INTRODUCTION
Career research is one of the important aspect that help an individual to know future career
opportunities provided within the surroundings of experience, occupation and knowledge. IN
addition to this, it is a step that every person takes in their life in order to make favourable
decision and gain ample number of opportunities as well. When an individual finishes its
qualification then they search and start looking for job opportunities associated to their field.
With the assistance of career research, the ideas which is available to graduates is find out in a
proper manner. I am recently completed my post graduation from an MBA school in the field of
marketing and finance. I am a fresher and want to gain opportunity in the same field that I
learned from the post graduation. With the assistance of my mentors and according to me, it is
observed by me that banking industry is of the growing and developing sector that offers large
number of opportunities to students and mainly to people who have the background of marketing
and sales. Therefore, with the assistance of primary & secondary research I found a position of
manager in Banking industry.
ANALYSIS & APPLICATIONS
The chosen sector is banking, it is an industry which handles credit, cash & other financial
transactions. In addition to this, it provide a secure and safe place to store credit and cash and
also offer checking accounts, saving accounts and certificates of deposit as well. Due to COVIS-
19, banking industry is gaining higher growth as people make use of net banking, online
payment option to pay their amount (Bilik, 2020). In the present, banks is coming up with their
own application for easy and convenient access of customer. It is determine that banking
industry contributes a major part in the growth of U.S. economy. Thus, banking industry is an
appropriate and suitable path which is contributing to employability & development of a person.
In order to do further evaluation associated to career choice & internship in bank, primary as
well as secondary research is conducted that is present below:
Secondary research
It is consider as a productive as well as most common form of research option that is adopt
by people in order to collect data that is already published and available on various sources that
is internet, books, magazines and many more. In addition to this, it is also termed as a second
hand information that enables a person to gain understanding and knowledge about a particular

topic that is reliable and authentic as well. The most common form of secondary data collection
source is internet and web pages.
General trends that have impact on the chosen profession
The selected profession is of becoming a bank manager that is gained by staring an internship
in a reputed bank that perform different actions. In banking sector, there are various
responsibilities and duties that is collecting cash, giving credit, loan sanctioned, security online
banking and so on. All this duties performed by the employees as per bank managers guidance so
that more and more number of clients is increased. Banking industry is dynamic and gaining
higher growth with the increasing in usage of digital and online banking option by people. The
major trends which are taking place within the banking industry is given below: Technological Advancement: It is one of the major change that take place because of
innovation and up gradation of technology. Banking industry is directly affect by
technological advancements in a positive manner. The service that is add up by banks due
to technology is mobile banking, UPI, development of own application, digital
transactions and so on (Branan, and Wheeler, 2018). This trend help banking industry to
gain higher growth that directly contributes to development of economy.
 Artificial intelligence: It is analysed that many of the nationalized and private banks is
adopt the of artificial intelligence and chatbots for assistance within the customer support.
It is determined that chatbots are one of the developing and emerging trends which are
highly estimated to grow.
Skills / knowledge & experience required
SKILLS: Effective Communication skill: It is significant for an individual to have an effective
communication skills so that it can convey message or information to other to other
person in an understandable and proper manner. Leadership skills: Being in a position of bank manager, there are various duties is
required to perform and also the responsibility to lead a team in a proper manner. For
this, leadership skills enable a person in guiding and instructing fellow subordinates so
that they can perform each and every activity properly. Problem solving skills: Performing the job role of a bank manager and managing a team,
issues and problems are common to be raised and this it is significant for a person to have

the capability to deal with problems and resolve it in proper manner (Vondracek, Lerner
and Schulenberg, 2019).
 Time management: It is one of the most important part employability skill that is
expected in a personal so that objectives is achieved on time period.
KNOWLEDGE AREA AND EXPERIENCE: Information Technology: It is determined that technology is bringing a major change
within the banking sector and also enhance the expectations of employees and customer
to gain knowledge and doing bank transaction in an easy and convenient manner.
 Financing: It is one of the important aspect for a banking person that is required in order
to gain the position of bank manager and perform activities in a proper manner. It consist
of various activities associated with the transaction of money (HIRSCHI and PANG,
2020). For this, banking intern for professional have experience and knowledge to
manage finance so that activities is execute in a proper way without any issues.

Primary research
Primary research is basically an original and first hand information that is used by
researcher in order to collect information by different sources. The sources of collecting primary
information is interviews, questionnaire, focus groups and so on (Laudel and Bielick, 2019). For
collecting primary data, I was engage with the bank manager of HSBC in concern with selecting
right and appropriate path. The script of interview is attached in appendix section.
Evaluation of Job advertisement:
I am recently completed my MBA in marketing and finance and is searching for the job
where I can apply my skills and learn new concepts and knowledge as well. HSBC is a renowned
organisation where I can gain professional and personal development as well. The respective
organisation is at present offering internship to students and according to me before getting a job,
it is important for me to have professional knowledge and skills as well. I have completed MBA
and want to work in a bank which shows that the job advertisement of HSBC is appropriate and
suitable with my requirements.
Evaluation
I am a fresher to perform the job role and to deal with real world of business. I am
completing my post-graduation recently in marketing and finance sector that has brought me to
another stage of my life which is to choose my career path for future. For gaining information
about what the career opportunities I have according to my field I have conducted research with

the assistance of primary as well as secondary techniques (Guo, Wang and Wang, 2019). By the
help of research & career auction, it is founded by me that banking sector is at present proving
best job opportunities ad is growing rapidly that is advantageous for fresher or new beginners as
well. Banking industry is changing with the way technology is changing and focuses on bringing
fresh blood so that more innovative ideas were developed to provide quality service to
customers. Moreover, it is determined that there are different skills is required for grabbing
opportunities and to perform job role in an effective manner. These are good communication and
interaction skills, team management, technical skills, research skills, leadership skills, problem-
solving and many more. Therefore, with the help of in-depth research I found out an opportunity
to do internship in a renowned bank that provides me to raise employability skills and also assist
me to gain both personal as well as professional development.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been concluded that career research is one of the important
aspect that help in gaining knowledge about career opportunities and right future of an
individual. In addition to this, career research report help a person to understand an analyse
current trends of a specific industry along with the job role they are looking for. Moreover, it
enable an individual to improve its skills in order to match with the skill set need in the present
business environment. In addition to this, it is important for a person to have employability skills
such as effective communication, team management, conflict handling and many more as it help
in gaining best opportunities in this competitive market.
