INTRODUCTION
The duration in which individuals and employees seek to decide on appropriate
opportunities for their profession and career by pursuing the development of skills and
knowledge is known as career view. This requires the development of appropriate relationships
and strategies in order to coordinate with their subordinates and also meet the needs of customers
in order to increase profitability (Wu, Lee and Liao, 2018). The aim of this report is to help me in
developing my career plan in the travel and tourism industry. The study will look at a number of
factors that are influencing the tourism industry. It will also create a work advertisement with the
required qualifications. In regard of this, they must perform a self-assessment of their abilities,
taking into account personal analysis to determine their strengths, limitations, opportunities, and
risks. Furthermore, I need to develop a career Action Plan to improve my skills in order to
address risks and vulnerabilities.

General trends which will impact Tourism and Travel
Tourism is the fastest-growing sector in terms of transforming the world socially and
economically. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, 1.5 billion visitors
visited the world in 2019. In 2020, it is expected that international tourism will grow by 4%. The
following are some of the latest developments in the global tour and travel industry.
Ecotravel: Eco travel is a growing trend in which travellers prioritise sustainable and
environmentally friendly travel. These factors include the option to drive in an electric vehicle
when at the destination, as well as the availability of carbon credits (Ng, Lyons and Schweitzer,
2018). Eco trips include activities such as going to a conservation site and assisting with the
conservation guide. In this situation, the consultant must be aware of the conservation area and
details.
Contactless payment: Coronavirus has contributed to the use of contactless transactions
in everyday life in the United Kingdom. The tours and travel industry has emphasised Google
Pay and other digital payment apps because it speeds up transactions, reduces stress, and allows
for quicker check-ins and check-outs. Tourists do not need to bring debit or credit cards with
them. Candidates interested in a career in tours and travels should be familiar with all forms of
payment and be able to resolve any technological issues that arise during the payment process.

Increased safety and Hygiene: As a result of the Covid-19 failure, the UK tours and
travel industry are handling sanitization, social distancing, seating arrangements, the need of
masks, the provision of sanitization gel, and other issues. Graduates who want to work as travel
consultants should have experience teaching and handling social distancing, as well as taking
safety precautions.
Robots and automation: Because of the robot-staff feature, hotels are becoming
increasingly popular. Via the use of specific instruments, the robots perform reception duties.
Visitors may also order food and beverages from the computers. Travelers use internet chatbots
to book hotels (Aloudat, 2017). In the absence of travel agent, chatbots can handle queries and
provide details. Robots and chatbots are used in order to manage social distancing and customers
are fascinated by robots and chatbots, which has a positive influence on the industry.
Personal Analysis
When it comes to recognising personal skills and expertise, which is a part of self-evaluation,
every individual should perform a SWOT analysis because it aids in identifying growth areas
within a professional's knowledge and skills, such as strengths, limitations, opportunities, and
threats.
 Strengths: My strengths include innovation and individuality, which contribute to an
effective hike in my overall performance, as well as team approach skills, which enable
me to create creative designs that contribute to an effective hike in my overall
performance. In this sense, I also have several project-related attributes that have been
determined to be an advantage for me and my project over the competition, as well as a
unique skill for the current workplace. Customer experience quality of service offered

of my competencies, as these skills help to improve my overall performance and inspire
me to work to my full potential (Sharf, 2016).
 Weaknesses: It requires the appropriate skills and experience, in which I am lacking,
such as my professional licence and a portfolio. Since I have a shortage of staff members
and technical equipment, I often have a lot of problems when performing my job role,
which can be a hindrance to my overall success. These obstacles arise as a result of a lack
of financial capital and credit worthiness, which prevents me from promoting and
