Positive and negative aspects of products & services being sold online
Quick and easy going
Online selling is easier to setup as compared with the physical store. The online
marketplaces does not require high technical expertise and the websites are easier to implement
nowadays with customisable and out of the box e-commerce solution that come in the pre-
packaged forms.
Cost Effective
The cost of selling the products and service online is easier as compared with setting up a
physical location. Online market platforms charge small amount for the listing items.
Organisations could also go for the e-commerce software package that are also inexpensive
(Harris and et.al., 2017). It reduces the need for physical offices or extra staff for the business.
24 hour sales
One of the biggest advantage of online sales is that the marketplaces are active and
trading all the day throughout year which reduces the need for going to stores for making sales. It
provides the flexibility to customers in making sales whenever it is convenient for them from

anywhere and everywhere. It also saves time of seller as it gets order only when customer has
selected and made a purchase order.
Everywhere reach
The online mode of marketing has allowed to make purchase and sales to any part.
Online source has allowed the people to shop without visiting physically and getting the goods at
their doors. Companies have expanded their business to global reach through online platforms.
Negative Aspects
Marketplace takes a cut
Through the online mode sellers using the online platforms have to pay a fixed amount of
share in the profits. This is not the case in offline mode where they get the full amount. Sellers
have to focus more over increasing the sales.
Less customer interactions
The people cannot feel the quality of products being bought online. In offline mode
sellers make effective customer relations that help in retaining them and creating customer
loyalty (Kristianto, 2018). Over online mode maintaining the customer loyalty is a challenging
task for the business.
Higher competition
High streets have limited shops where the internet have no constraints over number of
sellers that are striving to win the business. There is direct competition with all the sellers of the
nation that are selling the products. Standing the business and products separate from crowd
requires increased level of marketing and uniqueness in the products.
Positive and negative aspects of offline mode
Positive aspects
Building customer relations
Shopping over the stores lets customers to identify closely the products and services.
Studies have shown that people like to visit places more where they have been treated well and
given preference. Therefore customer loyalty is maintained in the offline mode.
Feel & Touch
At stores the customer can touch and feel the products. They could know the actual state
of the product and could check at the spot whether it is able to meet the requirement. It helps the
business in getting more effective frameworks for customers and to know their requirement
