1.1 Determining management area of investigation that has its implication on the work related
area
This research report is based upon the topic of “To investigate the effectiveness of adding
additional work space in reducing the work load and meeting the demand of services: A case
study of NHS (National Health Services)”. Heavy work load as well as increased waiting time of
customers is being regarded as one of the most common problem that is being faced by the firms
which delivers services. In health and social care firm also, the given problem is so frequent and
common. This is because, on daily basis the health care individual has to deal with the large
number of patients who have specific need. Here, in order to give an effective service to these
individuals, enterprise must have to take measure with regard to reduce the waiting time of
customers (Munn-Giddings and winter, 2013). However, this can be done by them if they make
efforts with respect to add additional work space in their existing operation.
In accordance with the given context, as per the view point of Aveyard, 2014 “Additional
work space is the practice of enhancing the existing area of delivering the services” (Aveyard,
2014). In terms of services, carrying out the appointment of more doctors for the specific type of
diseases is also being consider as the practice of adding space to the existing area. In addition to
this, according to the view point of Reeves and et.al., 2011 “The waiting time of customers can
be reduced if significant increment in the number of doctors will be carried out who have
specialization in dealing with particular type of problems” (Reeves and et.al., 2011). The thing as
being specified by the authors is right. This is because, it has been seen that the firms that have
practices such type of thing has gained the positive result in the form of reduction in the waiting
time of buyers. Thus, the tactic of increasing the number of doctor within health care firm is
effective.
In addition to this, with the help of given approach the work load type of situation which
is occurring within firm can also be controlled. As a result of it health care firm will be able to
carry out its efforts with regard to deliver the high quality of services to the patients. This will
help in enhancing the motivation of workers (Steventon and et.al., 2013).
For the purpose to carry out the given report, NHS is selected. It is the publicly funded
health care firm that delivers services in Europe. The firm offers wide range of services to its
patients and it makes the significant efforts with regard to deliver the high quality of services to

the patients. The firm not only delivers the health care services but it also suggested varied type
