INTRODUCTION Communication is basically a process which involve an exchange of information such as thought or ideasbetweenthe persons. For children the communication as well as language developmentisvery importantbecausespeakingisa vitalindicatorof fine motorskill development. It is also a reflection of cognitive development among the children's. The given presentation studies give the brief description on children's communication along with the communication barriers. It also discussed the understanding of communication skills as well as the resource which could enhance the communication skills in children. MAIN BODY Case study Aarav is a 5 year old boy, who lived with their parents. He feel sometime sad, quiet as well as angry because of communication problem. He is unable to speak properly or clearly. He talk only to his parents in front of other he seems to be quiet. When he want something he only utter that word as he does not speak properly a sentence(Rahma, Lestari & Nugroho.,(2018)). This is happen because he had only one person to talk for a whole day is his mother who is already busy in the house chores. Sometime she agitated due to the aarav communication problem. His father isnot present at house for a whole day and hearrived home after at night when Aarav sleep. He play all alone him self at home all the day. His admission to kindergarten was delay due to Covid-19. Only that time he learnt few word to speak after that he find difficulty in speaking. Communication Barriers The healthy communication pattern is important for children growth, development, for propersocial,academicaswellasemotionaldevelopment.Theinadequateparentchild communicationmayresultachildthattheystartseekingpotentialnegativesourceof information. The communication barriers may cause an unnecessary stress as well as argument. Some of the communication barriers in children are mentioned below: Onesidedcommunication-Acommunicationmaynotmoveforwardwhenthe participation are not two sided. For instance, the one sided communication may include demands,refuse toacknowledgethequestionsor answer, ignoringan attemptto 1
communicate as well as lecturing without encouraging child. An engaging children within the one-sided discussion with children may generate a communication barriers. Listening- This is the other communication barrier. This include an inadequate listening skills with child of any age group. In case a child start assuming or thinking that the other person is not listening properly during their conversation then they lost interest in communication(Ruggiero & at.et., (2021)). Anger- This is a type of communication barriers. As communication which start or end the communication in anger are related to unhealthy communication and it can influence the growth of communication barrier to children or their parents or other people. It is very inevitable that child will or from time to time may become emotional as well as get angry during the conversation. Communication skills The communication skills are the skills which let an individual to express themselves clearly as well as confidently in each aspects or areas of lives. A good communication may enhance a better understanding among the individuals, lessen conflicts as well as create a harmonious environment. But poor communication may lead to increase misunderstanding, frustrationas well as conflictswithin the people. As there are primarilythree typesof communication in humansuch as verbal, non verbal as well as visual communication. The communication skills may consist of various other skills such as listening, observing, speaking as well as empathizing(Susilowati & Azzasyofia., (2020)). The children are supposed to master in all the mentioned communication skills because all the mentioned communication skills are vital to children throughout their lives. The verbal communication are required in children to speak appropriately with other in order to deliver their content to work well in front of others. In order to accomplish a successful lives a children need to learn to speak clearly and properly. In order to become a good communicators the non- verbal communication skills are also important for children. It is very essential to taught a children to maintain a proper eye contact while talking to other person. As it develop interest or respect to other. The other communication skills is visual, as this skills is greatly involves in the use of visual which can be used to read or to viewed the ideas or information to be conveyed to others. children to write clearly or concisely, to draw graphs, charts, maps, books and many other things(Tohidast & et.al., (2020)). Resources which may assist with communication The communication skills can be nourished as well as cultured by practice. There are various skills or tips are used to develop children communication skills are mentioned below: Talking to children more often- a children can learn a lot of things from their parents or friends. When their parent start talking to their child more and more on regular basis then they can rise a great chance to develop their communication skills. It is very important that their parents as well as child teachers provide an encouragement to engage in conversation more and more. It is also important for the listener to listen patiently to children and try to ask them a relevant question as well(Saibovich., (2019)). Play story telling- when the parents or children are used to stories telling to each other then it can make better communication to solve bigger issues in easy way. As through story telling a children can learn a new word as well as learn to correct their grammatical errors. Teach children about body gestures- Making proper eye contact with children while communication is very important. As proper eye contact while communication can make children to feel more comfortable as well as display them a appreciation for active participation in the conversation. It essential for the listener to explain a body language meaning because it isalso a part of communication(Al-Hourani & KHARABE., (2022)). CONCLUSION From the above given report, it has been concluded that communication is processes in which an information is exchanged with one another. It is also concluded that language as well as communication development is very important in children growth. As it lead to growth fine motors, listening, speaking and many other things. The project concluded different types of communication barriers such as anger, one-sided communication and many other things. The project report also concluded different types of communication skills such as verbal, non-verbal as well as visual communication. The project report also concluded the resources which is used to enhance communication in children. 3
