Family Vaccination Plan and Challenges

This assignment analyzes the effectiveness of a family's vaccination plan for their two children, Jessie and Grant. The family diligently maintained records and adhered to the recommended schedule. However, logistical constraints, particularly limited access to transportation due to only one car in the family, hindered timely vaccinations. This analysis explores the impact of these challenges on the children's immunization status.

PART-1
Explaining the geogram of The Jenson Family
In this diagram the male part is shown in square and the female part is depicted in
rectangle. The above given geogram shows that Sheila is a daughter of Keith and Mary and is
married to Scott who have previously have been married twice. He have been divorced from the
two wives ,one is Lydia and have no children with the first wife and second is Shelly and have
three children one of 10 years,second of 8 years and third of 6 years. The parents of Scott are
Brydey and Robert .The father of Scott is no more now. And the Scott and Sheila are married
and they are staying together with two children Jessie and Grant. Jessie is elder to Grant who is
just of 4 months now.
The two strengths of the family according to AFSNAG
According to AFSNAG,the strength of the family is that there is a strong bond of affection
among them. They are together with each other in every problem and circumstances. This bond
of relations are very important in every persons life. Having a family to support and guide the

person in a correct direction and way. With this bond of togetherness in the family they can
manage to solve every distressing and challenging situations. Such type of family binds people
together and with togetherness they can overcome every issue that arises in the family. Sheila,her
children,her husband all live together and this may develop a sense of togetherness in them to
solve obstacles that arrives in their way and create a peaceful and secured atmosphere at their
place. The showering the affection on the children in the family is a tonic for the development of
self esteem and provide sense of confidence to them to share love and warmth with other. This
affection in a family can give a positive atmosphere to the children in their growing years and
build a stronger bond between parents and the child (Brooks, and Manias, 2017).
The second strength of the family is support. During load and stress the support that a
family can give is in countable. Since the parents of Sheila live near by to them they can support
and guide her whenever there is a problem. This is one of the advantage that one gets due to
family. Sheilas parents home is 2 hours away only so they can come and visit her whenever
possible. And also Scott mother Brydney also live near by only so she can also visit them
whenever they are at any problem or need to some support. With support comes the
encouragement of trying and using new things in the family. Sheila have her husband's support
to do job in future if she wants. Such type of support only can be given by the family. Shelis will
be looking for a part-time job in future once his younger child Grant is older.

There are two issues that have been selected for the family.
ISSUE 1-Stress and Tiredness
A) Describing the issues faced by the family
The issue that is causing a problem in the family is stress and tiredness. Sheila have two
children and the younger son Grant who is just 4 weeks old and need a proper care as he is not
able to move and do things by himself. On the other hand,the elder daughter Jessie is also 2 years
old who do not sleep much and is not trained in toilet. She also has a habit of sucking her thumb.
Managing these two young children and in addition to Scott,the husband of Sheila do not
assist him in taking care of these two children. He is busy with his work at office and arrives at
home late and he wants everything ready on the table for dinner when he comes back from work.
From the last 4 weeks since the birth of Grant Sheila has not been able to take a proper and
peaceful nap. Grant who is just 4 weeks old is a breast-feed and cries most of the times. These
all are the problems that are faced by Sheila in the family related to her children and husband
who does not support her in taking care of them (Lentz and Luther, 2017).
B) Plan nursing care
In order to reduce the tiredness and implement proper sleep in the family. The plan is
need to be made that has to be followed. To relive stress,one need to develop a environment that
promote peace. Stress can be reduced by doing medication to feel relief and positive. The use of
this practice can be a tonic to easy anxiety and tiredness.
A proper schedule need to be made and followed in order to implement meditation. The
mediation practice for 10-15 minutes is enough for a day and it will be better to meditate in quit
and peaceful place. Thus,meditation will help to create and develop a positive environment and
will reduce the level of stress and tiredness. There are various benefits that one can get from
doing mediation. While doing mediation it is suggested to sit with back straight and does not use
anything for back support . One can sit on the chair or cushion. And the mediation need to be
done empty stomach as if there will be a food in the body that person will fall sleep. So it is
recommended to do it without having food.
C) Implementing nursing care
As in the family,Sheila is suffering from the issue of stress and tiredness. To reduce the
outcomes of there problems,a proper plan and care need to be made that is required to be

practised on daily basis else this would lead to the serious problem in the future. The mediation
practice plan that are needed to be made by the family and required to be followed on daily-
basis. Sheila need to meditate in order to relief stress and tiredness (Ybarra, Y. and Chang,
2017).
This will be helpful for her as it will develop a positive environment and the level of
isolation that is feed by her will decrease. Sheila have to do preach this mediation practice
everyday in the morning or evening for 15 minutes as she does not have much time due to small
children that need to be looked after whole day. She can do this meditation when the both the
children are sleeping when there is a peace at home. While doing this mediation,She should sit
with back straight and must be done with empty stomach. By making mediation a habit the levels
of stress and tiredness can be reduced.
D) Evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care
The nursing care that have been made for the Sheila family was implemented and
followed in the family but the results that was expected was not so effective. Even though the
plan for mediation was practised but due to small children in the family it sometimes became
difficult to get time to do meditation. But Sheila's husband have been supportive since she have
been started doing mediation,he looks after the children when she is doing her meditation. This
support and assistance from her husband has also played an important part in the success of this
mediation plan.
But the conditions are better from before and it has been expected that in future may be
this practice plan can be able to produce its results by helping Sheila to fight stress and
tiredness. Thus by making this plan a habit Sheila will be able to defeat the consequences of this
problems.
ISSUE 2-Immunization
A) Describing the issues faced by the family
The second issue that is faced by the family is that Scott's children are not immunized
and also due to birth of Grant Sheila have been not given appropriate care . If the vaccination is
not given to children then it can be a serious threat for the family as it give rise to various
dangerous diseases in future. The major issues that are been addressed by the family as
immunization is not been give to the small kids till now are that Jessie do not eat and sleep well.

Also the increasing tantrums of temper and also she have a habit of sucking her thumb
(Robinson, 2017).
As the small kids are not vaccinated there are high chances that there can be high chances
of falling prey to diseases like measles,asthma,chronic inflammation and any other disabilities.
Vaccination is given to kids in order to secure and protect them from the spread of infectious
disease in their body. Sheila is not sure that whether Grant have been given vaccination or not
but Jessie is not given any such vaccination due to which various problems can be faced by her
in future.
B) Plan nursing care
The nursing care plan have to be made in order to get the small kids vaccinate at Sheila's
family. A proper plan need to be made and followed at regular intervals. The routine childhood
immunization schedule need to be made in order to check and examine what all diseases related
vaccination are given to the kids. This schedule will also give details related to the age at what
age particular vaccination need to be given to a children (Rodger and Keen, 2017).
The written record about the child vaccination need to be taken from the doctors or nurse.
This record can be taken whenever the child is taken to doctor or hospital. When there is a
change in territory this up to date vaccine record is important as the schedules of vaccine are not
similar everywhere. The new doctor or hospital my miss vaccine if they do not know about the
vaccines that are already been received.
There is an app named as Can Immunize smartphone app,which provides an alternative
for mobile to paper vaccination records. It also help the families to store and manage securely the
records of vaccination.
C) Implementing nursing care
Due to vaccination is not given to kids in the family,a proper scheduling plan have been
made in order to see and evaluate what all vaccinations are given to kids and at what age. This
record plan will help the family to identify the vaccinations that are given to the kids and what
are to be still be given (Lu, 2017). It will give details about the at specific age these vaccinations
are to be given. The routine childhood immunization will be implemented for the kids in the
family. This will be useful at times the family can shift to some other territory or place. It will
give information to doctors or hospital about what all vaccination are given to kids.

Vaccination is important for kids and ned to be given at a particular age as it immune
them from being affected by certain disease. To see the records of vaccination of their
kids,families can make use of app CAN Immunize in their smartphone.
Thus making plan and implementing this plan the consequences of vaccination can be
eliminated by the family.
D) Evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care
By applying this plan in the family it has been found that that vaccination plan was
implemented in the family. The records and chart have been made and maintained by the family
of kids. The parents of these kids and especially mother took initiative towards getting the kids
vaccinate at regular time intervals as specified in the routine chart schedule. But the expected
output of this plan was not affective,as due to transport problem there is only one car in the
family and that the father,Scott need to drive at work. Due to this at times vaccination is not
given to kids according to time in the record (DeRigne and Porterfield, 2017).
Other than that attempts were made by the family to provide the kids with vaccinations of
different disease as specified in the record at a particular age group. Sheila,took both the children
Jessie and Grant for the vaccination and also maintained the records for both these kids. She also
download the app in the smartphone in order to see the vaccination records details of the kids.
