This case study reflection discusses a clinical scenario experienced in a geriatric ward, its consequences and the lessons learnt from the event. The reflection is based on Driscoll’s Model of Reflection. The article highlights the importance of falls prevention in geriatric wards and the role of nurses in post-fall interventions. The article also discusses the barriers to effective falls prevention in hospital settings and the need for adequate training among healthcare providers. The article concludes by highlighting the importance of establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and practicing effective patient safety interventions.
