1. Select a policy from your service that you can modify. Identify one current policy trend that relates to
this policy (i.e. the general direction in which matters connected with policies are developing or
changing). Explain the impact this may have on policy development.

Health and safety policy among the Early childhood education and care services has been modified. Currently
the services regarding this specific policy are focused towards providing appropriate health and safety
measures within the workplace premises in which the education has been provided to children's. They offer
services in order to address or handle the situations and support staff to understand their role and
responsibilities. This policy effectively able to address the children's physical and emotional health,
development and growth along with their capability to reach their full potential as adults.
2. Research and briefly explain 2 suggested policy formats and structures that may be used in an ECEC
service. (Attach 1 sample formats). Explain which format would be best suited to your service and why?

The two suggested policy formats within the early childhood education and care services are Child
Centered approach and Health and safety measure approaches. In context of choosing one out of above
mentioned two approaches, Health and safety measure approach will be implemented in order to set their
own pace and provides supplementary remedial instructions. As after the introduction of pandemic
situations, the childhood care and their safety measures are at primal responsibility in order to educate
children's regarding them.
3. Facilitate open constructive discussions with others about policy issues and their possible solutions.

As per recent challenges that has been faced by the educational institutions, it has been identified that the
pandemic plunge, declining mental health, low pay, remote instructions, lack of resources and easy
burnout are some of the major challenges faced. In order to provide and rectify such issues among the
society, certain solutions such as diligently follow the state health and safety regulations, keeping
handbooks and policies updated, regular cleaning and sensitization, store and prepare food correctly,
trained staff members are some of the appropriate solutions that can a help the educators to deal with
health and safety issues in most efficient manner.
4. Using the policy, you selected. Develop a draft policy. See the suggested format on Page 9 of your class
notes. Ensure the policy reflects the organizations culture, values and objectives, law, regulations and
your research.

Responsibilities The Department of Education has the primary
responsibility or overall accountability to ensure
practicability in context of health and safety of teachers,
children's and other members at the workplace.
Evaluation The policy will be reviewed on annual basis and updated
on regular manner. In order to monitor the policy, internal
self inspections of the schools takes place at least twice
annually. These inspections are carried out by small team
of appropriate and responsible staff members.

With the help of identifying certain hazards which include anything that may cause harm, deciding
who may be harmed, assess potential risks, taking actions accordingly and making records of the
findings, the policy will be evaluated in effective manner.
 Any Identified policy implementation issues with key stakeholders
The stakeholders are able to create certain issues as they are the ones who influence the flows from
separation of power and check along with balances. The community members, participants,
investigators, researchers and clinicians are the major stakeholders that may create issues by not
agree upon the policy that has been prepared to address specific issue.
 How you modified the draft policy and why?

The draft policy will be modified as per the pandemic situation as after introduction of Covid-19 certain
modifications within the health and safety policy are greatly significant within early childhood
education and care policy.
