor. Such conflicting attitude among the team members affects the
project outcome (Richesson et al. 2019).
However, out supervisor was very charming with strong emotional stability, which has helped
me him to overcome the challenges and generate positive attitude among individual team
members. In-spite of such challenges, my experience of working in the team was great. My
supervisor was very helpful and always encouraged me to put significant effort in the way of
completing the research in a timely and cost effective manner (Myers 2019). My communication
skill was not up to the mark and always prevented me to maintain healthy communication with
my co-workers. In order to mitigate this issue, my super visor has created a open channel of
communication which is the key of maintaining transparency in the team. Such open channel of
communication has played a critical role for me to gain relevant information regarding the
process of structuring the research which is very much needed to complete a research in a
comprehensive manner (Rawhouser et al. 2019).

My statement indicating which sections of this research project I personally
wrote and what you learned from this experience:
I have put significant effort in the way of completing the research in a timely and cost
effective manner. In the entire research, I personally wrote research methodology section. While
preparing research methodology, I have acquired knowledge on multiple things. I have learned
about different factors of research methodology, which is the key of carrying out the research in
a systematic manner. I have erudite about the data collection method which is to be followed in
order to get relevant information about the research. I have gathered insight about the method of
data analysis and the way of presenting the data in a statistical manner. I have learned about the
process of conducting the survey and interview session with that of the samples.
Conclusion:
Based on the discussion, it can be concluded by saying that I have learned several things
after the completion of the project. I have gained perception about the process of selecting the
research topic and conducting the literature review. From the research methodology section, I
have learned about the methods of completing the research in a systematic manner.
