INTRODUCTION
Carer development is defined as the process that help an individual to evolved their
occupational status (Adeani, Febriani, and Syafryadin, 2020). It is related to taking long term
learning decisions as well as aligned all personal needs through gaining career advancement
opportunities (Bocciardi, Caputo, and Sartori, 2017). This procedure is also considered as the
selecting appropriate career, improve skills and perform efficiently on career path. In this report

Job role in interview
Interview is defined as the structured conversation in which one participant asks question
and other one provide answers. It is the one-on-one conversation between an interviewer and an
interviewee. The main purpose of interview is to exchange information and find best employees
on the bases of applicants skills, ability and basic knowledge (Cook, and Rougette, 2017). It
includes multiple stages that helps organisation to hire skilled and capable employees who
contribute in organisational growth and success.
Interviewer: Tell me Something about yourself?
Interviewee: My name is Tyler living in Dallas, Texas. I have completed my Bachelors in
Business administration. I am confident person and also possess good leadership qualities in
myself. I am good in communication both for written and oral communication. I have 3 years
experience in this field as I have also work with many local coffee shops where I get
appreciation for my work.
Interviewer: Why you want this job?
Interviewee: I want this job because this job fit very well in something I want to do in my life.
And having a job in the organization like you boost my confidence, give me great experience and

Interviewee: It was a great experience for me. I was working as an assistant manager in many
local coffee shops. I have learned many things which I don't know earlier. The main skills I
learnt from my previous experience is teamwork and leadership skills that will help me to lead
the group efforts and actions in the direction of attaining common goals and objectives. In my
previous job, I concentrated on providing better experience to customers that retain them with
organisation and enhance their loyalty towards coffee shop.

Interviewee: My strength is my communication skills as I can communicate with any person
confidently and influence them with my point of views. I also have conflict resolution skill

Interviewer: We are hiring you for job position of Coffee Shop Manager where you need to
manage day to day operation. You also need to coordinate with vendors and suppliers and also
provide training and development opportunities to employees. You are supposed to manage
daily operations and task of coffee shop and lead efforts and actions of team in right direction
and motivate them to perform their operations in best possible manner.
What about yearly appraisal scheme of company?
Interviewer: We are offering 30% up to yearly appraisal to our employees which are based on
their performance. Those who are working hard will get more appraisal in compare to employees
who are contributing less. Our appraisals satisfies current employees and boost their morale,
engagement and satisfaction level with organisation. HR manager of organisation meet
employees and analyse their overall performance than provide them appraisal.
What are Working hours of company?
Interviewer: Employees on average basis needs to work for 8 hours but on weekend day,
working are can be increase with 10 hours. We are offering one day off in a week to you that can
be decided by Managing director of company.
What about leaves and how can I apply for leaves?

In the personal and professional life of an individual, personal reflection play a major role
in development of an individual. I consider that it is important for me to focus on personal
reflection based approach to facilitate knowledge and development in myself. I consider that it is
also important for an candidate to focus on career development plan in order to gain effective
growth rate and career opportunities. This is one of my main role and responsibility to
accomplish various tasks and targets with the help and support of career development plan. In the
recent times, many academic institutions focus on implementation of good teaching practices in
order to ensure key development based practices (Fabio, 2019). The main role of an organisation
is to focus on key objectives and goals which are important for advancement in career field. This
is one of my major aim to establish my career in the hospitality sector. I would like to work as a
coffee shop manager in a Cafe which is well recognized. In order to develop efficiency in my
working I will also focus on skill development. My career development plan is mentioned below
with the help of Gibbs reflective model:
Description- The description based approach is helpful in analysing whole situation and
consider details of the same (Gupta, and Priyadarshi, 2020). I will analyse my objectives
and goals related to my career field and will also formulate key strategies. I will also
develop an effective approach in assessment of my skills and competencies which are
important for gaining competitive advantage for my career field. In this approach, I will
focus on why I want to pursue my career in the hospitality sector. This is one of my
major role to describe whole situation along with brief assessment of present situation in
academic life (Ismail, and Rishani, 2018).
Feelings- I always feel enthusiastic for my career and its development, this is one of my
major role to focus on developing an optimistic nature. I have mixed feelings related to
my career field and have a positive perception towards key tasks and functions. The
situation analysis is important for me to understand the significance of strategies and
choices which are important to develop feelings.
Evaluation- In this approach, I will evaluate key ways and methods which are supporting
me to develop effective edge in my career pathway. The evaluation of whole situation is
important for me to develop a key approach in functions of self development. According
to me confidence is one of the major requirement, which helps in increasing the value of

a person in professional and personal life. The negative sides related to my career
pathway should be also analysed by me in order to develop major planning framework. I
will also increase my emotional intelligence in order to face a situation in a more precise
manner. I will take into consideration advice of my professors and teachers to develop an
effective approach in my career field.
Conclusion- According to the analysis done above, I can easily conclude that, I want to
pursue my career in hospitality sector. This will be most suitable for me in order to make
a dynamic career . I need to work on key strengths and weaknesses in order to develop a
systematic approach in my field of career. I also need to develop competitive edge related
to competition by performing different types of analysis. In order to develop
effectiveness and efficiency in career field, I will take support from seniors and
professors.

Description– The description is the primary stage in Gibbs model of reflection which
includes brief description of whole situation (Hambly, and Bomford, 2018). It is most
essential role of a person to focus on skill development to develop a major approach in
competition. In order to develop career, I will first focus on development of
communication skills. It is my major role and responsibility to focus on key areas of
communication as it will help me in increasing coordination between workers. The
decision-making skills play an important role in making key decisions and act
accordingly. I will learn decision-making skills with a major focus on different situations
which arises in functioning of a business. In the description stage, I will also include
focus on analysing the whole situation according to my desired job of coffee shop
manager.
Feelings- It is the secondary stage in the Gibbs reflection model which includes
demonstration of feelings associated with the task. In order to develop effectiveness in
my career field it is essential for me to develop positive feeling and emotional

intelligence. I will also take into consideration, development of leadership skills in order
to effectively work and management of employees for the company I am working.
According to me, leadership skills are most important for me to increase potential in
management of subordinate team members. The main focus of mine will be on analysing

will help me to develop workplace management skills which are most important. I will
also learn risk minimisation approach in order to perform key goals and objectives
related to the business organisation I am working. The leadership style which I will
choose for doing operations of company will include democratic leadership style. The
democratic leadership style is effective in development of various functions in the
company as well as increases participation of employees (Presti, and Akkermans, 2022).
Feelings are important part of leadership as it helps in development of empathy and
sympathy for employees.
Evaluation- The evaluation stage is most crucial stage in Gibbs model of reflection
which includes assessment and analysis of whole situation. It is one of my major role to
understand the assessment of problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to lead
the marketplace. This is one of the major role of mine to understand the critical factors
which are helpful in increasing overall strength of company. There are various
companies at the marketplace which demands experience in order to provide best job
opportunities. I will develop experience related to working and also count the different
measures to train myself for the respective career field. I would like to also develop key
competitive strengths like focus on management approaches, leadership approaches and
organisational approaches to deliver best practices related to my career field. In order to
develop effectiveness in my career field, I will take into consideration advantages of
personal growth and development. Further to evaluate the whole situation, I will take
guidance of my seniors and professors.

reflection which includes the summary of whole situation. In order to work into effective

management so that I can do the task into multi tasking manner and also able to provide

these skills and have expertise into different aspects as well so that I can manage my

challenges faced by the organisation. It has been observed that there is requirement of
public speaking in every kind of job role so its really important for me to be enough
confident in terms of public speaking. I feel that to work into effective manner at the
organisational level, it is necessary for me to have interpersonal skill so that I can
effectively work into professional manner. There is requirement of developing hard skills
as well so that these skills can be useful at the organisational level which basically
include knowledge and expertise which is required to do the job. It is important for me to
develop problem-solving skills which is required in any kind of situation at the
organisational level so that I can easily face any kind of challenge into result oriented
manner. According to current business world, there is requirement to have commercial
awareness so that if an individual wants progression at the management level then it is
important to have the understanding of the market place where business has been
operated. It has been observed that there is requirement of developing management skills
so that I can effectively work at the organisational level. Management skills are important

can make good decisions so its very important for me to develop management skills into

The recruitment and selection are considered as key approaches which are beneficial in
providing right type of employees to the organisation (Wain, 2017). According to the experience
of role play, I have felt that I have to be more prepared and enough confident as well so that I can
perform into more result-oriented form. There are lots of questions which have been asked by the
interviewer in order to evaluate into deeper manner that how much I am confident about my role.
While performing my role, i was feeling nervous and excited as well because there are lots of
questions which I need to answer into continuous manner. While I was telling about my strengths
to the interviewer I was feeling very confident because I have put lots of hard work into it so that
I can achieve the results into proper format. For performing the role play, I have felt that I have
to be enough confident in terms of communication skills so that I can effectively communicate
into result oriented manner. I also felt that while performing the role play it is very important that
there should be proper eye contact with each other so that roles can be performed into more
effective manner.
From the experience of role play, I have learnt that it is very important for me to be very
conscious in terms of before speaking so that I can effectively communicate with other members
who are involved into the role play. According to the experience of role play, I have felt that I
have to speak clearly, calmly and into cohesive manner as well. I have to increase my
concentration power in terms of listening the question so that I can accordingly answer for it into
result oriented manner.
I also felt that I have to be very specific in terms of while describing any kind of
experience whether it is related to my job experience or about any kind of achievement as well. I
have learnt that if I am giving any reason about particular questions then it should be strong
enough that I can satisfy the interviewer into result oriented manner. According to the role play
experience, I have felt that I have to be very strong in terms of negotiation skills so that I can
properly negotiate with the interviewer into result oriented manner. From this experience, I have
learnt that I have to be very open-minded, clear, to the point, active and smart enough in terms of

handling questions into positive manner. I have also learnt that I have to be ready with my
questions at the end of role play so that I can clear all my doubts before giving commitment for
the particular kind of job role. In the process of recruitment and selection, confidence and self
motivation are two most important pillars (Woo, 2018).
In the overall manner, for the entire role play I have felt that communication skills and
confidence level plays a very significant role in terms of performing into positive manner. So this
role play has given me a very good experience that how to perform into actual job interviews and
also give me feel about how to perform my role into effective manner into those kind of
situations.
