I know that taking care of children is a very challenging job yet, I have decided to become a child carer.I will be able to use the modern scientific means of teaching the children. This will be very enlightening for me and for the students as well I will be able to use the ICT tools. I will be able to spend time with children and take care of them.As I am a fresher, things will be tough at the initial levels as there can be children who will be shy.I will have to take time in understanding them and dealing with them. I will have to do an extensive research work and make find out ways of engaging and motivating children. Ideal job This job will be ideal for me because I will be able to make use of the things that I have been taught in my academic career. I will not only help the children to get educated but will also help to reduce the burden of their parents. I think that this will be my ideal job because I can also use a lot of creative methods in this profession. I have always been of a very creative mind and I will be able to use my creative and innovative skills in this job. A child carer has to look after the mental, physical, psychological, social and also emotional aspects of children(Jordanet al. 2015, p. 152). The other roles and responsibilities of a child carer areto make sure that the children are not suffering from loneliness. They are to get their meals on time. A child carer provides them meals at a proper time, plays with
CAREER PLANNING them and teaches them the rules of health and hygiene.AChildcarer will also keep a strict eye upon the behavior of children. If the carer finds any emotional disorder it must be brought to the immediate notice of the parents. Figure2: A child carer cooks a meal for the children at the right time Skills and knowledge pathways Patienceis one of the key skills that will be needed by any childcarer. One has to work with small children all day long. So, a child carer will alwayshave to deal patiently with them. One always has to stay positive and keep a calm mind. A child carer has to remember that they will deal with kids and not with adults or any grown-up people.Another important skill is the initiative that is to be taken by the carer. In other words, a child carer must be able to come up with good and useful initiatives to solve any issues that might arise easily.
CAREER PLANNING However, the child carer will have to make sure that he or she is not getting tensed or panicking in any condition(Ren and Chadee 2017, p.155). Some of thevery essential employability skills are hardworking and dedication.Empathy is another skillthat must be present in anyone who wants to become a child carer. I think that I will need to developa good communication skill within myself so that I can talk with all the children in a nice and welcoming manner. Figure3: A child carer teaches children via games and word plays I will have to make sure that I amstaying positive. Working with small kids for 30 days at a stretch will never be an easy task. There will be many ups and downs but I will have to develop avery optimistic approach. I will also have tolearn the motivational skills both for myself and the children as well.

CAREER PLANNING In this context, I would like to recall the tips shared byMark Zuckerbergon how to become successful in a career. ï·One of the tips is to make mistakes. So, I will not take my failures in a negative or demotivating way. I will think of them as the building blocks of my success. I will try to learn from them and make sure that I do not commit the same in the future. ï·The other tip wasto learn from the people around you. I will learn to observe many other professional caregivers before I join this profession. This will help me to work in a sound manner. Taking help from the experienced people is always very useful(Lawrenceet al. 2015, p. 120). ï·The other was built a really good team. I will try to develop a good friendship and connection with the children that I will be looking after. I will try to make a team where we will be working as partners I will not scold them rather deal with them very patiently. Education and training pathways Study requirement is definitely essential for this job like any other job. One has to take an admission in the early childcare courses. This course will teach the aspirants with many different aspects like child behavior, child psychology, child nutrition and many other. It will also teach the child carers the different ways of dealing with the disabled or the differently able children. Last but not the least experience surely matters in this job filed like any other occupations. (Furman 2018, p.110). Job prospects I feel that the prospect of this occupation is really bright and popular particularly in the modern day scenario. This is because most of the parents in the modern day are working and
CAREER PLANNING they need a child carer to take care of their children(Spurket al. 2015, p. 140). The child carers can opt for an internship at any child care business firms to start with. This is a good opportunity for any fresher. Apart from this, after gaining a good amount of experience, one can also think about starting his or her own business. One might also start working as a child career at anybodyâs house. The other options in this profession areChildcare worker, Nanny, Daycare services that are after-school care services. These are all very important positions in the modern day scenario and they also have a good pay.The average pay earned by a child carer in Australia is about AU$21.41 per hour. So, the total pay can be expected to be something aroundAU$37,318 - AU$53,879.This profession has a very huge growth potential in the coming years.(Sutcliffeet al.2016, p.102). Being a child carer is beset with many challenges. I will be able to start my career with a very interesting job option. This will be very helpful in my personal grooming as well. Conclusion and recommendation So, I believe that I am suitable for opting for this occupation because I have a deep love for kids.I will keep this in mind that I will be working not only as a teacher for those children but acting like their parents in their absence. I am also of a very alert and conscious nature. So, this will help me in keeping a close eye on the child growth and development. I also know how to maintain a connection and follow up. I will maintain a constant connection with the parents of the children and forward them all the necessary details about their well being. I recommend myself to be more fluent in the people skill and on communication skill. I will have to talk with all the parents of the children. So I will have to be an extrovert. If I stay introvert then I will not be able to develop a connection with the
CAREER PLANNING children. I will also have to learn many word games, play acting skills and other such child- friendly things that will help me in the future. So, it can be concluded that this is also a very good career option that will help me to understand many new facts about child psychology. Taking up this profession will open an arena of new and innovative opportunities.
