INTRODUCTION
There are various kinds of health and social care services that are required by older
people as their health and wellness starts degrading. Aged people require various kinds of
services and information so that they can take care of themselves as well as of their health, carry
out their domestic chores in a proper and effective manner. this assessment will lay emphasis
upon analysis of a case study of Mr. and Mrs. T in which evaluation of principles of support,
policy and practice related to the case study will also be done.
MAIN BODY
Overview of case stud
Mr. & Mrs. T are above 85 years old couple. Mr. T is suffering from progressive dementia
with various other chronic diseases. Both of them take care of each other but recently due to a
fall Mrs. T had to undergo hip operation and had to use a mobility frame. Due to this they need
information upon ways in which they can gain required information and support so that they can
manage their lives in a much better manner.
Support available in the current health & social care context for Mr. & Mrs. T
There are various kinds of support available for older people like Mr. & Mrs. T in terms
of health and social care. There are various kinds of health and social care organizations that can
provide support to Mr. & Mrs. T in many different ways.
Provision of information in terms of taking care of oneself independently: Many health and
social care organizations make themselves available for older people in terms of provision of
information and advices (Regan, 2016). Mr. & Mrs. T can ask for information and advice in
terms of living independently, ways in which they can enhance their overall health and
wellbeing, mobility services or equipment’s that can be used by them so that they can easily take
care of each other and live independently.
Support in terms of home care services: Many social care services provide home care service to
older people or people who have difficulty in carrying out their daily lives independently. Mr. &
Mrs. T can get help for carrying out their daily household maintenance like laundry etc. in which
she faces difficulty.
Support in terms of health care service, mobility and self-care: Mr. & Mrs. T can also get support
in terms of healthcare facility. They can be provided with healthcare support so that Mrs. T can
carry out her daily activities without using or least using mobility frame and Mr. T’s overall
