Critical Analysis Reflective Paper2 Critical Analysis Reflective Paper Introduction The workplace has been changing over the recent years and the advancement in technology has brought about various fluctuations in how the same is managed. The development of artificial intelligence, as well as robotics, have defined a new structure of assigning various tasks to workers as well as limited the operations of humans on the same. According to Robbins, and Judge, (2016, p.28), the arising issues within the workplace have had detrimental as well as positive effects on the overall productivity in the workplace. The purpose of this report is to evaluate the various important issues regarding the workplace especially due to advancement in artificial intelligence technologies, examine the changing workplace, strains, dilemmas and contradictions that the management faces and evaluate the various elements that are required for succeeding in the uncertain employment future. Review of the Important Issues Changing Levels of Productivity Productivity is one of the issues that have changed due to the development of artificial intelligence and robotics. According to Robbins, and Judge, (2016, p.48), the more advanced robotics have the ability to tackle tasks much faster and more efficiently compared to the human beings, thereby eliminating the need for humans as workers due to their reduced productivity. I think that the shifting production levels cause issues in the workplace as more of the humans are not employed and thus the changing nature of the employment. Increased Dependency I believe that dependency on the robots and artificially intelligent androids in the production process as employees is one of the issues persisting in the changing workforce
Critical Analysis Reflective Paper3 environment. According to Robbins, and Judge, (2016, p.73), more companies are increasingly becoming dependent on the robots to ensure that they undertake most of the tasks due to their high productivity and accuracy. However, studies show that the robots are becoming more and more intelligent and this is an issue as humans have become highly dependent on them in production to a point where humans cannot handle some of the tasks that these gadgets can. Critique of the Case on Changing Workplace The changing nature of the workplace is faced with various issues and challenges that may affect the overall operations of a company. Ramaswamy, (2018, p.25) purport that these challenges bring about reduced performance and they limit the overall operations of the workers. It, therefore, becomes apparent to understand the strains, contradictions, and dilemmas that the management faces when these changes in the workplace occur (Bissell, and Del Casino, 2017, p.453). Strains, Dilemmas and Contradictions Facing Management Among the dilemmas that the management faces are selecting the most appropriate worker for a given job, especially if they are all humans and not robots. According to Ransbotham, et al., (2017 , p.22), the limitation of workers forces all the employees to seek the most jobs in a given firm, thus resulting in challenges of establishing proper grounds through which an employee should be assigned a task. I think that these dilemmas may cause a strain in the management such that they become unable to make informed decisions. According to (Brougham, and Haar, 2018, p.240), the management has to make decisions regarding an organization and integrating the issue of proper management of these employees to ensure that they are well managed. As a result, these managers may strain in conducting these checks, which is not ideal for proper development.
Critical Analysis Reflective Paper4 According to Arntz, Gregory, and Zierahn, (2016, p.1), other contradictions that affect the management are also inclusive of the limited timeline they have for working and maintaining the needs of an organization. The time limitation, as well as increased number of contradictions in the workplace, thus affect the operations of the management. Evaluative Conclusions on necessary elements to strive and thrive in the uncertain future It is apparent that the management ensures to devise strategies that can aid in eliminating the challenges they face for better outcomes in the changing workplace. One of these strategies will involve developing a clear line between work to be done by humans and the type of work that the robots should be completing. Through the separation and specialization of tasks, De Masellis, et al., (2018, p.2) notes that the management will not face many challenges in managing the workforce. Also, it is recommended that the management remember that the development of robots that are artificially intelligent does not necessarily mean that there is no need for human input. As the robots are devices, it is paramount that they will need assistance and control from normal human beings, which is essential to ensure the future is appreciated. Conclusion I have come to understand thatworkplace is continually changing and there is need to develop competencies and strategies that are effective in ensuring that these changes will not result in detrimental outcomes in future. As a result, therefore, the recommended changes should be implemented for better outcomes in the workplace.
