INTRODUCTION The skills and knowledge of an individual is necessary for achieving success in the organisation (Grima-Farrell, 2015). The employees in the organisation are having knowledge of the industry and they should maintain the skills which are important for increasing productivity. The knowledge is the most important factor and the employees should work towards increasing brushing the skills. I am taking Human resource as a profession because it is the most important resource of the organisation whether they are in any industry. The human resource should be managed because the employees help the organisation to grow. The report includes the trends whichwillimpacttheprofession,skillsandknowledgewhichwillberequiredinthe organisation. MAIN BODY Trends which has positive impact on the HR profession. In context of business organisation, HR profession plays a very crucial role in the growth and development of the business. As they are responsible to focus on the proper management of the human resource within the organisation (Wang, 2013). They act as a support system for the employees within the organisation where HR department helps them to enhance their career objective.Theyhasimpactontheperformanceoftheemployeesasaccordingtotheir contribution they are provided appraisal and get recognition in the organisation. In this growing business world the changes which are taking place has a impact on HR profession which is explained below- Adoption of digital technology- With the advancement in the technology the people are shifting from traditional methods to digital methods and are dependent on digital methods as it make the functions easier. The use of digital ways and techniques has an impact on the HR profession as they are not familiar with these methods and require time to know its operations in business process. The role of HR is important as they are responsible to manage the most valuable asset of the company that is human resource. Thus, once they come to know the functioning of these technological factors there work become easy and can drive effective results. Globalisation- This is one of the important factor which effect the HR profession as globalisation lead to changes in the operation system where it becomes difficult for them to 3
manage the employees in the different way. Moreover if the company want to expand its business in other countries then the globalisation has impact on the HR activities as they need to develop new strategics to deal with the situations at global level. In the process of expansion the company need to hire new employees and focus on their train and development due to which there workload increases (Yamamoto, 2013). There primary focus is to provide safe and comfortable working environment to new people. These different activities need to be handled by HR department where each activity has different context according to different work culture and environment. In order to control and regulate these divers set of activities the HR department need to come up with new strategies and innovate methods in order to influence the employees and achieve the targets in the most effective and efficient way. Online skill assessment-These factors play important role in the activities and practices of the HR profession as with the use of various digital tools company can effectively manage the talent of its employees. With the use of various methods such as surveys, tests, exams, etc they can identify the mind set of its employees and moreover provide an opportunity to its employees to take self assessment to know where they stand in the organisation. By this method they come to know lot many things about employees and can take its advantage by focusing on their weak areas and improving them (Jiang, 2017). Furthermore, they can increase the productivity level of the company by assigning work to employees according to their skills and capabilities. They are responsible to help the organisation in achieving its business goals make the employees more effective and efficient so that they can perform much better. Recruitment process- Its the responsibility of the HR profession to identify the talent from the group of people and according to the requirements of the company (Hou, Wu and Liu, 2014). Talent recruitment has the major impact on the activities of HR as its very important to hire talented and skilled people in order to help the organisation in achieving there goals and objectives. Hence, all these trends have impact on the activities of the HR profession and its important for them to consider these activities and trends in order to take corrective steps accordingly and perform their functions in most effective manner. 4
