Theme 3: To determine the key challenges faced by company while integrating advanced
technology.
As per the views of Binsawad, Sohaib and Hawryszkiewycz (2019) the use of technology
is very beneficial for the company but with this there are also some of the attached drawbacks
and limitation of the use of technology. The most common challenge being faced by the
company at time of integrating the technology within the business is that increase in the cost of
company. This is particularly because of the reason that when the company will implement new
and latest technology then this will include heavy charges of its installation. In the same manner
the company will also have to incur the maintenance cost of the company as the technology

the company will also have to incur the maintenance cost of the company as the technology
needs regular maintenance and proper care. Thus, these charges may be very high and it may be
possible that the company is not in condition of bearing those charges the technology gets
obsolete.
On the other side, Abdullahi (2017) argues that the major challenge for the company in
implementing latest technology is the providing of training to the employees. This is the major
challenge because of the reason that when the new technology is being implemented then it is the
responsibility of the company that they will provide for opportunities of training to the
employees. Thus, in this case again the company will have to incur the cost as they will have to
hire some professional or the expert who are having good knowledge and information relating to
the technology. This is necessary if the recruited person is not having proper knowledge then it
will be waste of money and the company will have to bear more cost. Also, in addition to this the
company also has to hire a particular person who will keep the track of the changes taking place
in the technological environment. This is essential as there are many different changes and up
gradations taking place in the technological sector and if the company will not keep a track and
will not adapt to is then they will become obsolete. Thus, this also calls for the company to have
a person being hired for the analysing the market and changing pattern in the technological
sector.
Along with this Wonglimpiyarat (2016) articulates that another major challenge which
the company faces in order to install the new technology within the company is the resistance of
employee to adapt to new technology. This is majorly because of the reason that when the
company install the new technology then the employees feel that their importance within the
company will decrease as all the work will be done by the technology only. Thus, the employees
resist in adapting to the latest technology as this will reduce their importance within the
workplace and they might be kicked off from the job as well. Hence, due to this reason that
company is installing the technology then at that time the employees will not be happy and they
will not work in proper and effective manner and will decrease the productivity of the company.
In addition to this Xiao and North, (2017) criticizes the fact and states that the major
challenge for the integration of the technology in the business is the risk and the risk of
information security. This is a major challenge for the company as when the technology is being
implanted within the company then this has a risk associated with it. This is majorly because of
the reason that the technology is the use of machine and there are uncertainties that the machine
may stop at anytime. Thus, this will have a great impact over the working of the company and
obsolete.

and the company cannot predict what will happen in future. Thus, there is always an uncertainty
as what will happen in future. Also, there are very frequent changes in the technology as well
and if the company will not adapt to these changes timely then they might become obsolete.

The major reason underlying this fact is that the use of the qualitative research will assist the
researcher in learning more of the theoretical aspect relating to the research topic.
Approach for research- the approach for the research is defined as the assumptions which
are the basis under the selection of the methods of the research (Mohajan, 2018). The approach is
of two different type that is inductive and deductive approach. In the inductive approach the
main preference is given to the formulation of the aim and objective relating to the research
topic. In contrast to this under the deductive approach the hypothesis are being formulated
relating to the topic of research. For the completion of the current research study, the major
preference will be given to the inductive approach. The reason underlying this is that the framing
of the aim and objective will give a direction to the researcher in successful completion of the
research.
Philosophy of research- the philosophy is defined as the belief which is underlying use of
any of the research method. The philosophy is of also two different types that is interpretivism
and positivism. The interpretivism is the philosophy majorly focuses over the integration of the
interest of the human in the whole study as this includes very common information. On the flip
side the positivism is the philosophy which includes the use of factual information relating to the
topic of research. Thus, in order to complete the research in successful manner the researcher
will make use of the interpretivism as the philosophy of research. The major reason behind this is
that this will develop the interest of the readers in the study.
Collection of data- this is the most crucial stage in the completion of the research in
successful manner. This is majorly because of the reason that if the data will not be there then the
research will never be completed in successful manner. The major reason underlying this
statement is that whole study of the research is based over the data collected related to research
topic (Snyder, 2019). The sources of data collection are primary and secondary source of data
collection. The former source is referred to as the first hand data which is being used in the
research for the first time. On the other side the latter is related with the second hand data or
already used data. For the successful completion of the research the researcher will make use of
the combination of the primary source in form of questionnaire and the secondary source in form
of the literature review to support the primary data.
Analysis of data- this is also very crucial because just collecting the data is of no use and
if the data will be used in the proper manner then this will bring out some meaning. Thus, for the
researcher in learning more of the theoretical aspect relating to the research topic.

Analysis of data- this is also very crucial because just collecting the data is of no use and
if the data will be used in the proper manner then this will bring out some meaning. Thus, for the
analysis of the data the researcher will make use of thematic analysis wherein the themes will be
formulated and then the data will be tabulated and related graphs and charts will be made. In the
end interpretation of the data and the chart will be made which will help researcher in getting to
some conclusion (Ørngreen and Levinsen, 2017).
Sampling
This is the most important thing to be decided for the research to be successful. This is
majorly because of the reason that the whole population cannot be studied and for this purpose
some of the people from the whole population is being selected and all the study is undertaken
on those sample. For the purpose of selection of sample the researcher will make use of the
random sampling method as the under this method every participant within the population has
equal chance of getting selected as a sample. Thus, for conducting the present research the
sample of 50 employees of Tesco will be selected and all the primary data will be collected from
them. The random sample are being selected as the data collected from them can be generalised
to whole population.
Accessibility
The accessibility is referred to as the fact that the whether the data is accessible or not in
easy manner. If the data of the research will not be easily accessible then the research will not be
good and successful. This is particularly because of the reason that if the data will not be easy
and simple to understand then the readers will not like the research content. Hence, the research
will not be successful and will not be liked by the users of the research. On the other side, if the
data will be easily accessible and in clear understanding of the readers then this will assist the
researcher in successfully accomplishing the research. This is particularly because of the reason
that this research will make more readers attract towards it as the data is easily understandable by
the readers.
Ethical issues
This is the most essential aspect of the research to be successful as if the research will not
be based on the ethical principles (Fletcher, 2017). This is due to the reason that if the research
will not be ethical then the people will not like it. Thus, for this the major ethical consideration
for the researcher is to manage the data and to use reliable and valid data only. Another major
ethical consideration is the getting the sign of the respondent over the ethical approval form. This
formulated and then the data will be tabulated and related graphs and charts will be made. In the
end interpretation of the data and the chart will be made which will help researcher in getting to
some conclusion (Ørngreen and Levinsen, 2017).

ethical consideration is the getting the sign of the respondent over the ethical approval form. This
is essential as this form provides the authentication that the personal information provided by the
respondent can be used in the research (Humphries, 2017).
Significance
The significance is referred to as the importance of the project or the research which is
being undertaken by the researcher. The current research is of great significance and importance
as this will help Tesco in identifying the various methods which will assist the company in
gathering the information relating to technology and easy application to the technology within
the business. This is essential as this will provide a way to the company that how they have to
implement the technology and thereafter manage the technology. Thus, this will also help the
other related companies and the competitors of the Tesco in using the same information in the
management of the technology within their business as well. Also, in addition to this the use of
this information of the researcher is of significance to the other researcher as well who are also
doing the same or similar research.
Deliverables
The deliverable is defined as the thing or the outcome which the research project will
deliver after the successful completion of the research. This is particularly because of the fact
that the deliverable is the outcome of the research that is what the research was intending bring
out from the research. The major deliverable of the present research over the impact of the
advancement of technology over the growth and success of the business is that the technology
will assist the company in gaining a competitive advantage over the other competitors. This is
particularly because of the reason that when the research will result that technology is helpful for
the business then the other business will also try to include and adapt to the new and latest
technology. Thus, this will motivate the other business as well to adapt to the latest technology.
Required resources
The resources are the things and the substances which are essential for the researcher to
use in the completion of the research. This is essential because of the reason that if these
resources will not be used by the researcher then the research will not be successfully
accomplished. Thus, the main resources for the use and successful accomplishment of the
research is the human resource, finance, technology, computers, travelling expenses, internet and
other electronic equipments, electricity and different types of bills and many other resources. In
respondent can be used in the research (Humphries, 2017).
Thus, the main resources for the use and successful accomplishment of the
research is the human resource, finance, technology, computers, travelling expenses, internet and

addition to this the financial resources are the most important and common resource as if this
will not be there then the research will not be completed in proper and effective manner
(Taherdoost, 2016). This is particularly because of the reason that the finance is the core
necessity for the research to be successful.

EVALUATION OF INDIVIDUAL PLAN
With the evaluation and analysis of the above whole research plan it was clear that this
plan is very essential to be made by the researcher. This is particularly because of the fact that
this will provide a blueprint to the researcher that in which direction they have to work. With the
evaluation of the research plan it was seen that the forming of the aim and objective was very
essential as if the aim and objective were not made in correct manner then the research would
have not been successful. Thus, for this it was very essential for the research to be successful that
the accurate aim and objectives are being formulated by the researcher.
With the continuation of the research it was seen that the reviewing of the various sources
of the literature was very helpful in gathering the secondary data. This was due to the reason that

With the continuation of the research it was seen that the reviewing of the various sources
of the literature was very helpful in gathering the secondary data. This was due to the reason that
when the primary data was analysed then at that time this will be supported with the secondary
data which is collected in form of the literature review. Also, with the evaluation of the plan it
was seen that deciding the methods of research in advance was very helpful for the researcher.
This is majorly because of the reason that this will assist the researcher as they already know
what method they have to select and why. This was very good and helpful for the researcher as
they do not have to work much over the selection of the method as once selected they will be
applied.
But on the evaluation of the research plan it was seen that the collection of the data was a
tough task. This was majorly because of the reason that there are many different types of
websites which provide same and similar data. Thus, it is very confusing that which website to
be used by the researcher for the collection of the data. This was majorly because of the reason
that it is not possible that every source will provide for the authentic and relevant information.
Thus, for this it is the negative aspect as there is not surety that which data is being used is
reliable and valid or not. Thus, for this the researcher cannot make sure that which data source
must be used by them.
In addition to this another constraint during the whole research was the issue of the time.
This is particularly because of the reason that the time provided for the research was very
limited. Thus, it was very tough to make use of the limited time to complete the whole research
in successful manner. Thus, this created many problem and issues as it was very difficult for the
researcher to decide that which activity of research need to completed in what time frame. But in
the end it can be said that even though there were much limitation and negative aspect but then
also the research was completed on time and with good result and the result were also as per the
expectation.
