INTRODUCTION
Business strategy is referred as the process that guide the organisation to take various
effective decision which help it to achieve specific goals and objectives in effective as well as
efficient manner. It is the combination of various competitive actions that facilitates the
organisation to attract potential customers, compete successfully in highly competitive market,
strengthening employees to improve performance as well as accomplishment of organisational
goals and objectives. Effective business strategy develop a outline or road map that guide
business to carry all organisational functions in efficient manner and reach at desired ends.
Basically, it is the master plan that facilitates organisation to secure sustainable competitive
positioning in respective market place (Business strategies,2021). All operations of business are
carried according to business plans and strategies in efficient manner. In this report the chosen
organisation is Tesco which is a British multinational groceries as well as general merchandise
retailer organisation. Respective organisation is founded in 1919 by the Jack Cohen. The
headquarter is situated in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom. 7,005
shops of respective organisation provides its services to customers world widely. Tesco provides
its products and services to five countries across the Europe. In this report various contemporary
strategic management issue of respective organisation is being covered. Drawbacks and
advantages of strategic models as well as different applications of business organisation is
discussed. Various roles and powers of stakeholders and issues surrounded the organisation that
affect business activities are being covered in this essay.

Strategic management is decried as the process that contains decision making as well as
planning that guide the organisation and lead it towards development and implement all
strategies in effective manner in order to achieve all defined goals and objectives in efficient
manner. It is related to create strategies and take appropriate decisions to attain them within
defined period of time (Agustina and Karyono, 2019). Strategic issues are defined as the
forthcoming development that is happened inside as well as outside the organisation, that affect
the business process and ita abilities to meet goals and objectives. An issue emerges various
opportunities to organisation's environment or its respective internal strengths, weakness and

external threats respectively. Tesco apply strategic management in order to make effective
positioning and facilitates organisation to sustain in competitive market and enhance
profitability, productivity of organisation. Respective organisation conduct proper market to
analyse all current market trends and customers preferences and demands than formulate
effective strategies that facilitate the organisation gain various sustainable competitive
advantages (Business issues and challenges,2021). There are various strategic management
issues are raised in contemporary business that affect organisational activities of Tesco and affect
its productivity as well as profitability level. Tesco conduct proper marketing research in order to
evaluate all internal as well as external factors to develop effective planning and formulate
strategies that resolve all strategic issues in efficient manner. These challenges are raised because
of setting strategic goals is time taking as well as complex process that required number of
resources that are allocated at organisational level and locations in order to ensure that defined
goals and objectives accomplished in defined manner. Tesco managers pay proper attention
towards goal setting process according to organisation. As clear goals and objectives define all
role and responsibilities at all hierarchical level and ensure clear communication.
Another strategical issue is lack of alignment between all department that is raised
because of prioritization issues as well as various collaboration conflicts that affect the
achievement of strategic goals. In Tesco it is the biggest issue that employees are engaged in non
strategic work that leads it towards the misalignment. Contemporary strategic issues is determine
because of organisational inability of tracking the performance and actions of employees in
effective manner that affect business activities and enhance the unproductive within organisation.
Employees or other organisational members are not connected with strategies that are formulated
by the organisation to attain specific goals and objectives in specific manner. It will create the
conflict among the organisation and enhance the strategic issues and challenges. Apart from that
various other issues that affect the business process, productivity and profitability are defined
such as embracing marketing internal communication roles and responsibilities that create the
challenge for managing outsider connection with organisation. Tesco face various strategic
management issues as well as their implications in organisation in order to achieve all defined
goals and objectives in efficient manner (Aldea, Iacob, and Quartel, 2018). Managing
exceptions of leaders of other team is also creates the issue within organisation because in order
to formulate strategies for organisation it is important to involve all department in decision
