Executive Summary A city centre car-free is place where there is no use of motor vehicles and due to which there is less traffic. The place is healthy and pollution free that makes people fit. It is seen that there is rise in awareness about the concept of sustainability. The stakeholders in the process are identified in the report. Along with that impact of the same and points of recommendations are part of this report.
INTRODUCTION A city centre car-free is the one that recognises the importance of public transport. That at that centres population primarily relies on walking cycling as well as public transport with in urban area. These areas are called car free zones as there are no motorized vehicles used (Yusniar, Saputra and Tebec, 2020). Due to rising pollution it has now became important to start the concept of car free cities. It will help the nation to become pollution free due to less emission of carbon in the atmosphere. There is requirement of support from various stakeholders in order to make a district car free. The major role is of government of the place. Government will help to form policies and guidelines that will assist in making centre car free. It is important to take initiatives that must be taken by government to make people aware. There is important role of communities that will help in implementation of the process. The law making authorities of the place will also cam laws related to the same. Last but not the least, there is important role of general public that will actually implement the plan. It is important to aware public and takes their consent in order to make the city car free. In this report there is discussion related to the meaning of car free city as well as major stakeholders in the process. The impact of noise pollution will also get reduced. It is seen that there are various issues that will be eliminated as they occur due to noise pollution. They are in their comfort zone and able to go at any place by using their cars (Minja, 2021). The public will not agree to the scheme easily. There will be certain issues that may arise if the concept it will take place. The response of public will not be easy to tolerate. It is seen that they do not want to rely on public transportation as they have their own vehicle. The public will not go through cycle or will use them only legs and will walk. It is seen that each and every person is now lazy and uses their own vehicle to go from one place to other. For some it is sign of luxury and others do not want to walk or use public transport.
