EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Academic and professional skills play important role to make a person capable and effective
in specific field. The current assignment has provided better understanding about impact of
pandemic and lock-down as well as Brexit. It has defined the positive and negative impacts of
each factor.

INTRODUCTION
A car free city is one of those sustainable concepts or projects that provide varied benefits
to individual person as it put direct impact on environment, health, economy and other elements.
It is also considered as population centre that usually relies on public transportation, cycling and
walking for purpose of transport within the urban area. This type of concept caters easy access to
public and active transportation. It also provides benefit in the context of reducing noise, and air
pollution that is quite helpful and beneficial outcome that governmental bodies obtain in
effective manner, which is important for them to obtain so. Along with positive impact, certain
stakeholders did not taken benefit of car free city as they will affect negatively by introducing
pedestrianized city centre that depend on some factors such as travel habits, profession, residence
and disability. It can be said that he relation between city and car have affected urban planning
concept worldwide.
The overall benefit of car free city is possible to gain when a group of people as key
stakeholders engage themselves in making this project successful. Governmental bodies,
communities, public, transportation sector, tourism, etc. are included in list of those supporters
who named as stakeholders. They take approach to utilize the best ways and approaches to make
this concept beneficial, essential and profitable for everyone. Each stakeholder plays important
role in regard to car free city, in term of taking initiatives to develop the most effective strategies
and plans that drive the attention of stakeholders toward success.
The current assignment will be based on specific subject and that is car free city. The
study will explain the impact of this topic on economy, health, Hospitality, event and tourism
industries. It will also specify justified suggestions based on overall analysis in appropriate form.
ANALYSIS
Changes in how citizens exercise.
In the nations or cities where car free concept is applied, there might be occurred varied
changes in regard to citizens exercise. For instance, they may take steps to purchase products and
use services out of homes or offices without using their vehicles such as cars and bikes,
especially when their working or home places are covered under inner cities. It is fact that they
measure varied benefit in term of health improvements (Mueller and et.al., 2020). They may
conduct several practices as exercise in form of walking alone or with friends and family
members at week off days. They may go to park or other interesting places nearby houses, by

using two-wheelers such as cycles that drive their attention toward living a health and stable life.
On the other hand, some fluctuations due to introduction of above concept, may affect negatively
in term of increasing risk of death or other health challenges, especially in case of older people
who are facing and dealing with their health concerns (Spitzer, 2018).
The way they take decision to go to hospital and other health care centres are change,
which is not good for certain circumstances. It can be said that older people are unable to walk
and use cycle to go from one location to another as they always need a car or fast driving vehicle,
which make them capable to reach and take better medical prevention or precaution. In Europe
and other nations the practices or exercise of citizens might be affected or changed in positive
and negative manner, along with taking pleasure of car free cities they have to deal with critical
situations. Aged individuals are facing issues to manage their daily activities as they do not take
cabs for daily basic needs for which they have to go out of house and other places where they
live. It bring varied issues along with above that is essential to overcome with the help of
implementing plans and strategies. When the concept is continued in process then individual may
consider more changes that might be beneficial or not in some cases. Car free cities not essential
and helpful in the context of each stakeholder.
The impact on mental health.
City centre car free put positive impact on mental health of people in term of reducing
noise pollution that may put negative influence on mental stability of human. It can be said that
too much noise lead to decrease hearing power of individuals and also create challenges
maintaining mental stability. When people do not use their cars in the inner areas of regions or
nations such as Europe, where individuals are taking pleasure of car banning decision that affect
positively and give them chance to take fresh air or breath appropriately. In the recent time, it is
important for individual person to maintain their mental and physical health appropriately, as it
affect their effectiveness, concentration, and other aspects of human life. City centre car free idea
may enable them to take benefit of enhancing psychical fitness and well-fare. Noise pollution in
one of those factors that impact well-being of everyone in today's ear. Just because of this, many
individuals are dealing with health challenges in term of losing power to hear. Some of them are
unable to listen loud music as it being headache, which is not that easy for them to deal that. Due
to the new idea, population feeling much better as they woke up early in the morning with no
sound that their ears would not tend to hear.

It can be said that walking & cycling may also affect mental health as it may contribute to
eliminate stress level and feeling of loneliness that drive individual person attention toward
conducting unexpected practices such as drug addiction, etc. Car free cities such as Europe, may
provide population and tourist chance to maintain peace of mind that is essential and beneficial
too. It may give them opportunity to build social contact and risk of fatal accidents (WHAT
IF...CITIES BECAME CAR-FREE, 2019). Varied city centres being to go car fewer or free
including Paris, Milan, and others. Their initiatives and contribution play role to boost mental
and physical health. While, it may put negative impact as well in term of increasing stress level,
when individuals may losses their jobs as a cab driver, which lead to decrease mental stability.
Restriction to get access of private vehicle use in city enter may create many issues for people as
they face challenges using own vehicle for emergency purpose, especially in the context of older.
Changes in health related to utilizing vehicles less frequently.
In today's era, millions of people are facing problems related to their health such as
obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. due to utilization of four wheeler the most, because of
this habit they do not prefer to walk and use cycles as they feel lazy to do so. But now they do
not deal with these issues as city centre car free concept help them to feel and look fit and reduce
risk of being fatty person. In most of the countries and states, people are improving their health,
both mental and physical as they start waling after and before dinner (Ten Caat and et.al., 2021).
They also prefer to walk to purchase grocery and other products as well as utilize services,
because of four wheeler restrictions in inner city centre. It is the best way for them not only to
save money but also support toward a healthy live. It reduces stress and depression among
people, which is essential for them to do that as they work harder and effectively to overcome the
negative situations that impact mental & physical health.
By using vehicles less frequently, people may measure changes in regard to their health.
For example, whom who do not take any single step out of home to take pleasure of natures
beauty and fresh air, it is the best opportunity as they could walk out and reduce bones pain that
is quite common problems among individuals. Car usage restriction in varied cities may improve
air quality and drive people attention toward start cycling (Doheim, Farag and Badawi, 2020).
They may take wide space for conducting above two activities in effective manner. By making
cities car free, individual person take pleasure of improving health and issues related to that
concept, for example, the potential advantage of this action is increasing work stamina and

digestion system. There are major changes occur in health whether it is physical or mental
related to utilizing vehicles less quickly (Pettigrew, Nelson and Norman, 2020). For instance,
instead of using own vehicles, when people use cycles that may take benefit of increasing
cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, flexibility, joint mobility, stress level, strengthening
bones, and take prevention of major disease. It may also help to keep blood pressure low or
maintain and also decrease risk of diabetes that affect negatively upon human well-being. Due to
this disease individual change their eating habit appropriately and totally.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above discussion, it has been summarized that governmental bodies and
others stakeholders such as communities obtained benefits of making car free cities, in term of
reducing air pollution successfully and also eliminating too much noise of cars that contribute to
increase road traffic. With the help of using bicycles people make their environment sustainable
and drive the attention of others to do so effectively that in return provide a lot of edges in bulk.
Furthermore, from above analysis, it has been concluded that local people are facing key
challenges due to car free cities' concept, because it has put negative impact on their life and
make it less effective them every, which is not good at all. On the basis of above discussion, it
has been identified that to make city and environment sustainable as well as enhance economic
growth it is essential for the stakeholders to adopt new methods with implementation of car free
city.
RECOMMENDATION
In order to minimize the challenges and maximize key benefits, there are few suggestions
stated below that may help in varied terms, when each recommendation individual stakeholder
may take into their consideration.
 It is recommended to group of stakeholders who are engaged in process of car free city, it
that they can take action to allow usage of private motors in the nation or region, which is
important. As it put negative impact on life in term of making it less efficient as many
people used their own vehicles for varied reasons such an emergency basis, travel
purpose, etc. Just because of making city car free, people losses their jobs that is not
beneficial and appropriate for economic growth in the recent time when pandemic
already impacted the whole world negatively. They permit utilization of cabs for purpose

of travelling and using in the context of visitors who are visiting the best and most
popular destinations in the world, to take pleasure of natural beauty, etc.
 Instead of banning car usage, high authority can take decision to divide routes or paths
into two sections, among each section specify which type vehicle can pass through that
way. Middle area of road is for four and side ways for vehicles where people can run,
cycling and walk as it depends on them. Different municipalities around the world are
taking approach to ban cars from inner cities that might be not beneficial for everyone
and each factor excluding environment.
 Municipalities can take decision to permit utilization of cars in inner and outer cities that
is important because on the basis of emergency cases individual can utilize their own
vehicles that save life of family member or friend on time.
 Instead of car banning in inner cities or areas of a nation, stakeholders can take action to
allow cabs for which skilled and experience cab drivers might be hired who are facing
challenges to live a normal life and enhance standard of living even better than earlier
after losing jobs.
 All above suggestions make car free city concept effective and beneficial in regard to all
stakeholders.
