(2006) these activities involve various stakeholders into business decisions in order to enhance
the credibility and trust of business. This aspect has become very essential for the companies in
order to create shared value for business and society. Sustainability is not only essential for the

social issues by adopting effective measures to manage cultural and social diversity, human
rights is practised within the companies in order to enhance social perspective, equal opportunity
measures is also an effective measures that organizational adopt in order to create an high impact
on social issues within the market. Ligeti and Oravecz, (2009) examines that economic factors of
the model focuses on developing a positive impact on the shareholders by focusing on the
growth and development of the company. Moreover transparency of information and facts are
practised to develop influential relations with stakeholders. Efficient risk management and
consistency in business operations helps in developing high level of trust and loyalty for the

effective measure to manage the sustainability of business by developing corporate social
responsibility within the market. The model efficiently helps in determining the impact of all the
three measures on the overall growth of the company.
2.3 Types of CSR activities undertaken
Corporate social responsibility is a broad and wide concept which focuses on creating an
effective impact on the organizational growth and development. Various units undertake
different CSR tactics in order to create a wide impact on the society. The major types of CSR
activities adopted by the business units according to the Vanhamme and Grobben, (2009) include
the measures which have been discussed henceforth.
Economic responsibilities are one of the major responsibility that a business unit adopts
which aims at earning high profits to ensure suitability and business growth within the
competitive market. The growth of business is the sole ail of the companies however
management and investors has the responsibilities and associated people with the companies as
well (Lindgreen and Swaen, 2010). Business crises for the company may create an adverse
impact on employees, investors and shareholders. The downfall of the company results in similar
impact on them as well. Thus economic responsibilities of the business are considered as one of
the major aim of the business unit. For example continuous continuous loss in Nokia endangered
the economic growth of the company which resulted in the sustainability of the business
(Parguel, Benoît-Moreau and Larceneux, 2011). The company however merged with Microsoft
in order to ensure the growth of employees and shareholders associated with the business.
7

Legal responsibilities of the company is yet another significant responsibility under CSR
activities. The profitability and growth of business is inconsiderable if the organizations are
unable to adopt the legal laws and regulations for the growth and development of business units.
This in turn results in creating an adverse impact on the brand image of the company (Colleoni,
2013). Issues such as transparency of informations, Unlawful practices, frauds etc. are the
practices which are not right and businesses avoid such practices for mere economic benefits.
For example recent spring crises in Tesco due to over representation of organizational profit
created a huge impact on the brand image of the company. This resulted in losing huge
consumers and employees thus resulting in heavy losses for the unit.
Ethical responsibilities in the companies are demanded widely for developing global
brand image within the economy. These responsibilities of the companies include activities such
as choosing right way of doing the things (Golob and Podnar, 2011). These measures focus on
creating a valid and effective impact on the overall growth of the companies by fair and ethical
actions. Environmental responsibilities, developing effective working environment, adopting
labour laws, influencing labour welfare activities are few measures adopted by the organization
under this responsibility.
Philanthropic responsibilities are responsibilities that go above and beyond what is
simply required or what the company believes is right. These responsibilities of the company
focus on adopting activities which involve effective measures to involve the efforts of the society
(Bakar Sheikh, and Ameer, 2011). Charity, society development, development of the countries
etc. are some of the examples that are adopted by the business unit to create an effective impact
on society through effective social responsibility.
2.4 CSR communication
According to Blombäck and Scandelius, (2013) CSR activities are highly adopted by
various companies and business units in order to create an effective impact on the organizational
growth and development within the competitive market. Companies focuses on taking CSR
activities and effectively communicate them in order to develop high and required impact of the
same. CSR communication is a measure where by the companies focuses on developing an
effective measure of communication to public, employees and government as well which helps
them making educated decisions within the market. This measures helps the companies in
creating a wide impact on the overall growth and development within the society.
8

Effective CSR communication helps in developing a positive perception on people thus
helping organizations in meeting the objectives of business operations. Arvidsson (2010) states a
simple fact that companies which efficiently communicate their cause initiatives are significantly
more likely to believe that they are achieving their cause related objectives. Developing effective
communication measures helps the companies in influencing consumer attitude towards products
and services offered within the market. Pohl and Tolhurst (2010) explain that at times companies
are unable to change the consumer’s perception in favour of the organizational objective due to
lack of proper communication measures. CSR communication is thus a critical task for the
organization as it poses high level of threats if wrong measures of communication are chosen by
the companies.
The framework of CSR communication helps in developing a clear and effective
understanding of various factors which creates high impact on the developing favourable
outcomes for the developing effective consumer impact.
CSR communication focuses on company's involvement in various social causes. The
framework outlays all the factors which impact the process in order to attain favourable

outcomes. The most significant factor of the CSR communication frameworks deals with
message content initiative. A business unit is unable to develop an effective impact on society
unless it is able to derive effective attention and commitment by creating effective understanding
(Taubken and Leibold, 2010). Message content thus focuses on three major factors which
include commitment, impact and fit. Commitment refers to a support a cause or an event where
companies take responsibility of social cause such as developing society, creating change etc.
Impact of the content focuses on the output rather than input by the company. While content fit
deals with analysing that the cause is effective for the present moment or not. All these factors
help in developing an effective message content.
According to Taubken and Leibold, 2010 external outcomes are gained in terms of
favourable outcomes form various stakeholders. The stakeholder’s commitment and involvement
is one of the most effective results of effective CSR communication. This leads to developing an
efficient profitability within the market. Consumers develops trust thus enhances brand loyalty.
The purchase attributes for the products changes which help them in choosing company's product
over other. The employees develop trust and loyalty for the company thus enhancing
productivity of employees. These measures contribute in increasing the overall sales and
productivity of businesses. Thus the framework of CSR communication clearly reflects the
activities and factors which entities efficiently consider for the same.

participating in developing unique and effective measures for CSR communication. These
measures help in developing a valid and effective impact on overall growth of the business unit.
The trends and measures have been modifying to suit the needs and requirements of the
community. Bakar, Sheikh and Ameer, 2011 states that developing CSR communication trends
has helped business in creating an effective impact on developing the brand recognition within
the society.
The trend which has been analysed and practised within the economy in the present era
includes few prominent measures. Employers are being highly committed towards overall
growth of the company and employees as well in order to analyse the needs and significance of
the trend within the economy. This has helped them in developing a well-structured measure to

independent communication sources which develops brand recognition within the economy. This
measures helps organizations in creating an edge within the market.

by the society which helps in enhancing sales globally. This develops commitment within
various stakeholders existing within the market (Raupp, 2011). Product packaging is so planned
that it clearly explains the CSR measures adopted by the company in order to enhance the
popularity of the organization in the market.

measures have helps the businesses in widely developing effective means of CSR
communication within the market. This measure helps in developing high level of commitment
form the stakeholders and develops a well-integrated measures of analysing needs and
requirements of society and developing strategies to fulfil the same. Responsible communication
helps in developing cause brand of the company but attaining current needs and requirements of
the society. This measure proves to a strategic fit for the society.
Researches and studies have reflected that companies are focusing in creating a wide
impact on growth through transforming societies using web tools. These measures help
organization in creating a wide impact on developing an effective impact on consumers by
analysing their needs and requirements. This tool helps in developing effective measures of
seeking information from consumers about products and services and exchanging information
for developing promotional measures (Four Types of Corporate Social Responsibility, 2015).
This trend has helped companies in reducing cost of services and creating a wide impact on the
overall development of information. Companies develop online campaign and measures to

research problem and developing overall analysis around key research issues. It helps researcher
in developing an in-depth analysis of various research approach to create an in-depth
understanding of the topic and developing a well structured approach to deal with the issue as
well. Research onion is an effective measure in which research problem lies in the center and
thus several layers needs to peel away for resolving a single research problem (What is research
methodology? definition and meaning, 2015). The objective of the present report is to evaluate
the impact of CSR communication on an event venue. In order to attain the stated objective the

3.2 Research philosophy
This is the outermost layer of the research onion. This layers focuses on developing the
effective approach for developing a research. Research philosophy is defined as a well developed
cluster of beliefs developing ideas about how to approach the research issue to attain desired
outcome (Johnson and Christensen, 2008). Research philosophy helps the researcher is
determining effective measures of resource allocation to utilize the limited constraints of time,
cost and resource efficiently. The major method adopted to carry out research philosophy is
interpretivism and positivism. Positivism concept deals with the objective concepts of the
research while interpretivism discusses the subjective issues of the research.
The current research focuses on analyzing the CSR communication strategies and its
impact on event venue while referring Hyde Park of London as the case. In order to successfully
achieve the set objectives the researcher has adopted the mixed approach to develop an effective
result for the research problem. Positivism is a highly structured strategy which helps in
16

developing clear impact of set standards and universal concepts of the theories and philosophies.
For the current report this strategy helps in developing an in-depth idea about various measures
of CSR communication and the concepts which helps in developing an effective impact of the
same (The Selection of a Research Approach, 2014). This helps in developing a well structured
understanding of the concepts while developing the fundamental base for the subject.
Interpretivism on the other hand has been adopted in order to take a soft approach for the
research. It focuses on considering the social and environmental behaviors significantly for the
research. CSR activities are widely involved with social development and society upliftment.
Considering these factors current report has adopted Interpretivism philosophy (McMillan and
Schumacher, 2014). The application of this strategy helped researcher in gaining an effective
insight about consumer perception about various communication strategies Hyde Park uses for
CSR activities. Implementation of this strategy was of significant significance to the researcher
as it helped in minimizing the gap between research subject and researcher's knowledge.
Interpretivism helped the researcher in developing a clear understanding of the issues and
prospects of the research problem. Hence current research has adopted both the measures to
effectively analyze the research problem and attain the probable solution for the same.
3.3 Research approach
This layer of the process carries out an effective measures of analyzing research issues by
applying effective approach to deal with the given issue. Prior to setting research philosophy
researchers seeks to set a developed plan for research approach. This layer focuses on setting an
effective measure of developing measures to create effective analysis of the study. Researchers
focuses on implementing right measures of approaching the study (Zikmund and et.al., 2013).
Inductive research approach and deductive research approach are the two major ways of
approaching the research problems. Research design helps in choosing appropriate research
approach for the current investigation (Deduction & Induction, 2014). Deductive research design
is the in which uses various methods and studies to attain the conclusion of the research. This
approach develops an effective hypothesis and develops various strategies for testing hypothesis.
This method is a bit complex but highly effective to develop a clear analysis for the given
problem. Inductive research approach on the other hand is the one which use the collected data
and analyze the same in order to draw the effective conclusions. Here researcher uses data
analysis measure for a clear understanding.
17

Current research problem seeks to find out the impact of communication strategies on
CSR activities of the company. The research topic is vast and highly exploratory. In order to
create a successful research approach for the same inductive research study has been applied for
the same (Pantin-Sohier, 2009.). The researcher collected data from the consumers and
prospective consumers of events venue in order to get a clear and effective perception for the
topic. Moreover this measure significantly helps in saving time and developing different
understanding about the current issues. The inductive research seeks to create an effective and
clear impact of the theories and models for the current research. The researcher efficiently used
effective measures to attain the results in favour of the research problem. This approach develops
a deep and clear understanding about the specific concepts of the study and refers to all the
general concepts to validate the same.
3.4 Research strategy
Next layer of research onion deals with developing research strategies to approach
research issues efficiently. This one of the most significant and effective part of research
methodology. Research strategy focuses on resolving the research issue efficiently in order to
gain the required result for the problem. There are various ways in which researcher seeks to
attempt research question in order to develop effective understanding (Keightley, 2010). Various
strategies applied to approach the research questions are experimental, survey, case study, action
research, grounded theory and narrative inquiry, etc. For the current study researcher used the
measures of survey and case study.
Survey method is one of the most effective measure which helps in developing an
effective impact on data collection measures for the research measures. This method helped the
researcher in creating a wide impact on analyzing consumers’ needs and perception to draw
effective conclusion. The current research approach is inductive and in order to efficiently carry
out the same researcher approached the consumers of Hyde part event to analyze the consumer
perception about the given topic. Researcher sued the mode of questionnaire to evaluate in depth
analysis of various measures which helped the company in creating a wide impact on growth and
development of the company (Sobh and Perry, 2006). Moreover this measure of primary data
collection helped in collecting reliable data for the research issue.
Case study measures provides the additional information for the research problems to
help researcher in attaining a clear idea about the current measures the company adopts in order

to efficiently carry out CSR activities. Researcher undertook an in depth measures for conducting
a narrative inquiry for the given research issue. Moreover the associated people with the venue
were also approached in order to develop a clear and effective understating about the issues and
problems faced by the company with regards to the CSR activities
3.5 Research choices
Research choices are the layer which seeks the appropriate and research method for the
given study. This deals with various choices the researcher have in order to carry out the research
effectively. Research choices for the researcher are accustomed to various constraints such as
time money and resources as well. Thus these measures are dependent on the availability of
resources and seek to make the best and maximum utilization of available resources (Sunil and
et.al, 2014). On the basis of current research Author attempts to evaluate the impact of various
communication strategies on CSR activities with reference to Hyde Park.
There are multiple research choices available with the researchers. In order to carry out
the research efficiently researcher adopts a a mixed method approach where both qualitative and
quantitative measures are applied for the study. Qualitative research measures helps the
researcher in developing an in depth analysis of research problem. This method helps in
understanding the subjective concepts of CSR activities of the organization. This measure
develops effective theoretical perspectives for the research issues. The method of data analysis
proves to be a significant factor of carrying out the qualitative research (Formulating the
research design, 2015). Consumers perception and theoretical knowledge is efficiently used and
applied here to gain an in depth knowledge of the given issue. Consumer’s perception is not
similar always, considering the same qualitative method helps in evaluating subjective theories
of research.
Quantitative measures on the other hand have been adopted in order to gain a clear and
concise information for the research. These are the numerical and quantitative data which helps
the researchers in gaining a valid information for the research (Golafshani, 2003). For the present
study the researchers collected the data and represented same in the qualitative measures using
SPSS tool. The effective representation of statistical data using various graphs and tables
developed a clear and reflective study about the prevailing research problem.
19

3.6 Time Horizon
This is significant part of the research study as this factor helps in developing a well
structures measure of data collection. This measure helps in analyzing measures for data
collection on the basis of selected population. Current study focuses on seeking an effective
measures of data analysis about various CSR activities that are adopted by the event venue
companies. The two major strategies prevailing for the same are cross sectional measures and
longitudinal measure. For the current study cross sectional measure has been adopted as this
helps in developing an effective way of developing research. This approach seeks the population
of specific time. The current study will seek the information from the consumers of event venue.
This will helps in creating an effective impact on the overall understanding. These researchers
are developed to meet the specific research issues (Bryman, 2008). On contrary to this
longitudinal measure is adopted for researches whose objective is wide and ongoing. These
researches help in developing an effective impact on the organizational growth by creating
efficient measures of developing long term study. This measure is not valid for the current study
as CSR activities and communication measures are ever changing. Thus these researches are to
conducted for a short time frame.
3.7 Techniques and Procedures
3.7.1 Data Collection
Data collection is one of the crucial part of a research study. This method helps in
creating an effective measures to collect the valid and reliable information form the various
sources and prevailing population as well. This measure helps in developing an effective
measure of creating an in-depth analysis for the research. Primary and secondary sources of data
are the two most effective and widely used measures for data collection. It helps in resolving the
research questions prevailing in the current research study (Diment, 2012).
Primary data is fresh and new data for the researchers. This helps in collecting the first
hand data for the research which significantly represents current needs and preferences of the
community. Primary data develops an authentic source of information for the research if
researchers use unbiased and proper measures of data collection. For the current study primary
data collection has been carried out on the basis of a structure questionnaire. This helped the
researchers in collecting valid and effective information form the consumers of the Hyde part
event venue. Secondary source of information includes all the past data, facts and figures,
20
Document Page
researches and new reports, these measures are used by the researchers in order to get an
effective idea about the research study and analysis that has already been conducted in the
similar issues. The researcher used secondary data collection measures in order to develop a
clear and valid information of the research problems. Various books, journal, articles and new
reports have been referred for the same in order to develop an effective understating for the
current topic.
3.7.2 Sampling
Sampling is an effective and significant part of the research study as it helps the
researcher in creating a valid and effective source and information and data collection. Sample
represents a small part of vast population fir the research. Effective sampling helps in developing
valid and authentic research results however if researchers are unable to implement the effective
measures of sampling it significantly threatens the successful attainment of research objective
(Fiegen, 2010.).
The current research focuses on analyzing the impact of communication strategies in
CSR of Hyde Park. In order to develop an effective sample researcher used the probabilistic
measures for selecting the sample. This measure helped the organization in sufficiently selecting
random people for the research. This minimized the chances of defects and biasness. For the
research a sample size of 25 consumers has been selected which helped the researcher in
developing a clear and effective idea about the consumers perception and organization's practices
as well.
3.7.3 Data analysis
The researchers are conducted in order to clearly analyze the data and represent the same
for further reference and understanding as well. The current research seeks to develop an
effective impact of CSR communication of Hyde Park. For analysing the data, qualitative and
quantitative are two set of techniques available. Qualitative measures develop an effective
analysis of data using various tools and models. Thematic analysis is the common measures that
the companies adopt in order to efficiently carry out the research. Quantitative data on the other
hand uses statistical measures in order to efficiently carry out the given research. The current
study will adopt both qualitative and qualitative measures for the study. SPSS tool has been used
in order to carry in the research study. This software applied an effective analysis of data to
attain the required results for the study.

objectives of the study.
Analyzing people perception: The behavioral and social factors of the people poses a
major challenge for the researcher as it becomes very difficult to develop consumer’s
perception for products and services. Moreover behavioral factors of the people are prone
to limited biasness. Thus researcher has taken this factors in effective consideration for
conducting the mentioned research.
3.9 Ethical issues and considerations
Effective efforts have been incorporated to carry out the report on valid and ethical
grounds. In order to take these factors into consideration the researcher took effective measures
