My approach to the care
Cardiomyopathy discusses about the diseases of heart muscles. Cardiomyopathy is the
condition that affects the heart as the primary disease which may lead to the heart failure of the
patient (Puckett, Shapiro & Goodlin, 2013). The approach to the care that I would recommend
for this situation would comprise of medication and the nutritional therapy. The patient had
cardiomyopathy and his heart muscles were weak therefore strengthening of the heart muscles
can improve the condition of the patient. The patient should get all the medications that are
necessary for his condition. Beta blockers or ACE inhibitors can be given to the patient here
because in this case cardiomyopathy has led to the congestive heart failure. These medications
could be useful to stabilize the patient to a certain point so that the other therapeutic measures
can be started (Kosiborod et al., 2017). The next portion of my approach would be to confirm
that the patient should follow a proper diet plan and begins some sort of exercises when the
patient is healthy enough to perform. Furthermore, home based care programme which consists
of weekly home visits by the nurses and the clinicians could be also useful to the patient.
Treatment plan
A change in lifestyle of the patient may help to manage a particular condition that causes
the cardiomyopathy to the patient. The patient should be physically active and should
communicate with his doctor in a weekly basis. The foods should content less saturated and
trans-fat. The foods should be prepared with low sodium because the patient has pitting edema.
Eventually it can be dangerous if the patient consumes too much of sodium. Proper medications
should be given to lower the heart rate and blood pressure. Electrolytes should be balanced in the
body because it will help to manage the acid-base balance in the body and electrolytes helps the
