INTRODUCTION Career research can be said to be a process wherein an individual carries out an in-depth analysis of all the available options with a view to choose a particular area of interest. This helps in ascertainment of the field whereby the person can gain entry to carry out professional developmentandgetelevatedintheoptedcareer.Thepreviousassignmenthelpedin acknowledgement of the desirable career area for the individual, i.e., store manager within retail sector. This field is appropriate for me as this is one of the growing sectors across the globe and the position of Store Manager is key to the success of a retail firm. The skills that I have acknowledgedtobeessentialformearecommunication,teamleadership,continuous improvement, conflict management and time management. Further, the knowledge areas and experience which I should possess is Marketing. This report will going to conduct my personal analysis, Career action plan and Curriculum vitae. PERSONAL ANALYSIS Retail sector is acknowledged to be one of the fastest growing sectors within the confines of United Kingdom. This sector is influenced by a large number of advancements that constantly take place under its confine. The rapid and consistent development and evolvement of this industry has led to the generation of large number of employment opportunities within this sector. Such opportunities foster an individual to pursue a career in this field and thereby get elevated in the professional life to carry out continuous development. In this regard, becoming a shop manager is regarded to be a lucrative opportunity for me as this will allow me to make use of skills and knowledge to undergo development of my professional personality. Being a shop manager, I would hold the responsibility to carry out all the essential activities pertaining to the store of respective retail firm and ensuring the resolution of all the challenges being faced by clients. For this, I will require the below explained skills and knowledge to get elevated into the chosen area of interest:- Skills required Communication:This is regarded to be one of the most essential skills that must be present within me so as to deal with customers in an effective manner. Also, this becomes essential for the store manager to communicate with other staff members in relation to the task and other organisational requirements.
Team Leadership Skills:This is regarded to be yet another essential skill that is required by me to ensure that the activities and processes of the respective retail firm get completed by practising coordination and cooperation among the members of the group. When collaborative tasksgetexecutedinthedesiredmanner,itinflatesthescopeforaccomplishmentof organisational goals and objectives within the stipulated course of time. Also, this skill will provide me assistance in leading the team in an effective manner so that they can work for the upliftment of company. Continuous Improvement:This is yet another significant and relevant skill that must be present within me to ensure that I undergo personal and professional development at regular intervals of time. For this purpose, it is essential that an in-depth assessment of my personality is carried out by me on a regular basis so as to identify the areas of improvement and work upon them. Conflict Management:It is one of the most imperative skills that must be possessed by me as a store manager as this will help me in resolving the conflicts taking place with staff members or clients. Time management:Being a store manager, it is significant for me to practice time management skills in order to ensure that all the activities of store of the respective retail firm get executed within the stipulated course of time. Apart from this, I have some strength and weakness which help me in getting work done related to my profession within effective manner. Explanation of these are as follows :- Strength– There are several strength of me which help me in working as an Store manager. Explanation of these are as follows :- Team leadership– This is my strength as I am good in leading team which is necessary while working in an organisation. As an tore manager there is requirement of team leadership because there are several teams working within store and it is important to lead them. So they can do daily basis operations within appropriate manner and result in gaining goals as well as objectives. Communication– I am good in communication which is one of my strength as it help me in sharing information with employees in effective manner. So that, daily basis activity will be conducted within required manner and result in achieving goals and objectives.
