INTRODUCTION Job opportunity for travel agent is considered to be best and knowledgeable because it provides job seeker knowledge, experience and growth in the industry. It is considered to be act as a link creation between customers and travel organization (Crawford and et.al., 2016). There are various skills and knowledge required to become a good travel agent. These skills and knowledge are as follows -Interpersonal skills, Communication skills, Active listening, Ability to create rapport, Time management, knowledge of travel and tourism industry and technical knowledge. Present report will highlight the personal analysis of fresher travel agent and their career action plan for future. MAIN BODY Personal Analysis Personal analysis is the stage that consist of different phases that involves training and development of an individual in the company. It also helps in identifying the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of an individual. It involves the career goals of an individual (Parks- Leduc, Feldman and Bardi, 2015). I have developed skills, knowledge and experience from travel and tourism industry for achieving the target in the industry. I have developed interpersonal skills as through this I am able to interact with people easily and don't feel hesitating in communicating with people as earlier I was shy. I have also improved my communication skill as travel agent it is necessary to communicate with people. I am having good time management as I have managed all the arrangements that is required for the purpose of travelling. As being travel agent I have experienced that technical skills is required for handling travel agency and knowledge regarding the packages that is available to customers and how to sell that travel package and attracting more customer towards the company. I have chosen this industry to understand the market trend that is being SWOT Analysis Strength My communication skill gets strong from the experience that I have gained as travel agent. As my lightening skill is also good as I am travel agent its easy for me to communicate 1
with other people and that help in attracting more customer towards the company. My time management skills is also good as I am punctual in doing any work. Weakness My weakness is that as my interpersonal skill is not good as I am not able to interact and behave in quality manner with customers so company have to bear loss of customer sometimes. I am trying to overcome these weaknesses as I am trying to interact more with people so that customers are attracted towards the company. Opportunities As in the future I am thinking of expanding business as by providing more services to the customer. By providing all the needs and wants online that will enhance the business in future. I also have an opportunity for providing multi generational trip as nowadays these are increasing day by day. Threats As travel agent I am having many competitors in the market who are providing travel services to the customers. They may be more capable of attracting customers as compared to me so it is the biggest threat for me. There is a threat of shifting of customer towards other company as they are providing better services than my company (Little and Gee, 2017). I feel that I am weak in communicating with different age group and different culture people so because of it I am not able to convince customers as compared to competitors. Career Action Plan A career action plan is a document which act as a roadmap for the students who are going to choose their career. In this plan, he will choose an occupation and desire to achieve an advancing in their career by following the particular path (Gould, 2017). Develop Customer Service Skill Managerneedstodealwithvarious customers' feedback and complaints. Also, he needs to interact with various kinds of clients and parties. Improve Decision Making Skill For the improvement of decision making skills - I need to think rationale and logical inallthesituationinorderto understandandanalysisthe situations and reach out the results by taking decision.
