INTRODUCTION
Career action plan simply means as the framework or a roadmap that describes the step an
individual is going to take in selection of a job or an occupation or a business in the growth and
development of career in respective field. This helps an individual in the achievement of
predetermined career goals. When an individual takes time for evaluation, mediation and various
other thoughts about skills, values, behaviours, attitudes and many other motivational thoughts
and desires is called self-reflection. This following report is based on personal analysis and also
assessment of strengths and weaknesses and also areas of development. It also draws a career
action plan for improving and developing key important skills in retail industry, I have chosen
retail industry for this report. In the end, CV and LinkedIn profile is also there.
TASK
Personal Analysis
I want to grow and develop my career in retail industry, I have to learn and study for
various different marketing courses that all will help me in gaining knowledge, education and
other minor details like concepts, skills and many more. I got opportunity to work and learn in
top retail companies and that is Marks and Spencer. It has its diversification in retailing business
of food, home and many different domestic goods and products. Analysis has been done by me
that there is a necessity for growth and development as well as improvement of some key skills
that I will require in future for carrying out my work and job as a marketing employee in this
industry. The discussion of skills is further below:
Communication skills: communication skills are important for being a good marketing
manager. Having this role, there is need to communicate with various people by me such
as customers, colleagues, representatives of customer service and many more. I have to
be expressive and good in marketing aims and goals to my team members, for resolving
customer issues and many other.
Leadership Skills: There is a desire in me to develop leadership skills to effectively lead,
direct, influence all my team and other members that are related to my organisation. It
will help me in alignment of the team goals along with company's goals.
Creative skills: I am good at creativity and in all my innovative skills. It helps in growth
and development of various new ideas and thoughts and other perspectives for leading

the team, for creation of new variables and things in the existing products and services.
These skills will also help in dealing with creative solutions to problems.
Listening skills: I possess good listening skills by which I am able to listen the problems,
concerns or any issues and many other relevant things of customers or employees. This
helps in great dealings and other things. Also, it helps me to develop new bonds and
stronger relations with people for long time.
Technical skills: It is a threat of me as I do not possess good technical skills. I need to
develop these skills for my employer and the organisation so that I can be able to operate
and function well with the latest tools, software and much more that will be needed with
different marketing activities.
Career Action Plan
I have reliased that career action plan is most important for the organization for it's
business because in this I analysed all important factors which help organization to know their
strength and weakness of their organization. Being a marketing manager in choosen company I
tried to get my responsibility done in a effective manner. I will create better action plan for my
career which help me to grow and developed in this areas so it will help my organization to
sustain long-term in market. The effective career plan help me to capture huge market areas and
generate more reveneue in market and this will indirectly help to gain competitive advantage in
market for organization. Let's discuss in brief that what types of skills, knowledge or abilities
want in this areas,
Communication Skills: In organization the employees must have communication skills
because in marketing field job the communication is key element which management of
coworkers must have in their skills because this skills helps organization to sell their
products easily by influencing customers in market. I will able to give solution and
measures to various problems which is reasied in marketing function. I have to developed
my communication skills more effective so for that I have to join coaching where I learn
so many things and there I am daily interacting with so many people and there I also
improve my knowledge by interacting with new people.
Leadership Skills: In this organization leadership quality is very important to lead the
employees and direct them for common golas. Leadership skills is key element for
organization if organization have to good leadership skills then they have ability to
